I love the main theme, 'Dream is collapsing'.
Summons the film's feel perfectly. I love this track so much.
For me, the main problem with Inception's soundtrack is that 'feel'... nothing about it makes you feel like you're in a dream. It's a hugely competent piece of work, but it's very much a bombastic action soundtrack, designed to accentuate the relentless pace of the high-adren sequences - not to provide an emotional hook or to establish the setting.
Like the best soundtracks it takes the film's experience to another level, particularly later on, but I don't think it does anything to aid immersion, setting and emotional connectivity - which is a major problem when you have such a mind-frazzling, location-hopping script playing out.
Also, I don't think I could listen to the full soundtrack outside the film without experiencing a massive coronary.
