Personally I want a nice contained action/horror film similar to Alien/Aliens. A good script is a must :P and I just hope the Strauses can pull of a unique and interesting visual style.

+Set in the future.
+Set in space or on another planet.
+R-Rating
+Good script
+Predators Actually Win.
+Better Predator designs.
+Good actors. No teenagers.
+More graphic chestburting sequences.
+Good Alien-Predator fight sequences.
+Predalien (If it's done right).
+Movie should be at least 2 hours. No 90 minute film.
+Good Visual Effects.
-No silly team-up.
-No screwing around with predator technology from the first two films - ships, vision modes, weapons etc.
-No continuity problems.
-No Lance Henriksen or actors from previous A/P/AvP films.
-No connections between Predators and Space Jockeys.
-Definitely no PredQueen.
Well, so far at least four of my plusses have been ruled out. >:(
I agree pretty much with all that list, though I'm pro decent Pred technology.
What, like the Predator ship which completely changed from Predator 2? What about the continuity? And what about the different vision mode?
I all put this down the the clan difference. I don't know why it's so hard to believe. We don't have one plane design do we?

Different clans? That's not even canon. Even if it was, they wouldn't have such a vastly different ship.
Then how do you explain the different between the P1 ship and the P2 ship?
They are slightly different, I admit. But they're not as different as the one in AvP.

Anyway, the ship in Predator never came into Earth's atmosphere like the other two. It was drop-off ship.
Never got the design of the second one.
The changed the design of the Predator ships to much for AvP. They just didnt look right.
As I mentioned in the "new Alien Design" and "Pred-Alien" thread before, I look foreward to a decent Alien design and hopefully a not all skrewed up Hybrid design. The same crappy Predator design as we have seen in AVP would be hell and make me vomit. God I hate the s***t.
Beside the visual apperance of the main characters (do you see. No humans!!!), the overall storyline should be no silly fairytale-teenagecouplehaveproblemsinschoolandwithparents (OH my GOD!) stuff.
Man, give us thrilling action, our beloved (bloody) chestbursting scenes, straight (no slowmo) facehugging and skullsmashing Predator against Aliens scenes (meanwhile let all the stupid teenage cast die in one single blow) and we all are FINE.

The Design of the 2nd one can be fully seen in the Aliens Vs. Predator 2 game, its the same ship that was in the 2nd Predator film, you can tell by the back.
I guess I'm one of the few who loved the design of the predator ship in AVP, I always wanted to see what a larger predator ship or cruiser would look like, I thought they did a great job on it.
I agree, the big Pred ship was awesome. Im not gonna Lie. It seems the ship in pred 1 & 2 was like a scout ship and AVP was the big Momma ship. There neat looking too
I didn't think the AvP ship fit too well. Predators see with heat, so the ship looked like it was warm and had this all red/orange glow in Predator 2. It made sense. The AvP ship was just flash and generic with white lights. It may have worked fine for something else, but not preds. I'm hoping they bring back the old ship.
Other hopes:
- gore/blood. Yes, it doesn't make a movie good but in AvP's case, it's pretty much necessary
- fix the damn mandibles
- ditch the stupid lion roars for preds
- bring back old pred vision or don't make it so clean
- no slow motion
- don't put in THE line. You know what line I'm talking about.
The 3 main things I'm hoping for:
-consistency with the old Predator movies (unlikely, but one can hope)
-decent PredAlien design (just make it look real and good)
-NO STUPID PLOTS
A few kick-ass fight scenes without a lot of CG would be appreciated as well. ;D

I largely agree with that! It would be cool to actually have not only helpless humans, who just get wasted, but also some sort of a Alien/Predator hunter group like in the "Alien: Berserker" comics. That would make it more interesting, so that not only the Preds and the Aliens can kick ass. You need some kind of Dutch (Schwarzenegger) guys in there as well, who can defend themselves...

The rated R thing is you have to be 17 to watch the movie, but i think you have to be with someone older if your not 17 to watch a rated R movie, but here in England its gotta be 18, i hope its 18 an Alien and Predator film being a 15 is a joke and i hate seeing the 15 logo on the dvd case next to all the alien and predator movies with there 18 logo.

I expect it will be a 15, the last decent 18 rated movie was Crank, but that contained alot swearing, sex and violence.
If it is a 15 then i expect it to be editied like the last movie, fast cuts and not a lot of gore.
To be honest there hasnt really been any 18 rated action films for a while as they've all been pretty toned down

You still keep saying that but I don't believe it. I know it says it on IMDB but The Quadrilogy Disk and DC Individual DVD was rated 18.

That was one of my issues with the first AvP. There was too many comic-related things in it.
i didnt mind the comic related things, i thought some of the charachter names where a nice touch, i hated the editing in AVP and the writing, Anderson would be better off as a director of photography than a movie director
I hope it will be bloodier and scarier than the first one. Aliens and predators (especially aliens) are cruel critters so I want to show more blood when aliens attacks them and even when they kill humans. I want to see facehuggers appear when we don't expect them and I want the predators to be more aggressive with their ennemies. I don't want the humans and the predators to team up.

I always thought a scene with thousands of facehuggers swarming into a room around a Predator would be very awesome - never been done and would be interesting to see him battle them off only to finally succumb to their over bearing numbers
like the scene in avp where the thousands of aliens are crawoling up the temple towards the predators
I really hope fpr this to just be a good movie BUt i would love to have a BIG Fight scence with like 100 aliens vs 50 predators os somethin like that like alot vs alot

My hopes are that it is just a fun to watch, but never campy, monster film, with the two greatest creatures ever battling it out on earth, I hope that the film and its events are completely contained, and hold continuity
I want gore, action, good effects, good acting, a good script, and some nice style
I want the uber alien fans to be somewhat pleased. I know that the action will satisfy me, so I got not worries.
I hope this film succeeds and earns a decent amount of money, but with hardly any advertising, I can't see this happening, and I thought they said FOX was one of the best for marketing.
Well, AVP-R might not have alot of marketing until now, maybe it'll pick up alot in the coming days
Does anyone know which AVP game had the best story and for AVP3 they should base that story on it.

There is absolutely nothing here in the UK, I mean the other some guy in my university saw my playing AVP-R on my psp and asked what the game was and when since did the predator have a hand gun, I said it was the new film and he basically didn't even know there was one being made, never mind released soon, and he's a bit of a fan of the alien and predator films, not a mega fan like us, just general fan, if fans of the other films don't know about this, image the general movie goer, WE NEED ADVERTISMENT, wares Colin when you need him?
We marketing has been picking up and started at the 18 day limit really, so its posible after christmas it'll pick up

+ Only one Predator. Who is a Hunter on Safari, not some Special-Forces-Cleaner-SuperPred.
+ You never see the Predator until at least 50 minutes in to the movie. Like in Predator. You also never see the Predalien until right at the end, like you do with the Queen in Aliens.
+ There are more Human versus Creature fights instead of Creature versus Creature because they can never be done right.
+ One 'Hero' Human character who kills the Predator. Not an Alien, or a Smart Disc, I want some Traps baby.
+ The finale with Bishops countdown in it, so I can have a huge Nerdgasm.
If only all the teenagers got takin out early then they could concentrate on the decent characters. But it looks like we have to put up with the muppets a while and probaly have the tipical barbie doll girl screaming or trying to act tough and the other teeney boppers.

I'm pretty sure it will make a lot of money on the opeaning weekend because it has a lot of t.v adds duing the foot ball games on sundays and mondays.
The tv spots are brilliant and really exciting and don't lie because when people see it that's exactly what there get unlike AVP which was made really exciting and you didn't see them for ages. So atleast your getting what you see in the ads.

T.V spots where great and people in my school are talking about it. The best way to get hype is by posting t.v spots during on football games, MTV, Spike tv, FOX news, Adult Swim and G4. I think we will see some myspace adds soon this week.

Maybe if they do a 3rd movie, they make the story a bit better and make feel more like aliens. James Cameron first movie (Piranha II) was crap but his later movies where a lot better.

I'd direct the next one, if somebody let me, I would ultimately bring it back to its roots, I'd bring back the Giger alien design, those weird noises in alien, a visual effect, stop it from being portrayed as a bug or serpent, make the predator more darker and less hero status, bring back the original predator face, just give me a chance, I am serious.
