Looking at the image of Waterson herself it might possibly be an amalgamation of several images of her from pics where the cast met fans out and about in OZ. The gun is somewhat brighter and looks like its on a different layer. It's hard to tell if it's actually her face.
All in all I'm not sure really.

I don't think the idea is that it was a finished potential product but rather an initial stab at a particular approach to develop further.

I figured. Sadly I like it more than most the art that has been released.  Has a nice Heavy Metal feel to it (and the connects between Alien and Heavy Metal aren't talked about nearly enough).
