I know it's a little early to discuss this, but what do you think that Rotten Tomatoes will give this movie? I think they will give a 50% or higher.

Our local Movie critic thought the trailer made the movie look great. I'd guess 65-70%.

Rotten Tomatoes gives out really bad percentages, my guess is 20-30% at the most.

RT is a pretty poor site.
They take very little into consideration. Having said that, I think critics will slate this movie.

RT rating are based on critics ratings, and if the critics like P3 a lot then it will have a decent rating. I say the movie will be around 50% - 65%, if we are lucky then I say 70%.

50% is not that bad, and it's pretty close on being passable.

It will. I like tomatoes (in general), and I love Predators. So I want them to get along ;D ;D
Joke aside I don't really get why what the critics say is that important. I wouldn't go as far as they are feelingless vampires, they're doing their job to give us an glimpse on the movie. So reading many critics' reviews can widen one's view on the topic.
But: it doesn't and shouldn't mean one makes up an opinion due to others likes or dislikes. I don't get if someone says he won't see a movie because he heard it's bad.

I don't really care what rating Rotten Tomatoes gives Predators but if I was a guessing man I'd say anything between 40-45% at the most.

I'm guessing it's going to be somewhere between 30 and 40%. Maybe less, since RT really sucks at giving reviews.

I have a feeling it will be reach at 40% to 78% now. I hope the rating does not make people not see the movie just because of a bad review or so.

I'd like at least 75%, but I feel it's going to be around 58%.

From what we've been hearing from the reviews I can gather that the reviews that Predators will garner can be at best described as being mixed. Some will love it others will hate. Still from what I've seen so far I can guarantee that it won't be a down pour like the AVP movies.

I'm thinking, or more like hoping, for 80% or so.   Remember, it's about how these critics take it.  and so far, they've pretty much all been positve about every aspect.  except for the
Frenchies.  ;)

I get why your giving it such a high rating, but still every vote counts and we should be precautious about this movie. After all a fan is making this movie and we've seen how the last couple of additions have turned out to be with a fan film director(s) at helm.

Well, it seems that most of the reviews move in the "above average-decent-good" zone, with few 'not-so-good' and 'bad' ones... so, i think it'll get a 70-75 on the tomatometer, but a 65 on the average rating.

Hell yeah! I had the same opinion with TF: Revenge of the Fallen! Critics hated it, I LOVED IT.

i think 90 - 100 cos i love all movies with preds yes even AVP/AVPR and just for the record i value my own opinions above all others so dont even try to convince me of their patheticness.

It is a movie helmed by Rodriguez and his style, PLUS it is a Predator movie so I don't have faith that any of "the critics" are going to get it at all, which means it will most likely be an awesome film that is highly under rated. But movie goers in this country in general will probably be split into the loved it or hated it category. The "mixed reviews" will start pouring in thursday night / friday  morning from people reviewing the film who are either pretty clueless about predator movies or rodriguez's style, or from those who are so picky and critical they bring a whole new and even more negative meaning to the term fan boy. But I digress.

I predict I won't give a shit about what RH or BD, or Crave, or Ign, or Dark Horizons, or Ebert, or any critic has to say about the film. I can judge a film for myself and think for myself, thanks.

I think RT is kinda dumb. They let any tom, dick, and harry "reviewer" on there. If its good it will still only do like 45% on RT.

So far Rotten Tomatos has Predators at a 100% with 4 Positive Reviews!

Cool to see it start out with 5 positive. Of course it's a moot point since it doesn't mean anything (MacGruber started out with 8 positive and sits at 46% percent now), it's still nice.

I just can't freakin believe that, most sci-fi action films are in the 14-30% range when they come out. Predators is still 100% after 9 reviews? That's profoundly positive and what the franchise needs after AVP-R.

Well, all those review seem to agree that "Predators" is a well enjoyable sci-fic/action  movie with some flaw but hey, that's good enough for me.

Is Preds being shown to reviewers? Cause it's coming out in two days and the reviews shown seem to be from folks that got special screenings.

The interesting thing about RT is a movie can have a 3/5 review and be listed as positive, yet another film can get a 3/5 review and have it counted as negative.

Of course I'm sure they go more by the content of the review than the score.

Its now at 83% with 2 negative reviews. Is this where the negative reviews start flooding in? Because thats what usually happens on RT and if i remember correctly it also happened to Armored, which went from fresh to rotten in a few days to release...

One of the critics that gave a negative, actually liked "AvPR." It's hard to predict the final score. I recall the day before they were released "The A-Team" had a 65% and "The Karate Kid" had a low 49% score. Early reviews are rarely a tell as to the final score.

Im OK with RT but sometimes they give out Rotten/Fresh's out wrong. Ive seen 2/5 get fresh and it seems to always amaze me.

Predators went from 100 to 86% today. Entertainment weekly, top critic, gave it the negative.

Now at 75%...

Why does it matter what Rotten Tomatoes thinks?  All they just do is bash every movie that comes out wither you love it or not.  Stupid ass critics shouldn't sway are thoughts about an upcoming movie... what matters the most is what the little people think not these over paid stuffy shirt critics think...

Rotten Tomatoes does no such thing. It just collects a bunch of reviews and creates a percentage based on how many are positive and how many are negative.

are we talking about freshness or avrage rating, i'm going to say 80-90% fresh, with between 5-6/10 average rating. last i looked it was 100% fresh, with 6.4/10 but it would only need a few negative reviews to get the freshness down.

Yeah it seems like it's in the high 70's now on RT, I can't wait to see this friday. I scared it that will be rotten this moring.

The official Consensus from RT:  "After a string of subpar sequels, this bloody, action-packed reboot takes the Predator franchise back to its testosterone-fueled roots."

If anything this has to mean it stays fresh! I cant see the film being in the 40% and the consensus saying this.
