CDProjektRED is an exceptional and fair company, of extremely high quality.

All I need to see is their name on the product and I know it's worth every penny/cent.

The voiceover is annoying (kinda like Blade Runner!)  but otherwise looks really good.

Is Cyberpunk 2077's release date the 11th of September 2019?

If that's legit then sweet Jebus a release date only three months away might be the best news that could possibly come out of E3!!! :o

EDIT: Unless they're going with the proper way of writing dates, in which case November. But still, very great!

Well, we will find it out this Sunday at E3 Microsoft conference.

Saturday, the 9th of Nov - hmmm? They can still delay it. Anyway, that is a quite huge promotion with those painted buildings and media people already received press kits and some merchandise stuff.

Yeah just saw that the 9th would be a Saturday, so it must be September, in which case I'll gladly forgive this one instance of improper date-usage if it means getting this game two months earlier than the alternative!

The September release date is not that bad. People are back from vacations and they do not have to compete with the other big players (CoD, Watch Dogs 3, etc.).

I definitely have nothing against it, Anita Sarkeesian is an idiot that's out of their depth when it's concerning video games.
As for the whole poster controversy, it's actually really good representation though.

In the Cyberpunk (concerning body modification) future, it's only appropriate men, women and trans people's bodies are exploited for corporate profit.

Apparently the Eye of Sauron has cast its gaze upon this game because now it's under fire for being transphobic.

Yeah, not seeing the big deal with that poster, and I say that as someone who's pretty sensitive to this sort of thing. It's not like it's a real-world advertisement for the game; it's a gaudy obnoxious ad created by soulless corporate hacks in-universe. The implication that human body parts are equivalent to soda flavors (ie: consumable products) is classic cyberpunk, and appropriately, it's coming from the bad guys.

I'm fine with this. Witcher 3 was pushed back twice and I'm glad for the extra polish. I'd rather they take their time and put out a great game than rush it out unfinished.

My game is now hilariously creepy.

I have an NPC character who follows me around everywhere. He'll get in the car with me. He follows me around, staring at me like a stalker.
I've been on missions where I leave him behind, but then there he is again, in the background. The green triangle follows me everywhere.

I've heard somewhere that the problems aren't exclusive to consoles as even the GeForce RTX 3080 is having trouble with this game apparently with messed up animations, missing models, and glitchy dialogue which sounds pretty immersion breaking to me.

I'll wait, but I think once it's more refined it'll be a worthy experience. I'm just surprised this is a CD Projekt Red game as they normally have a reputation for high quality. Hopefully they can make a comeback.

I just don't understand why they didn't just delay it again. The amount of damage this has done to their reputation and now they're giving refunds. What was the point? They knew what a turkey it was and didn't give the press any review copied because they knew how bad it was.

They should have just put the work into releasing it for PC and next-gen and then leave current-gen for the future.

TBH this is nowhere near as bad a situation as A:CM. At least CDPR actually bothered to apologise. Plus underneath all the crap happening to last gen consoles, the main crux of the game is an excellent game. Its just let down by whats happening on the base consoles.

This is much more a Bethesda situation, but more forgivable as it is the first game of theirs, at least to my memory, to be affected like this. As opposed to every Bethesday game ever released, with game breaking bugs and poor performance

Ummm... I'm running it on a good spec PC with a 2080Ti. It's a decent game. There are far too many bugs for it to be classed as excellent.
I've had it crash 3 times in a row before even getting to the title screen. I've had bugs where characters follow me around when they shouldn't. I've had enemy NPCs getting stuck in level geometry, or simply falling through stairs. I've had unplayable missions because things just didn't work properly and NPCs didn't react accordingly, or I didn't get things needed to actually complete the mission just because the game didn't generate them.
It's far from an excellent game. In its current state I would say it's a barely complete game.

But does it have some giant donut rolling around and silently mocking you to add insult to injury?

Yes it's terrible in it's current state and terrible it was released this way as is kind of the norm at least for the likes of Bethesda.

But this is CDPR and for them this is pretty inconsistent with their track record, so I'm willing to just sit back and wait to see if they can pull a No Man's Sky kind of comeback.

Yeah, it's gonna be Cyberpunk probably as I need a break from fantasy setting. Time for some high tech dystopian shit.

guys, you GOTTA play Phantom Liberty! there is a crazy love letter to Alien: Isolation at the very end!

it is however only available in one of the game paths, but you will definitely know when you experience it!

It's more than an easter egg, that's all I will say.

from the sounds of a review about it, it doesn't sound much like alien isolation or a knod to it (maybe only gameplay wise). I'm sure it wasn't very difficult to write considering so few games are in first person and so few have both games amount of toolsets to fight.
the hexagonal narrow hallways isn't that difficult to copy. So it was inspired....not an easter egg unless you actually have something that is lifted from isolation. Not sure if that's the case though.

It's the design language. the corridors, the lighting, and the signs look similar to the ones at Sevastopol.
