Remake was already perfected by Herzog and Kinski why can't they leave him alone. The one piece of Dracula that hasn't been deformed.

Come on guys they can't possibly screw this up, what with all the advancement in cgi and explosions. Leonardo DiCaprio would play an effective Nosferatu.

Is this one and the same as the project which has Doug Jones as Orlok?

Love the mask for that, but kind of wish they had kept the fangs authentic.

I made a piece of 'Nosferatu'-inspired art just recently:

I do wonder what the point is in completely remaking it, if this happens to be a different production, because the original was essentially just an adaptation of Stoker's 'Dracula' novel.

Also?

There was one of those countdown shows on tv the other day and nosferatu was on there, the scene where he approaches the man in the bedroom? The way it was cut for the show while talking about it made it even more creepy. They shortened the scene, and in seemingly the same shot, nosferatu was quite a distance away, cut to the man in distress briefly, then cut back to nosferatu, now almost in the doorway, walking very slowly, however to cover the distance he would have had to move unnaturally fast while off screen, and return to slow movement while looking at him, paying tricks on the mind and making the imagination run wild.

The original is a seminal masterpiece. Many films today still use the same techniques almost 100 years later. Check out Nosferatu The Vampyre. It's a fantastic remake. Has anyone seen the Willam defoe film where plays him? Not got around to seeing it yet.

I bet most people will be like "What the hell is Nosferatu?". Hollywood tends to remake 70's, 80's and early 90's films because those decades are more familiar with the general movie goers. I find it rare to see remakes anything before the 70's these days.

Willem Dafoe in Shadow of the vampire. My favourite Nosferatu.

Still not convinced this will get made. If it does happen I hope they won't try to make it edgy and modern. Keep it dark, black and white full of gothic atmosphere, shadows, I hope it will get made with practical effects and some camera wizardry instead of cgi. Bram Stoker's Dracula is the best Dracula film, I hope Nosferatu can become as good as that.
