Doesn't look avp-ish to me. I remember that being just yellow and reddish orange. This still looks like a filter though.

Supposedly that was because of the cold environment. Personally, I've always thought they were just too lazy to open the archives and use the proper sounds and get the look right. Another reason AVP was just disappointing. Gonna bring the two creatures together and then not make either of them feel particularly authentic? Excellent! Lion roars for both.

He's not quite a master of the Grimes style. You have to hold the gun at a more downward angle, one handed, and gesture with it a lot.

They were using actual infrared cameras. The technology got a lot better since 1990. Anderson said they had problems with the set walls being too thin in places and showing crew members behind.

And IIRC the infra-red in Predator and Predator 2 wasn't an accurate representation of actual IR. They had to add artificial colours and etc to it.

It isn't. It's just some PS filter to give those promo stills a Predator flavour.
