Yeah, I read that sentence wrong the first time. You're right the sentence is referencing the original film, but it sounded weird the first time I read it.

It doesn't say to the original film either.

Described as a inventive sequel of the story about commandos who are hunted by an other-worldly assassin in a Central American jungle.

...of the story is what through me off. They should've written as to the original film.

As far as we know its still slated for a March 18 release. We've know about the February start date for a few months now as it was pushed back. Wouldn't be surprised if release was pushed back as a result. I wouldn't get too worried about that synopsis either.
