The Gibson Alien 3 comic, audible drama (and soon the novelization) exist.

And you'll get 2 different takes there too. The novel's going to be based on the first daft. Man, I think I'm gonna relisten to the drama soon.

the audio drama is so uneven and cartoonish that it feels like the audio of a late 80's cheap anime OVA.
Newt being played by an older actress 100% leans into that aesthetic.
I like it but...

I don't care really about technical stuff, for me movies are pure entertainment. Anyway I was just taking the piss myself, I wasn't aiming at anyone really :-) I personally like alien 3 as well bar the finale which I find very confusing with all the running going around. I really like how Ripley evolves from movie one till movie three.
If I watch the first one I need to watch the 2 follow ups as well otherwise it doesn't feel complete to me. It is hands down my favorite film trilogy.

My definitive favorite is Alien.

I was discussing it with a fellow fan and he used a word for it, "hypnotic." The film grabs you. No matter how many times ai watch it, I am on the edge of my seat via suspense and totally enthralled. I told my friend that when I watch Alien a transference happens, I feel what the characters feel and I let my imagination transport me aboard the Nostromo and the fear becomes palpable.

Yeah it's absolutely entrancing.

People have often asked what Ridley Scott thought of all the other Alien films:

"Alien 1, I'll say was, by far the best. What followed was Jim's. That was okay. The other two were kind of adequate" - Ridley Scott

When he said "the other two were kind of adequate", did he mean Prometheus & Alien: Covenant?

;D
