Confession:

I've never read a standalone Predator
comic/novel, are any at the same tier
as Alien- The Cold Forge or Labyrinth?

That legitimately explains a lot (not in a bad way). Yes, a lot of them are really cool. But some of them are terrible. Depends on your likes and dislikes. I love the Fire and Stone/Life and Death comics. Those are a must read in omnibus format.

In all seriousness, how was this crossover? I never read it. I've been slowly getting into the Predator EU and I find it's a lot like Star Wars...the better have been in the comics, books, and games.

If you are up for crossovers in general, give it a shot.
It is one of the best, if not the best of the predator crossovers that don't involve aliens.
It also has two sequels, If you want more after reading the first one.

Agree on the EU part. I love a lot of the predator comics/novels and would take movie versions of them over predators/The Predator anyday.

Those words tickled my fancy. Agree wholeheartedly.

Fire and Stone repulses me,
as does OotS, RoP & SoS
And the Rage War Trilogy.

How's that for a barometer?

Isn't "Bad Blood" the one with the
Predator police officer, identical to
JH except with a big goofy star on
the mask?

No, he's got a spike on his helmet, his armor is really bright silver, and he's got some kind of clan symbol on his mask and armor. There was a recent re-release of his figure a few weeks ago.

May I ask why? Have you actually read them?

Yes. Unfortunately.
I've went through
the reasons before.
I don't know if this
is the thread for it.

I looked him up,
Enforcer Predator right?

I'd consider that a star
of a sort, one spike in
each diagonal and one
up the middle. (Nearly)
And yeah, aside from
the mask and the
colouration, the design
is identical to Anytime.

Kinda lame, tbh-
Fugitive's design seems
more appropriate for a
Predator "Enforcer"
/Police Officer.

the spikes curve enough that I'd never really associated them with a "star", but to each their own.

As for cribbing from Anytime's design, that's common in the comics (unfortunately).

It's that sorta thing,
that really puts me
off- comics are a
primarily visual
medium.

Not that there's
no excuse, time
constraints are
often a factor.
But even so,
I'd rather spend
my finite time on
something really
special.

Paper Girls
for instance.

In the early Predator comics that came out before 'Predator 2', it was also the mentality of "this is what Predators look like".

It's really so the formatting
is easy to read on both
phone and computer
for myself.

It is incredibly frustrating to read on either device for everyone else. The mobile auto-formats it to fit the screen, and it results in a lot of needless scrolling.

I got Flesh and Blood but still haven't read it, but Hicks seems to have liked it.

I do quite like it. It's the Hish but actually good. It's not as good as Turnabout or South China Sea, though. For me, they're both fantastic reads with SCS being the better.

I don't think so, no. But what is?

For novels, i agree whith what has been said, Turnabout,South China Sea and to a lesser extend Flesh and Blood were great reads IMO. Especially South China Sea.

For the comics, i like the recent Predator:Hunters series, and some of the old school ones.
The original trilogy about Dutche's brother was nice and an insight what a Predator franchise with a recurring Arnold could have been.
I also like Big Game, Captive and to an lesser extend Hell come Walkin' and Nemesis. The last two mostly because of the historical setting.
Bad Blood is a favorite of mine too and is a good read if you look past some of the design choices, like the Bad Blood's nipple piercings without nipples or the concept of Predator Cops( I like to pretend it was just a survivor that wanted revenge for some killed relatives or friends ;))

What all of the Predator comics have in common IMO, especially the classic ones, is an exaggerated amount of gore and a certain "schlockiness".
So that may not be to everybody's taste.
