Title: Predalien Vs Predator!!!

The marketing campaign has officially begun! IGN have got their hands on a new production still from AvP2 that features the Predalien fighting with the Predator!

Looks absolutely amazing. Looks as if the Predator has an alien’s tail through its chest as well and the Predator has impaled the hybrid with its wristblades. Special thanks to The Ultimate Predator for the news.

Oh my f**** GOD!! That look sooooo wicked!!!! It looks like dreads of the hybrid got the same structure like and alien tail!! Untill now I was no fan of the dreads, but maybe I will change my opinion.

It looks like the predator pierced the Predalien's head with it's wrist blades as well. Not enough details to make out the predalien but looks good so far.

It may not be the end . from what i can tell the tail goes through the chest but missing the heart and the lung's could be a heavy damage but not lethal this is a experienced predator.

Actually that is Wolf , he's arm muscles matches the previous production shot also he's forearm protector matches , but the damage might be non lethal.

It was already confirmed that there would only be one predator in the movie so yeah, it has to be the main Predator.

Throughout the main movie Darkness, at the ending another might come down or something. Look at the trailer description, it says predators near the end.

OH MY GOD !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  This looks just BRILLIANT!!!  It seems this film is gonna to be a REAL horror movie YAY.  Predalien liooks NICE!  But ... i dont know ... is it me or does the mouth of the predator looks ... well ... weird Oo? Anyway ... we will see in the movie ^^ ...  go go go ... it seems the trailer could be released Today    :o    And i think too, that they cant spoil the end, ya know? Hell yeah!  What a great pic.  I bet the Predalien impaled him first and was going to go for a headbite and the Predator said "not today" as he drove is wristblades through it's skull.  Looks like they're acid proof!  Nice find Ultimate Predator!

This is awesome.    ;D   Not sure about the colour of the PredAlien, but that is minor. I hope this is how the film will end. With them both killing each other, and the Wolf having to activate self destruct due his severe cheat wound.

The Ultimate Predator:  Alright I'll take your side just because i don't have concrete prove like screen shots from the movie , though making another predator with the same build and same style of amour is weird cause either the creature design team are lazy or the budget is square bottom.

C'mon, how can you people think this is a spoiler, I doubt that after all the fights the predator's been in he would die from just a tail piercing through his armor, they've even said he would have some sort of healing device, that's a good time to use it I guess, in Predator one the pred took hundreds of mini bullets, in pred 2 he got his ass handed to him and an arm cut off, just because they gave predators a whimpy image in avp doesn't mean they're all weak.

Yap .. it doesnt look like the wristblade is really attached to the wrist. I bet the missing part is made in cgi so the didnt have to damage the suit.

Spoiler or not, this pic makes me think of that scene from Freddy vs. Jason, when both of them have each other impaled with there weapons. I liked, no I loved that scene. If this is Wolf, then its turning out like I said, he'll die killing the one that threatens his species and the aliens. If not, then cool. But still, I like it. Wolf is going to kick some alien pussy ass    ;D   buuuuuut when its all over, the Predalien will come and take him by surprise.

From the rain you would have to assume this is on Earth (rather than a fight on board the ship). I suppose it could be the Predalien finishing off the last of the initial Predators - however it is fully grown and so you would assume later in the film.  I have three questions: 1. Does anyone else think that looks like a helicopter blade from behind the Predator? 2. Is it me or does the Predator seem to have too many mandibles? I think I can count 3 lower and two upper? 3. Does the tail seem a bit long? Could the Pred be taking on the Predalien and a standard alien and got stabbed in the back by one?

This is what we've been waiting for. The details look awesome and good job on not showing the whole thing. The rain covers the most part of the Predalien and that's how it should be. Like one big mystery! That's what made the first one's awesome and that's why I like this shot. Stop nagging about the possible ending. I don't think Fox is going to show the ending before they show anything else. Now you've got something and still whinning like little b**ches. Sorry for my bad English. I'm a huge fan from Belgium.    ;D

If this is early in the movie this could be the predaliens eggs in the background, and the last surviving pred from the crash on earth killing of the predalien. Then hell in texas begins and because its predalien eggs, the preds send their "wolf" to clean up the mess...   But damn, isnt there supposed to be just one pred in the movie?   ::)      ;D

those are long wristblades. Bigger than the origianl, but smaller than the ones from AvP. Either that, or he shot those the Hybrid's head, like Scar did with the Queen.

I think the predator he's being stabbed by another alien while fighting the predalien, otherwise this hybrid tail is too long. Looks like the predalien is finished off by this well aim wristblade blow. Also it might be possible that this hybrid is on higher ground thus seeming taller. I believe they are similar size except the pred are broader.  Very happy with this picture though. Go Wolf.. Kill them all!    ;D

I don't think so yajuta. There are no extra predaliens and there are no extra predators.  Only one predator goes to earth and that is wolf.  U look at picture carefully and see the predator has poked his wrist blade into the predalien throat and the predalien has poked his tail into the predtaor.  I think this is the ending. Both die while fighting which makes sense but still it ruined the ending.   Please Colin tell us this is not the ending.

i have no idea what you guys are on but if youve watched the short programs about avp2 (shown on here)you have taken notice tht the guys said they redesigned the predator thus this wolf stuff is complete bollox(and like most films they dont use the external sources fan,s make up/dark horse comics or the first fillm would have been good as for the guys saying the aliens are the same size thts utter tripe as well . aliens stand 8 to 9 feet tall somthing i noticed in the avp film was the aliens even with hormonal growing seemed to lack ,as for the tail read up on what first came out about alien the specie,s and youll find its tail is one and a half times its body size or do you not remember it lowering itself to eat brett or when its tail went under the locker to scewer lambert  take a closer look at the gauntlet on its wrist ,its turned ,check out the grip of the pred this also indicate its wrist blade has manouverd round horizontaly chopper blade looks like an overhead pipe and cylindrical and the new alien species just looks more thick set as to its large yet slim spinderly bretherin

PredAlien has dreads (surprise surprise) but it really doesn't look that bad.  Only thing I don't like about the image is that the blades sticking out of the thing's head don't seem to actually enter the head, but what the hey. Nice to have something.

if u look more closer at the wrist blades, the blades dont seem to be attacted to the wrist.  my guess is that the blades where knocked off or they where launched from his wrist and the predator uses them as a last resort.

i dont think the predator will die here. if u look at the first moviestill of the predator holding the alien  in the sewers u notice its armor looks damaged and u also see a small metal triangler thingy on its chest. it is also where it is impaled by the alien/predalien i think its some kind of medical tool being used to hold the predators skin together   ???

Colin just made a few comments about the Predalien in the forum, go check it out.  He called it a she. Tom worn 2 ft stilts for the Predalien suit. Most Biomechanical design in the movie. Predalien design ate up most of thier time and effort.

Weird part for me is that the predator's gauntlet is so much smaller than from any other predator movie. I can't see the wrist blade mechanism on the gauntlet on both production photos. But what's weirder is that on this photo the predator is holding his arm extensor side which would mean that the wrist blades would be located on the back of the gauntlet (the side we cant see) and that the blades them self should be along side each other not behind one another otherwise from this position we would have seen the blades on the predator's side forearm but we don't. Cant really figure it out.

My guess is the predalien survives that and has to be finished off by the army. Thats gotta be the predators death scene, no way he could survive that. remember in th first avp they showed that the wrist blade could change positition ie turn the opposite way round if they could do this then its possible they can also sit sidways .the guys may heve incorporated this and just maybe its the other way around he,s pulling the alien towards him take a closer look at the head tilt of the alien you can see the underside of its jaw and bottom of the plate clearly at the back  the best thing is its following the rule of the comics whearby the preds used bladed weapons to kill the aliens instead of fire power as their blade,s didnt melt(yet another cock up in the original avp) cant mount a melted alien now can we unless the new critters blood is pisspoor

I considered that.... but if you look... there's no way the sharp pointy thing sticking out of the top of the aliens head is from the predator's writs.  the angles all wrong.  But I guess... I mean that would crazy to have a knife with two blades on it.  Silly predators.

yeah that would of been a good design. IMO it looks like the predalien from the Aliens vs. Predator 2 game cover where they are looking at each other it looks almost exactly identical.

their wrist blade,s want to know why  simple. open the ign image right click on it save as then open in windows pic viewer zoom in on blades plus fist youll see its no knife   his blade has turned sideways for the attack  check out his knuckles they are not in a knife holding position check out his thumb under the tail plus there,s no pumle/stock of the knife if it was one  lol i love this kinda shit  ill photo shop it if you want lol

Cool it is a she and she might very well be the Queen of this movie, who knows. Right now I shall answer all of everyone's previous comment.s (or try at least) 1. Predaliens are naturally larger than Preds, and if she is a Queen then she would be huge, like standing 25 feet tall.  2. The blades are not a knife, take a look, and Wolf could be shooting them or they are impaling the Hybrid from adifferent direction The pic might be misleading, it could be elongated blades out of the wrist from Wolf. 3. Ian Whyte moved like that in AvP 1 because Anderson told him to, not because that was his interpretation of the Preds. 4. The ship that was last seen in AvP 1 is not the one that crashes to Earth, a small launch pod is. In terrestrial ant colonies, the workers are female. so, if they followed the ant model for the aliens, then they will all be female.  technically though, the alien is most probably asexual.  Another reason it can be referred to as "she" is, well, haven't you ever heard someone call an inanimate object a female. you know, "Oh this car, she's my baby." I've never heard anyone refer to an inanimate object as "he", but i have heard "she".

Fan-freak'n-tastic! Wow, I REALLY hope we get the trailer tomorrow. lol   :D     ;)    I'm not sure if I like the new double lower mandibles design for the pred. It's kinda reminiscant of the pred from Predator 2, but this is FAR more prominent. lol  From what I can I see so far, I'm lovin the pred-alien design. I can't quite tell if it's the lighting or not, but I hope to God the Super Strause Bros. didn't give it a flesh tone color body (or dreadlocks for that matter). I'm stoked that it appears they made it a little taller than a human-alien warrior, like they should logically. lol    ;)    Depending on how long the pred is holding his blades in it's skull (and if it's even in it), there's a problem with this scene. There should be acid pouring out of the pred-alien's skull and melting the pred's hand (and wrist gauntlet if it isn't acid resistant, which it most likely is).    :D

one more thing the predators arms seems a little too skinny , but I dont want to see the pred too bulky . I just want to see the pred with the athletic build from the first predator movie ,that is how a pred should be , a middle ground of strengh and speed .

Hicks.  There is change in the air, I can feel it.  This is going to rock.  How do I know?  Well the Brothers have come out and are being honest with the fans.  Getting out there and mingling with the people who actually care about this franchise.  That to me seems more real then the usual pretentious approach that directors take.  I mean, Paul Anderson basically hid under a f***ing rock, letting the marketing dept. speak for him.

I love the picture of the Pred-alien & Predator, its very stylish with rain and lighting. I hope it isn't the ending, it may just be at the begining of the movie which set's up the rest of the film who knows?  The fact the Pred-alien is a 'she' means there will be 'no' queen in this movie, for the simple fact of the budget of this movie and the fact that,  all there time & effort went into creating the hybrid alien.  No queen in this movie,I think is a good idea because i mean how many times have we seen the queen now? Aliens, Alien Res & AVP. So it makes a change and a twist!  Cant wait for the trailer, i hope it doesnt show or tell us too much! teaser's are much better to promote a film!  Please guys stop b#tching about the pic, you moan for pics and trailer's and when you do get something you moan! so just relax!

For those who are saying that the predator is stabbing the alien with its wrist blades, they are wrong. It appears, judging by that he doesnt have his wrist band which the blades appear from, that it is in fact a knife. You see his hand close to his chin, and near the bottom of his hand, there appear to be a pointy part which could possibly be the handle of the knife. This makes a lot more sense than those no existant wrist blades.  Anyway, still no trailer yet in UK time, just have to wait.

It's really not an "amazing shot", by any means. It's interesting, but there's virtually no detail, whatsoever.  The first one was a lot more impressive than this.  And yeah, I support the film, I just don't see why people are getting so hyperactive after seeing this specific picture.

The release of this picture has achieved exactly what was required for Fox and everyone involved in publicity ....... it's got us all talking.  People on Alien/Predator boards across the web are in heated debate about what it does or doesn't show.  I was on location for some of the filming (not this scene though) and have been privileged to view more detail and get more updates than the majority of fans out there due to my location and people I know attached to the filming.  Even so - from this photo it is impossible to say for sure that this is the Wolf pred OR at what point in the film this takes place.  I know we've been told that there is only 1 predator - but there could be all sorts of possible alternatives - like - who's to say there isn't another pred at the start of the movie that gets killed off straight away by the predalien as it 'escapes' the main ship?  Those blades look like a hand-held knife rather than wristblades - and I can't even tell if it HAS pierced the hybrid's head or if the blade missed. If it IS the wolf pred - we don't know if he and the hybrid meet more than once in the movie - it could be that this is a confrontation earlier in the movie and the Wolf survives - hence the previous mentions of the medi-kit etc.    Simple fact is - this is all (including my comments) conjecture spurred on by the release of 1 photo - and this means I can't wait for the furore once the trailer gets released (lol).

Costa Mesa, CA... STILL NO TRAILER!!! *sobs convulsively*  Upon further inspection, it looks like they gave the pred-alien dreadlocks. Dammit. I've only seen one pred-alien design that looks good with the dreadlocks (a fairly recent design), the other 99% percent were utter garbage and the designers should be shot for such abominations.   ;)    Hopefully, when we see the entire pred-alien in motion it will look good. The pred-alien having dreadlocks is completely illogical.   :-\

I think what I"m going to love about this movie is how it's going to try to genuinely capture the feel of the originals.  But also, I can assume, that it's being made as a stand alone movie.  I would bet that other than a crashed pred ship and complete with  pred alien, there's nothing that's going to actually tie it to the last film.  So fans that enjoyed AvP can go "wow, awesome sequel" and fans of the films that want to to forget AvP ever happened can go "what a great movie that stands on it's own and has nada to do with the previous film".  Good work.

to cockroach:all ya need is 3 eggs,1 for the queen,1 for the drone that protects the queen and 1 to collect hosts for future hive.so if theres no queen in the hive then a drone will be selected to become a queen.i read it in AVP:prey.   ;D

I see alot of people saying "SPOILER OMFG!!!!" or "now we know the ending its no point whatching it" and that kind of stuff.   Let me just ask you, why are you going to whatch it?  Is it purely because of the ending? no  Its the action of the entire movie, not just the end action. Ofc the pred will prob die at the end. The end is alot of the time "predictable".  Oh and another thing, if you complain about spoilers, why whatch the trailer? it shows parts you are goign to see. Oh i guess a trailer with hundreds of pictures is different to ONE picture, right?.

You'd still need a drone to move the eggs to the propper spaces for hatching reasons Xenomorph,and i've seen/read enough national geographic and discover shows/mags and enough alien/avp/predator books/comics to know what i'm talking about.The drones entire mission is to protect the queen,the hive and the eggs.so yes,one drone whould collect hosts,while the other protects the queen.
