China doesn't. Japan shouldn't, and only does it out of a weird spite/pride situation - a lot of the meat that is sent to market goes to waste.

Spite and pride could also be used to describe how some of the predators act.

Ummm I think that film maker I mentioned was me, specifically. I would do it to exercises the cancer that is The Predator. I would replace with something true to the Predator series.

Well the point is to get rid of The Predator from official canon. That is my thought process. Kind of how the new Resident Evil remakes are deleting the OG games out of its own continuity.

But let's not dwell on my hypothetical sequel replacement. Let's refocus on Predator tech

My headcanon is that as a species, they've already peaked and are in a (very) slow decline. They mastered FTL, invisibility etc as a more well rounded culture, but with their tech to the point that FTL starts to spread them thin over huge amounts of space and (relative) time, and wanting for very little other than entertainment, quite a few groups have backslid into barbarism.
