Dan commented on my IG post about the big beefy Predator statue. I had overheard someone say it's name was "Gunnar" and I incorrectly gave him that name in my caption. Dan corrected me and said Gunnar is the name of one of the Vikings in the movie. I only recall hearing two Viking character names, so that was a misunderstanding on my part. The big Predator is NOT called Gunnar!

What a glorious beast! I'd love to see it next to the Feral statue they have at 20th Century Studios.

I overheard 20th Century Studios President, Steve Asbell, say that is exactly where they are placing this big guy in their offices!

Dan's caption of that post implies that this is the last screening before it hits Hulu. Sorry you didn't get the chance! I wish they'd don't a limited theatrical run for folks.

QuotePredator: Killer of Killers was the first movie (or so they said) to screen in the Disney Studio Lot's brand new theatre. It was also my first time working on an animated movie.

My favorite part about a crew screening is when the credits roll, I recognize the majority of the names, and everybody claps and cheers the whole time they're rolling. It takes me back to when I was 9 years old watching a VHS of Star Wars on my 8 inch TV with the VHS player attached. After the movie ended and John Williams kicked on the fanfare, the names started to roll down the screen. I felt so much excitement to see all the names of the people who created this epic experience for me, and I told myself one day my name would be on those credits.

QuotePREDATOR brand gets new life with the work of director Dan Trachenberg and co-director Josh Wassung. Thank you for throwing a wonderful crew screening last week! It was great to meet you guys in person.

"Killer of Killers", was action packed ! Sound design was amazing! Animation and the look of the film I really liked. @joel.chang was the Production Designer that hired me! Another good friend from the NC soft days who has worked his way through the years from concept artist to Production Designer. There's so much more artists that did amazing work on this film. I will highlight them in my next posts.

I had the pleasure of working on the project and designing on the Predator as well as some of the other characters. Artwork coming soon!

I took with me my son and @joel.crawford.art who is directing the new dreamworks animated feature "Forgotten Island" which I also did some fun stuff for! @jmercado, another really good friend is director on it as well, and I am so excited to show off what I got to do for these guys! They wrote and directed this original IP! I am so proud of it! - - more about this in next posts !

We're going to be hearing this a lot in the next few days, and I personally don't agree. It's good though, but I still think Prey is better by a long shot.

My personal ranking at the moment:

PREDATOR

PREDATOR 2 & PREY are both my #2. They flip flop as I like them both equally in different ways. Though, P2 may still be the movie I watch most of the franchise, like it's always been.

Killer of Killers.

Predators (I like this one a lot less than the rest).

The Predator is way, way down at the bottom.

"The best since..." is just one of those lines people like to use instead of expressing an actual opinion.

SiL

The new film is always the best/best since the first when it's in pre release reviews.
