I think he would definitely check with the RPG to make sure he's not conflicting with anything in that hallowed tome.

Imagining 87 year old Ridley Scott with a glass wine, correcting is new alien script, because it contradicts the rpg lore is probably the funniest mental image I had in a while!

Andrew Gaska might even spare a few minutes to take Ridley's phone calls.

I'm just going to say it. Alien: Earth (set 2 years before the events of Alien) is just a terrible idea. Having a Queen on Earth 59 years before Aliens is even a worse idea.

This has to be your funniest message yet.  :D

Advent is something that i sorta believe Ridley considered interesting. Not just because it was made by his son + Fassbender but that it was most likely based on Ridley and Logan's actual plans for Prometheus 3. (probably vague at that point).

Whether they actually even ended up considering it while writing that 3rd prequel? who knows..

hope that Alien Destiny script leaks one day.

I will be front row for any Ridley Scott prequel/saga scrapped scripts and other details. The Paradise (Prologue) script hosted by avpgalaxy is my most treasured piece of Alien preservation past the important documentation of the 1979 original.

And while Prometheus had a home release with an abundance of deleted scenes and making-of features, if the studio ever wants to sell me a re-release of Covenant with more b-roll and specifically deleted scenes from The Crossing, I'm there.

Quote from: The Cruentus on Mar 28, 2025, 03:48:18 AMAh yes that's right AVP was 2004, damn 21 years. Well 19 years if you want to count Chet the Predalien that was supposedly a young queen.

I don't count Chet, because she never achieved the classic Queen look with the egg sac!

Quote from: The Cruentus on Mar 28, 2025, 03:55:41 AMNor was she a good addition in general. I don't mind the concept of a Predalien Queen but to have vomiting eggs...No thank you! Its why they should stick with classic life-cycle and leave it at that. Nearly every time there has been deviations and hybrids like Newborn and Offspring, it just doesn't go well.

I always figure it was because Chet the Predalien was a Praetorian and not a full fledge Queen

That was the intention of the directors.

Far too busy being awful.

Of course. But these idiots simply don't care. Pathetic. How hard would it have been to set it 59 years after instead?

We really have no idea what specifically locks the show into the timeframe it exists in (if I had to guess, it's the corporate-ruled Earth stuff). If that's the kind of element that Hawley wants to explore here, and clearly he does, then some time around the time of Alien seems like the most open period in the timeline to do so. By Aliens we know that WY and the US are separate entities, and post-Alien 3 WY is on its way out as per Resurrection.

Yes I agree. The general theory of exploration stated about this series was the corporate aspect of daily life. The monsters are just along for the ride, in the corporate monstrosity called humanity.

Surprise twist, we find out all the important people are already immortal robots.

Thus they have no fear from the xenomorphs and intend them to purge humanity to start over.

Well if Alien: Earth turns out to being a steaming pile of waste. We can always say its an alternate continuity.
