The Alien and Predator film sections each have their own best picture threads, but I couldn't find one for the AVP section, so I'm starting my own.  Here is my all time favorite image:

Aside from too many aliens (imho), that picture is one of the best depictions of what the creature effects should have looked like.

That's true.  My first impression when I saw this pic was that the Pred was going out in a blaze of glory, but I soon learned the that comics' mentality was 1 Pred=1,000,000 Aliens, so from their point of view, the Pred is dominating this fight.  Bogus.

Totally agree.  It was made way back in the beginning of the Aliens vs Predator franchise, the early nineties, and there hasn't been a better depiction since.

What is that picture from?

The art is by Dave Dorman.  I first saw it on reprint issues of Dark Horse Presents #36.  It was also sold as a lithograph ages ago.  I've often regretted not buying it when I had the chance, but fortunately it's in the Aliens/Predator Panel to Panel collection, which is where I got it from.

Look at this picture again. The blade that passes through the Predalion's head is not connected to the Predators wrist.
