I finally got the Anthology on Blu-ray and was so excited to see Aliens as I have heard it is much better. Unfortunately, I think it may be too detailed. I know, sacrilege right? The problem is that in high definition the sets look all too much like sets and the model work is all too obvious. Watching the crawler and APC roll around I can now immediately see them as RC cars. The hanger set is all too staged. I don't even have a great TV. Maybe once I am used to it, they won't be such a distraction (I seem to remember feeling this way when DVD came out). Am I off my rocker?

It'll look even better - or worse in 4K.

You might have to muck around with the picture mode.  I've seen certain films in HD on certain TVs (specifically Star Trek 3 and Harry Potter and the one with time travelling Hermione) and there were scenes that came across as obvious sets.  Watching those film on different TVs don't have that problem.

This might help.
