I really enjoyed the Predator as an action comedy. But I totally get people not liking the tone. It wasn't a traditional Predator movie. I remember the reveal of  the Predator killer suit and I sunk into my chair. Not great

Eli

Like.... Why?

Nightmare Asylum

I don't remember The Predator's tone being a problem for me. I went in expecting action comedy and was excited for action comedy. Shane Black's great at that.

The problems lied in... just about everything else. Shitty script, even worse execution, the mangled editing, the autism nonsense, etc...

Ultimately this. I can't say I ever have any desire to revisit it myself, but if it brings new people into the fandom and sees success this way, I'm all for it! Just means the only way is up for any viewers being introduced to the Predator for the first time through The Predator!

Haha exactly!

RoguePred1987

So bizarre. I haven't seen it since theaters, but I'd always be willing to give the original version a chance.

Huntsman

Probably the people who haven't seen it.

The earlier script wasn't exactly great either - but I'd be willing to give it a watch with the same morbid curiosity in which I'd watch a regraded AvPR.

Slutty Badger

Clearly, people are being offered prize money for watching this crap.

CANNON

@Slutty Badger haha they must be. Either that or they are a newer generation that just didn't know any better.

The Predator was doomed before its birth, CEO said she chose Dekker's script because it didn't felt like
a predator movie.

Now, it's not a bad parody/comedy, but it was sold as a sequel, let's not forget that the first two movies
are masterpieces with a very strong replayability....So one could be very upset.

BigDaddyJohn

What irks me more now that time passed by is that even Shane Black's strong points (witty dialogue and interesting characters) weren't strong at all here.

Is that true? I didn't know that. If it is, that's insane.

razeak

I remember catching the rotten tomatoes for it before I saw it. I'm in the theater. It's like. Oh this is actually not too bad.

THEN WHAM. over the cliff we go.

2/10
