Be gentle fellas, this is a first draft. I have yet to add another layer for shading and abusing the airbrush tool in an attempt to give it a Giger look.
My goal is to avoid the Kenner "laugh when you first see it" Bull Alien look. Idk, I might have already made you laugh. It's my thinking that ideas are cheap, and what really matters is execution.
I always felt there was a missed opportunity in Alien 3 for a Minotaur like Alien to appear near the end, had Fincher and his producer overlords stuck with the Ox host from the workprint. In the first half of the movie, it could have looked like the runner we did see, and then at some point, like in the novelization, an inmate finds an alien husk, from it having molted into something else - which it never really elaborated on. For years, I have had this idea for a minotaur-like abomination of an alien, which would have fit the Labyrinth theme so well, and hunting the inmates at the end like an allegory to the myth. It would have been roughly the size of the Queen but have its own unique look.
The main issue is avoiding that silly toy-like quality, and that would come down to execution, in this case, design. The Kenner version had a poorly thought-out look. For example, the short little tail, when logically it ought to have had a longer tail than one from a human. The horns themselves simply looked tacked on and didn't seem congruent with what the alien genetic blueprint that "radically advanced artificial intelligence" would have incorporated for them. Keep in mind how silly the Kenner Queen looked in relation to the one James Cameron and Stand Winston designed, too. The concept of an Ox Alien, or 'minotaur-alien,' I think, could theoretically look cool.
