??? There's this thing called NDA's and i think she just broke hers...
(this feels like bullshit, at any rate)
I seriously doubt another "Doom" movie is going to have an NDA that contains "keep it secret". That's probably the last thing all vested parties want.
Please just let it be good, thats all I want. They done it for the games, let the movie has its redemption as well. If this news is true that is.
It should be primarily based on the comic, with some of the 2016 game's lore thrown in for good measure. ;)

Jean-Claude Van Damme stars as Major Razor Stone. Commander of an elite paramilitary unit and level 25 master black belt. Sent to the long abandoned mars military research center, Stone's unit is tasked with hunting down and eliminating all forms of extra-dimensional life that remains. This summer, justice will be dispensed in, "Doom: Hammer Down". Coming to a discount bin near you.

He wasn't available. Probably got a contract to do "Heavy Pain 5: Missionary of Death". ;)
Just actually involve Hell this time! I want some f**king Hellscapes!
Plot Synopsis:
"A studio realizes that they still have the rights to film adaptations of a video game franchise after its latest instalment turns out to be surprisingly popular. They scramble to create a shitty low budget direct to video film to milk some $$$ off of the work of more talented people."
Director is tweeting from the set.
No "Doom guy" this time around. It's a "Doom girl". Here's the lead:

Same here. Also more of Mars. I know Mars is in the first one, but it seemed like an afterthought. Other than a few establishing shots, it might as well have been set on Earth. They did nothing with the Mars setting.
I would love to see her beat the shit out of an Imp while her boot is over a Hell Knight's head. Throw in Mars, Hell, a damm good script, actual demons, chainsaw and double barrel shotgun and I'm good. Just go with the source already, pls.

I like that they kept the UAC logo form the game (it's on the wall on the right)
From trash with at least kinda okay actors to full trash, straight to DVD at best.
Without the Universal intro in the beginning this could be mistaken for a generic fan movie
Could I get the model number of the toaster they filmed this with?
Oh my god the cringe
Jesus, that looks aweful.
It's okay.
This is just step 1 of a larger plan.
There's still a book and cheap @$$ mobile game coming.
And, don't say you heard this from me but, I hear there's a cutscene
collage in the works.
Pretty cool eh?
" ...which carries shades of James Cameron's Aliens"

Wow. That's like Asylum level moviemaking.
Well at least it has hell this time.
at least it's using practicals
Jeez, that's as bad as I feared.
I'll never understand why they bother with movies like this.
Think of the good that money could've done if it went to foodbanks or st. Judes instead.
It looks like the first movie.
Also what's with the Predator sounds effects.

You beat me too it! Yeah what's with that?
EDIT: There was some show on FOX or CW (can't remember which) that also used Predator clicking sound effects for their monster.
It's a direct to video action movie filmed in Bulgaria. Like, 99% of those are terrible.

Where the hell is DOOM guy?
It's DOOM girl in this one.
Yes, yes, I know.
But it could've worked.
Just not with this actress based on the trailer. She's got all of the commanding authority of a wet paper bag.
I'm sure it'll be dire but I'm going to give it a go on the hopes of some Hell visuals.
The 05 movie will be better in movie terms most likely, but actually having Hell and not a bunch of mutants makes this a better Doom movie.
I kinda liked the 05 one.
Sorry, I'll get my coat.
There's only two types of DOOM movies I want to see.
1 - Something that's just completely over the top in its action/gore/lack of f***s just like the newer games, starring someone like The Rock or Terry Crews as Doom Guy.
2 - Something more like Doom 3 where there is more emphasis on horror and has a similar tone to Event Horizon.
This movie isn't either of those things.

I'm not going to lie, it's a terrible Doom movie, but I do enjoy it. If you forget it Doom related it's a decent Sci Fi Horror flick.
I enjoy the first film - sure it's not Doom but it's a good fun, brainless movie elevated mainly due to the strong leads.
This though ... er ... hmmm. Yer.
As it's own thing, the old Doom isn't terrible.
Also, lol >> Doom: Annihilation's debut trailer is so bad, Bethesda has officially disavowed it (https://www.pcgamer.com/doom-annihilations-debut-trailer-is-so-so-bad/)
No movie will ever work without DOOM guy.
Make DOOM movie great for once.
Looks worse than an Uwe Boll movie.
Pretty sad
I'm going to love it, of course.
I'm just upset Michael Pare isn't in it.

Maybe they'd approve if it came in a nylon bag.
^ Ouch. ^
I always imagined the 05 DOOM movie was a prequel to DOOM 3

I like the 05 one as a generic action-horror flick, it's got a lot going for it.
As a Doom movie it's pretty bad, though.

Daaaaaaaaaaaaaamn.
Its sad that people are blaming the quality of the movie on the lead actress rather than that the production is just piss poor. Like her acting sucks sure but it ain't all down on her either.
Shame. Its like a universal rule that game-movies are destined to fail. I always feel like its because people who make these movies never touched the game or only had very surface leveled experience with said games. Hell, sometimes it won't always be 100% good if the series creators themselves had a hand on it such as Ubisoft's hand in Assassin's Creed. The tone and feeling was down but the script and pacing was terrible at drawing in newcomers.
Is it because that whatever movie is delivered it won't be the movie that people had in their head of it should have been?
Resident Evil is the most (in)famous example of this, I think - fans of the game hate it, but it has made so much money on the Alice premise ... and she was never a character in the game. That said, she could be now - I've never played the games but I love the movies.
You're right in that it does seem to be a particular thing with games, though. Book adaptations seem to fare pretty well (by and large) but game adaptations are nearly always lambasted - even though the "book in your head" is always going to be different to whatever they've put on screen. (In some cases the film is only vaguely the book it came from - "The Running Man" springs to mind. I'll confess to never having read "Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep" - but I think the book is quite different to "Blade Runner").
I don't know about the movie people playing the games, though - apparently Anderson was totally obsessed with Resident Evil and his impassioned pitch to CapCom was what got him the gig - and Cap-Com themselves seemed to be happy with what he's done (given it has five sequels).
On the other hand, I'm sure Uwe never played any of the games that he's adapted.
It's an interesting question, man - I just don't know why they're so received so poorly all the time.

Well.... that actually looked ok I guess.
Yeah....I'm good on that. It looks slightly better produced than something from SyFy.
Yeah, I quite liked the looks of that too. I'm not expecting anything amazing from this, but I'm planning on giving it a fair shot.
It just looks so cheap :(

I do not trust those words.
I was mad that the original DOOM for not having more of a horror feel like Doom 3 (the only Doom I had played at the time).
Now that I've played all of them, and most recently DOOM 2016, anything that isn't a live action, gory action romp like DOOM 2016 will fall short.

Well that's just not going to materialize if he's working on a Doom film.

Good. There's never been a bad Doom game (although 3 and Eternal aren't to my taste) but with a Blomkslop Doom movie we'd be 0-3 on film.
I generally really like Blomkamp's movies so I'd me all for a Doom movie from him.
I think at the very least it would be very good looking with decent action. And it would have to be better than Doom: Annihilation, right? Right? :'(
