Ridley developing new Alien film (THR)

So, the realistic part of my brain is telling me that this is the Alien: Romulus sequel that Steve Asbell just confirmed, which Scott would presumably still be an active producer on.

But also.... I want to believe that he has it in him to direct one more....

I'm with you - I want to believe it as well and honestly I wouldn't be surprised if he did come back to helm another film.

Like so many on these message boards I believe it's probably just Romulus 2 he's producing. However, I would not be opposed to him finishing his prequels. Just for GOD'S SAKE please let it NOT be David in the engineer suit in the first film.

I'd be up for another movie whether it be another of Ridley Prequels completing the connection or a sequel to Alien Romulus, doubt they'll be another movie in the future that returns Sigourney Weaver as Ellen Ripley's, it's not 100% out of the realm of possibility but it's unlikely.

We should all be in agreement that if Ridley gets to make his last film in the franchise we can all sign a petition and have someone pester Disney with it, to veto David being in the chair, so hopefully if that pops up in one of the drafts they take it out knowing ahead of time how many people will be pissed
