Any chance this segment (link attached below) near the end of the film after the Derelict crashes will be included the same way? All the extra footage of the Engineer stumbling on the Derelict ship, quick shot of Engineer walking up to the crashed escape pod & pushing open the doors, etc.?  I assume/hope so, but just been watching Prometheus recently and looking for the extra scenes online again haha.

Nearly all of the footage of Elizabeth going up against The Last Engineer will be included in my finished Ninth Circle Edition of Prometheus, yes  :)

However, no footage of the Engineer talking will be inserted as I find them more frightening and mysterious when they have absolutely nothing to say to us.

Will your edit be similar to Evanus'? I ask as I consider that the best version of this film released, so far. Again, just wish for that edit using the open matte version over the blu-ray.

I won't be using the open matte for Covenant, no. I don't have it available to me to use and none of the deleted scenes and bonus content are in open matte format so it wouldn't make sense to use it. Sorry!

Both Prometheus and Covenant will be in 4K, though!

I've added a poll on whether I should use Mutant Fifield or Alien-esque Fifield for the attack scene in the Prometheus' cargo bay. Please vote which you'd rather see in the Ninth Circle Edition! Thanks!

Are you adding in the Covenant extended shower scene?

I plan too. It's gonna be hard to clean it up due to its lower quality but I'll give it a try!

Sean Harris' performance might be effective and more real, but I hate his design. I prefer the Alien-esque one.

Is mutant the one in the film?

Prometheus is coming together nicely! I've found that working on it for an hour here and an hour there is much easier than several-hour-long editing sessions. It's not so exhausting and it's keeping me interested in completing it!

Once I get to Covenant, that thing will come together like a dream!

For whatever reason with my old Chaos Edition of Prometheus, I had loads of trouble with the 2K file I ripped from the Blu-Ray when I would throw it into Final Cut Pro to edit it, especially during the Engineer/Trilobite sequence. The file would glitch and get weird green lines across the playback window and these would bake into the exported file of the edit for an unknown reason. I tried re-ripping it several times thinking something was going wrong in the rip process, but the glitches stayed whenever I'd use it in Final Cut. It's why I never bothered releasing the original Ninth Circle Edition of Prometheus with my NCE of Covenant in 2021. I felt defeated.

I happy to report the 4K file I've ripped from the UHD disc is playing back really nicely! No trouble so far.

I'm again using, and crediting, James Rivers (aka Jimmy Delaroja) for his fine work on completing the special effects in many of the deleted scenes he originally used in his Workprint edition of Prometheus years ago. I think I may be one of the few people he ever bothered giving his original 22GB Workprint to. I still have it and I'm reincorporating his work in to my NCE so it feels complete. I hope Jimmy is doing well. He hasn't been active here on the boards in a couple years and I had him as a friend on Facebook, but his account vanished one day.

I also think I found a really nice way to reinsert "The Quiet Eye" viral once Shaw finds out Weyland had been asleep on the ship and before her talk with Janek, rather than having it as one of the introductory scenes at the start of the film. Again, I want to mitigate the feeling of several false starts in these edits.

Wouldn't Quiet Eye be repeating things we already know?

Might work between the head exploding and David talking to Weyland with the visor.  Or just have it as a echoey voice over during the establishing shots of the ship.

Yeah I love the vibe of Quiet Eye, but it is very much supplemental.

I can absolutely see how it feels after the Engineer head explodes! For sure. My reasoning for placing it after Shaw talks to Weyland was cause I liked the ironic juxtaposition between the two conversations. Elizabeth's pure, unbridled excitement for what she believes are the answers to life's biggest questions and asking Weyland to get her there versus this really harsh exchange with the man she convinced to go out to the ass-end of space to find those answers, but then instead ends up with copious amounts of trauma.

I'll do a screen recording of both and upload them to google drive and see what ya'll's opinions are then. You'll be able to watch them without needing to download anything to your computers.

If we aren't feeling it, I have an idea for splicing some of the dialogue from "The Quiet Eye" into the beginning of the movie.

Orrrr.. I could replace what David sees in Shaw's dream sequence of her as young girl with "The Quiet Eye"... Or just simply relocate "The Quiet Eye" after that dream sequence.. decisions...

Maybe find a shot of David looking at a screen before everyone wakes up and have Quiet Eye playing on it?

It still a bit repetitive since she's talking about the same things holo-Weyland talks about.

Hey GrimmVision!

Just wanted to say how cool it is that you are working on this project and I cant wait to see the final version! I'm one of the few who genuinely loves Prometheus and appreciated the vision Ridley was going for in the film, even with its flaws. Thank you so much for putting your time and effort into this project, I'm sure it's going to turn out amazing!

Cheers
