Predator is clearly the stronger movie out of the bunch but, when I want to watch a Predator flick, my go to is usually Predator 2. It has a good balance of fun 90s action and banter but then does amazing with adding more lore to the creature.

Exactly

Love Predator 2 the most. I also love The Predator. Probably one of five people in the world who do. Has some really great action and banter.

Agreed. Also Schaefer dropping snark jokes in every line of dialogue was especially painful.

Idk, this was what I loved the most about it

I was reading Cold War yesterday and Scheafer was mostly annoying.  I had deja vu for TP banter. I don't remember if original Concrete Jungle had also such amount of it, but in CW it was not easy to bear.

It's funny. I wanted so badly to tell you yesterday that I had an article coming out the very next day on the very subject of Mark Verheiden shaping Predator 2 when you brought it up, but I had to wait.

Wow! I really enjoyed this video. I've often been aware of these similarities (what fan couldn't be?) so it was nice to see it explored in a bit more depth.

I actually reread Concrete Jungle yesterday and I thought to myself how cool it was be if Dark Horse had a line of straight to home media animated movies. They're very successful for DC.

Animated films based on DH's Aliens, Predator and AVP properties would be very warmly received I think.

Or course, the moment's probably passed now.

Predator would suit better as animated movie than Alien IMO

I think you could do a lot more with the style of animation with a Predator animated thing than you could an Alien. Though I think both would work in an animation format. Just, like always, Predator is a bit more flexible with it.

100% Agree!  :)

When I was a kid I preferred the original. And I think a major part of that it because I also greatly preferred the design of the creature itself. To this day, I still think the first creature looks way more intimidating and memorable than the one in the second. But nowadays I find that I have a lot more fun with the second movie. And weirdly, despite probably watching the first movie a lot more when I was a kid, I find that I have a lot more nostalgic fondness for my memories of watching the second. It's weird. I love the sweaty, gritty, colourfully vibrant thing the second film has going on.

I watched Predator at the cinema last night. It was a pretty surreal experience to be honest.

Amazing to see it on the big screen and added a whole new dimension to my viewing experience.

I wonder if you went to the same showing as Hicks..!

That's awesome goose. Seeing these films on a big screen again. I wish I had such an opportunity near me. Very jealous!

This was my first time seeing it in the cinema. I was born in 1987 and then missed the 30th Anniversary release back in 2017.

Thought the surround sound in the cinema really added to the viewing experience, especially during the Predator vision POV scenes.

I've only seen it 3 times in the cinema myself. I caught the anniversary showing back in 2017 (was it really that long ago?), once in a double-bill showing I went to at Prince Charles (also the only time I've seen P2 on the big screen) and again at the weekend. I always love seeing these films up on the big screen.
