What constitutes "current"?  Sea of Sorrows is way beyond WYR in terms of timeframe.

Sea of Sorrows and the original Titan trilogy land in "Tier 3" likely because they connect to AVP Rage War and AVP Fire & Stone (those damn Predators!)

Not sure what's wrong with a Tier system in regards to an ever evolving Canon? Star Wars has literally been doing it for decades with Leland Chee. It's a really inclusive way to acknowledge the vast array of stories in the franchise if you ask me.

And technically "Phalanx" is the farthest out (shout out to you for reaching out to Scott Sigler and getting that whole timeline mapped out!)

To be fair, even the shadows trilogy fits snugly into tier 2

Taking Weyland Yutani report into account alongside the RPG

Yeah, the Shadow Trilogy has too many contradiction and oversights to be Tier 2.

It's Tier 3 - basically because the trilogy contains minor inconsistencies that can be explained away as myth or hearsay.

Quote from: SM on Feb 12, 2025, 05:12:16 AMWhen I was working with Fox (which was a while back now so I'm guessing no longer current), SoS wasn't demoted due to links with Rage War. Rage War was just ignored.

Would Phalanx get ditched because Sigler wrote an AvP follow up?

It's still lumped in with Tier 2 (canon until a movie shows otherwise) which I realize completely contradicts my logic for why the OG trilogy got demoted ;D

So it's one of those silly scenarios where it's canon to Alien while its sequel is relegated to AVP. f**king licensing is going out of their way to create a A/P/AVP multiverse lol

I personally enjoy the crossovers but realize that a lot of folks prefer the franchises to be separate and licensing demands them to be separate so here we are.

Ripley even says we will take our chances in the shuttle. They had discussed there was only room for two. They might have planned a 3rd cryobed but I don't think 3 people can go into hypersleep but at that stage they didn't care. They just wanted off the nostromo.
