Been having a bit of a X-Men marathon lately. Saw Days of Future Past last night. Still a fantastic film. Then watched Apocalypse. I don't think it's as bad as people said it was but I liked it better than First Class.

The Unholy (2021)

Adaptation of the James Herbert novel Shrine. Dear god it's boring. It's one of the most generic horror movies I've ever seen. Worst thing is, Herbert is a good author, and it had the potential to be so much better. I've not even read the novel, but with the ending scene I could tell how much better it could have been with a better build up.

My 11 year old daughter is working her way through all the Marvel films and I've been sneaking peaks here and there. I'll admit whilst I enjoyed the majority of Marvel films I'm not hugely invested in them (that is most likely my DC bias there maybe).

Civil War which I found long and boring (the first time) still felt a bit bloated in parts. I also felt the video reveal of Tony's parents at the end was a bit too convenient.

She's watching Guardians of the Galaxy now which is easily my favourite. Superb ensemble cast, perfect music and a great fun story to boot.

More documentaries than movies.

Smoke and Mirrors: The Story of Tom Savini

Love Tom Savini  :)

In Search of Darkness: Parts 1 & 2

Two feature-length documentaries both clocking in at 4 and half hours each about 80s horror movies.  Enjoyed both of them.

Color out of Space (2.5/5)
Great story muddled with over exposed color and too long of a movie, easily could've shaved off some time. Some scenes I'm thinking "Yeah, this is going to be good!" Followed by "Why the hell does it feel like I'm watching a made for tv Sci-Fi movie!?"

The Green Knight (2.75/5)
Another great story that just gets lost along the way for me. Some great shots but I think it either needed to be more concise, or knock off 15min of runtime. (I do love what A24 is coming out with though!)

Finch (2.25/5)
Best way I could say this would be that I'd rather read it as a book, than watch it as a movie. (Plus I felt Chappie did it better!)
