The Train

I mostly watched this because it was directed by John Frankenheimer, who also did Ronin, one of my favourite action movies ever.

I don't normally do old black and white films, and there was plenty of the corniness, crap acting and terrible dubbing that typically puts me off them, but holy crap, the "special effects" in this mostly consisted of actually crashing trains and blowing up an entire rail yard for real with a metric f**kton of dynamite. And you can't beat doing stuff for real like that.

Man this movie was so good. Good music, great visuals and story with some solid acting. Very bizarre and bloody...easily one of the better movies I've seen in quite some time.

Palm Springs..

...surprisingly good movie. Any Sam berg is hit and miss for me but this was a funny and clever take on the whole "repeating the same day" type of movie.

Original or remake?

The 90s one. Not sure which one that is.

Ignore me, there isn't a remake, I somehow got it crossed with the Stallone remake of Get Carter

... and The Phantom Menace with the family. Still get a buzz outta this one despite it's flaws. My young daughters love Darth Maul.

In that case I've only seen the original.

One of the longest opening credits sequences I've ever seen
