The Xeno model looks really good. The hip area could use a little more work, but the rest looks wonderful. The crusher alien doesn't look too bad either.
QuoteYou'll also visit the famous ships, the Nostromo and the Sulaco.
Either thats a mistake or magical things are happening in this game.
HOW R WE SUPPOSED TO VISIT NOSTROMO.....IT WAS BLOWN UP. Btw, Amazing article :)
Meet the Alien King??
Well at least there's no mention of blade arms so this guy can be safely ruled out

Where do u see any mention of a king?
He mentions a huge alien bigger than the queen, but I'm wondering if he's mistaking the queen for something else.
I really hope its not a silent protagonist. Those are so damn old.

... I'm wondering if he's mistaking the queen for something else.
I read in some other previews, that it was in fact the Queen.
We can see the Charger/Crusher Xeno on page 3 bottom right picture.
It looks like a quadruped Praetorian with bigger arms yet still retains the Bio Mechanical looks, I am fine with its design. Not let just see why it exists.

Either they confirmed a Multiplayer map or its a mistake. There is no way in hell can they explain the Nostromo still existing.
Even having similar classed vessels would be hard to explain since its 57-60 years since ALIEN.
Here's a much better quality version of the Crusher MFTP just sent me:

Nice.
I also noticed what the Smart Gunner's armor says.
"Front Towards Enemy"
My friend says the crusher looks very zergish. I'm inclined to agree, but that isn't a bad thing.
Is a big ugly motherf**ker.
This is awesome! Thanks for the scans.
So A:R didn't happen. Good news!
Also it was a nice touch adding all of the games that Aliens has inspired. Pretty much every notable FPS.
Epic. I'll have to read the full article later when I get some free time. The crusher does look a bit Zerg-ish, but still very much has the Alien's bio-mechanical makeup.
Although the Warrior model is not an exact replica of the ones in "Aliens", it does look pretty damn good and actually quite similar in aesthetic. My biggest gripe is how GB seems to be making them too damn small. Which has been a never ending issue with their portrayal in pretty much any media except the films they're based on. And that's irritating to say the least...
I like the design, looks like a fat preatorian
Well, I´m no more so concerned about the Crusher Xeno. Judged by the picture it´s not that bad and it has some Runner elements too. Not sure if it´s just from the muzzle flash, but I even dig the brownish tint to the texture.
Ikarop is it possible that we can get the front art of the magazine? I mean the original art and not a scan, I'm speachless about this news.
ERROR: There was no Alien: Ressurection.

I've officially requested the print press kit already. It usually becomes available a few months after the assets have been featured on the magazines so it might take a while. It will release eventually. And if they decide not to release it via official channels... :)
Christ, I want this game so damn bad!! Why do we have to wait until next year?! WWWWHHHHYYYY??!!!!!
Just looked at this, the game looks absolutely fantastic. 8)
Crusher looks great; dumb name, but it looks cool and fitting.
I don't like the name either, but It's just a nickname, it's not like it'd pop up over his head in the game.
lol Alien on the front wants a piggy back ride
crusher...huh...interesting aproach, waiting for fox to intervine bitching about how they own the series and totally f**k it up like theyve been doing since 1992,
and i guesse people play the voices of the aliens in the game, check out this link i was looking to see if lance henrikson was up to anything cool and saw colonial marines at the top of the list and saw in the cast details there are voice actors for the aliens.......
wonder how this will turn out

Not really. In today's aviation the DC-9 first flew in 1965, yet Northwest Airlines still had them in their fleet when they were picked up by Delta (not the originals, but updated models) when I worked for them in 2009. A lot of airlines run aircraft that are 20 years old. With the US Navy we had the USS Kitty Hawk which was around from 1961 to 2009, or the USS Enterprise, which was commissioned in 1961, and is planned for decom in 2013.
It's not hard to believe that even more expensive ships in a space fleet would stay in service even longer with various upgrades here and there.
True, I suppose they could be updated models of the Nostromo similar class freighters. But the exact same ones floating around wouldn't make much sense.

Sound effects. They do this sort of thing all the time. You should look at what other work those people have done. Plus it could potentially be for multiplayer when playing as the Xenos and say voice commands are issued or something like that.
WTF? Visit the Nostromo? They better have a time machine or something, because IT IS GONE!!!
meh.
It is nice to have previewer who mostly knows what the f**k they are talking about.
Narcissus maybe? Or jockey ship?
If the Nostromo comes back Ima wtf for serious.
It looks like some guns will have addable silencers/suppressors judging by the pistol the Marine is holding in the picture where they are welding the door shut.
:(
Maaan.... looks sweet, but it sounds like this game is going to be another bug hunt. I'm getting a bad Zombie Survival game vibe here for some reason. The Aliens are short/small and seem to be weak so to speak and the emphasized danger here seems to be on mini-bosses and such so that the everyday warrior can act as cannon fodder.
That's a valid point, all the previews mention loads and loads of xenos, so one or two alone won't be much of a threat, hate to see that happening to a killing machine.
I heard somewhere main parts of the ship survived the blast. Dont know how but the main explosions we see are the cargo and engines. This is loose information so don't quote me on it
Had such high hopes for the game. But after seeing this crusher... meh :-\ Why can't they just stick to the canon versions?! As if chet wasn't horrible enough >:(
Did we already know about the contracting of Syd Mead to design the interiors, and the hiring of two Battlestar Galactica senior writers? And apparently there will be gameplay systems to represent every bit of equipment we see the marines using in Aliens. Combine that with a pretty engine which looks nothing like Unreal Tech 3, and it sounds like a seriously promising title...
As for the Nostromo, I'm betting on either a multiplayer map, or the Nostromo's class of freighter making an appearance in the game (like the Ferarco in AvP '99). Perhaps as a derelict, or something like that.

I dunno some dev said even a single xeno is a big threat.
And it should be that way. Fewer hard to kill rather than loads of easy ones.
Hopefully they'll have a nightmare difficulty that will greatly up the damage resistance on the Aliens.
I can see what you guys are saying, but there has to be some difficulty curve for newcomers.
Mostly just the same information from E3 but there was something about the enthusiasm of the writer. Made me happy and excited to. Some fantastic screenshots there.
What i dont understand is how did the Orbital Nuke of LV-426 go horribly wrong? It went ''Bang'' Didn't it.Even the Nostromo,i hope they tell this story well. After Duke Nukem im gonna be a skeptic, not putting all my eggs in one basket.
Oh damn Predxeno's gonna shit himself when he reads that article.

There have been dozens of aliens tie in novels and comics, but none of them have been considered canon. 20th century fox, owners of the series, haven't decided if Colonial Marines will be, but Randy says they're open to it.
My fears about the crusher have subsided a little after seeing that pic. It doesn't look as bad as I feared.
Funny that how it looks is apparently all that matters...

About syd mead designing the interiors let's remember that it was Ron Cobb who designed almost all the iconic shapes and structures that defined the alien Tech universe corridors, airlocks, operations, medlab, etc. I like syd mead designs but i feel he is too domotic, let's hope that his designs fits well into de franchise

There was no orbital nuke.
People seem to forget this because of the exchange of lines between Ripley, Hicks and Burke. "Nuke the site from orbit. Its the only way to be sure"
Obviously a orbital nuke would have been more effective than the reactor malfunctioning, but for the sake of this game, Ripley and company didn't think of that.
For the purpose of the game, the reactor's explosion still would have killed all humans at the colony but who knows about the Xenos.
God damn this game looks good!
Looks awesome, smells rank...

Yea my mistake, had a brain fart there. But if the Reactor blew up how would handleys hope be still standing,Guess only time will tell.
Jeeze, why do the aliens have to be so small?
The Xenomorphs are not small. In the cover of the PC Gamer Mag, the Xeno jumping could easily have its legs down and not be jumping and still be at least a head taller than Winter who I will assume is 6 ft - 6 ft 2 in. Now that would make the Xeno 7 ft - 7 ft 2 in. Still 4-6 inches short of the minimum height.
P.B. is right. Arm length and especially head shape tells the f**k up.
Not sure why nobody sees the ALIENS anymore in right sizes. Just look at the ALIENS hero puppet and somebody in charge should get a feeling for proportions....
Exactly.
I want me 8 ft friends back.

Someone go complain about it's tail blade elsewhere.
But if Xeno jumped on your back, then there's no way you could shake him off, even if you're Arnold...Remember with what ease Kane's Son grabbed Parker in the first movie? BTW, is that Xeno mounting him ???

i don't think so, i will have to look at them side by side to be sure though, there is a page long randy pitchford interview though, so that would be extra,
like i said the article is pretty similar, working all with the same information as far as i can tell (it even has a timeline very similar to the one in PC Gamer) it's just written by a different writer,
I've just confirmed with Gearbox and Sega that the mention of the Nostromo in the PC Gamer article is indeed a typo. According to Gearbox: "We aren't doing any time travel in this game."
The screenshots used on the magazine are expected to release in about 2-3 weeks.

People, "Nuke the site from orbit..." means drop a nuke from orbit, not detonate a nuke IN orbit...
We know.
The only time you detonate a nuke in orbit is to disable a wide array of communications with your emp, which would cover a much broader area (it is actually what MI for the US is most afraid of, instead of terrorist detonating a nuke within a city since at a certain height even a tactical nuke could disable a huge portion of the eastern seaboard, or if you placed one high enough in the atmosphere the entirity of mainland usa).
To do damage to an enemy who needed no tech to keep coming after you however, a direct strike would be neccessary.
I read that the explosion of the reactor went mainly upward, so the colony was not destroyed, but heavily damaged, and that large underground portions of the colony remain unscathed. If I find the article I will post it, unless someone already has.
