Yeah, Fox seriously thought Alien might make even more than Star Wars just before it was released.

While I appreciate their confidence in the picture, I don't understand how they thought an R-rated film could outperform a PG film.

When we spoke to Tom Woodruff he said the nude shoot wasn't for the film, it was just for Sigourney. They don't seem to have ever been released (assuming he wasn't fibbing.)

James Cameron's Derelict Ship sketch for Aliens.  This same sketch was used for an issue of Cinefantastique in 1986.  The small image on the left of the article.
