One thing. I thought the scene with the aliens on the pyramid looked a bit unrealistic because the aliens positions looked too organized. I mean their positions were not chaotic enough. They crawled next to each other, like a team, not over each others like some wild animals attacking their prey at the top. They crawled in a way too organized in my opinion. But I stil love it ;D

Is this the final trailer or no? dont they usualy make 2 or 3 diff trailers for a movie? anyway if ant of you notice in this one right after the aliens hand scratches celtis preds mask theres a quick shot of a Pred getting killed by like 3 or more aliens, its really quick but if your good enough you can pause at that moment and see it.It looks sweet you an see the Preds glowing blood all over the place.Man this movie looks bomb.This will prob be the summer blockbuster to beat but since its coming out at the end of the summer I guess its going to beat all off the other compitition that comes before it,Spidey 2 pff sounds like a good trophy for a pred,I robot sounds like big willy styles is gonna get face hugged and Riddick well hes gonna get skinned alive baby.But I hope they dont have that stupid thrashy metal crap during the movie like in this preview because that would be so cheesy.

This is 100% not the final trailer, I was just on the avp movie web site and if u go to the trailers/videos link you will see this one is calles trailer teaser 1 and they have a new blank space for the actual trailer so man I cant wait for that bad boy seeong how sweet this little guy was

maurice remember aliens can think as a team... remember aliens????they cut the power??and they found the way in to the marines and they looked organized plus aliens r part of a collective (drones) and the 2 aliens that wouldnt attack ripley in the queens lier they must of been organized allso the 2 aliens that killed the weekest to get out in 4 they was organized as they knew the humans was off guard..any why liked the trailer but i hope they dont play rock music like that in the film or when an alien and predator fight cus it will be cheesy!!

About the aliens were to organized to me thing, that is possible!!!! Aliens have some instinct that can make them not stepping on each other all the time. Tell me, when did you saw aliens stepping on each other in the movies. Look when they are coming upon our heroes in the lab, they are all one behind the other in a squeezee mather but no one is stepping on each other. As for the traila thing, that that we saw was only a exclusive preview but not the traila, it was too short to be. A traila usually stand 2-4 mins, sometimes more. 1 of the traila for the lord of the rings was 4.30 mins long! and what we saw yesterday was maybe around 1-1.30 min. And I dont think that there will be some metal or rock in the traila ya know. They will certainly use the orchestral thing to put us in the thone of the movie. But I dont expect to see much new things, that would be a mistake from PA to show too many of his film before time. But Only to see it on big screen will be something!!! everyone will get out of the movie saying Whoa have you saw that traila!!! and yes riddick was not so bad BUT have you saw that traila!!! Anyway, I`m sure that PA will release a last traila just before the D-Day. like 1-7 days befor it.

If you're thinking about the same shot as I, then is probably the part on top of the pyramid, after the aliens over run the predators. They start killing the Predators will one Predator tries to save his arm with the counting self destruct mechanism until it blows. About the alien as team. I know this. But the problem is that I can make my self understandable in English about the thing that I mean. I don't mean organized like they act as a team, but the CGI. The aliens climbed the pyramid in such patrons that they looked a bit fake. I hope you understand my "thing".... :)

Maurice: I think what you're saying is that your problem is with the AI that the CGI uses for the aliens. It looks like they were just programmed to climb in a certain pattern and they're all doing it the exact same way without any difference between them, causing them to look too ordered and less "real". I have to respectfully disagree, but I do see what you're saying. Personally I think it was too fast and dark to really say anything for sure. Me: I think Hell Alien was saying that even if Riddick turns out to be a so-so movie, people will come out talking about the AvP trailer more than the movie they actually saw. Also, Deaconrage was referring to the scene where the Predator was on his back on the ground, holding his arms up to defend against the half-dozen aliens that were swarming up over him. There was a splash of bright green pred blood on the stone floor near his head, but his head was still there. Almost looked like the poor guy was panicing, but heck, I can't blame him in a situation like that. ;D

Just for my own curiosity, and I know the timing of this question is bad (so my apologies to Darkness), but who is it that manages to save the Quicktime movies from the streaming format into a downloadable format? I'd like to be able to keep the theatrical trailer on my computer whenever it comes out. Oh well, no biggie. Once again, a big thank you goes out to Darkness. This was a heck of a site.

I just spoke with someone who saw Riddick. It featured another trailer than the internet version. The trailer in theatre before riddick is better. It shows even the cockpit view of the predator ship. A slower (extended?) vision of the pyramid scene. And more...

I just saw Riddick, Even thought I was dissapointed with the sequel to the almightly pitch black, the 3 miniute AVP trailer was worth the admission alone. It was amazing!!!!!1

So, the traila was with riddick. not that of a suprise but I was almost expecting a not with riddick thing. glad its not the case. Anyway, a 3 min traila is twice as long as the one we saw with mtv and access. And as I told ya all, the ppl getting out of the cinema are more talking about the traila than the movie!!! ;D

My friend saw it too, he said that the pyramid scene was longer and not as fast so youcan see thats it well done. You also see more of the fights and a bit more of the queen. He also said that he saw a predalien near the end of the traila but hes not sure of that. I`m gonna wait to see the movie Traila myself to confirm it. And just in case that you guys didnt read it, planet avp is in discussion with fileplanet to host galaxy!!!!! there is still hope!!!!!

I just got back from seeing Riddick. The AVP trailer was the second shown. It was pretty much the 3rd Featurette added to the Access Hollywood footage, and the Apple Exclusive Trailer. Plus footage of the ship taking them to the location, Lance Henriksen saying that the pyramid is #,000(don't remember the number) feet under the surface. It also showed a lot more of the people than previous trailers.

That figures. For some reason, whenever a particular movie plays on more than one screen at a particular theater you can't count on the trailers being the same. When I went to go see Return of the King the first time I saw the new Spider-Man 2 trailer, but every other time after that I got a different screen and all it had were leftover trailers and nothing new. The only way to be sure to see the AvP one would be if your theater has Riddick only on one screen. :-\

You got it ;) I'm hearing that the Hoyts movie theaters are using AvP popcorn bags now. I have a Loews Theater near me, and they haven't even had a single poster for AvP yet. They have 4 Spider-man 2 posters. FOUR. And one giant, three-sided cardboard stand for it. I'm sure it'll be an okay movie, but talk about overkill! After that there used to be three Day after Tomorrow posters, and now there's three Shark's Tale posters. Still no sign of AvP in and way, shape, or form. If they have the new trailer before Riddick, though, I'll call it even.

I've gotten that from a few people, too. Pretty much the usual, "They took two dead franchises and threw them together to squeeze the last bit of money out of them," and, "They're only doing this because they're riding on the success of Freddy vs Jason", which is, of course, ridiculous. People who say that don't know about the DECADE of stories and merchandise that's been continually coming out for this franchise. Hey guys, sorry to step in your lil conversation, but the thing of the avp will suck thing has got to me to. It sucks and they dont even know why they are saying this so indeed its dumb. But I went to see riddick to and know what happened, we saw the traila avp was the 2 one and after maybe 10 sec that the movie has beggins, it all went dark and we got passes for tomaro. And everyones was talking about the traila and I`v talked with the guys that said that it was going to suck and he said that he was saving money for the thing! ;D we have more adept!

I saw Riddick at a matinee and there was no trailer. Found out that the second print screening later that afternoon would have it so I sat through Garfield (God help me) and snuck in to the the trailer. Absolutely badass! Here's a quick rundown: It begins with a view of the earth from space, then we cut to Weyland informing the team of a pyramid found beneath the ice in Antarctica. We see the team in the snow, they find a massive tunnel structure the appears to lead straight down into the ice (if I remember correctly, they throw a flare in to see how deep it is). We actually see the pyramid under the ice in some kind of cavern and we hear Weyland say "Let's make history". The security team looks around, there's some dialogue and then everyone is ambushed by the Predators (one of the team scans a flashlight past a row of Predator statues when one of them moves and launches a spear at them). We see a montage of footage including new shots of the Queen suspended by chains, an Alien leaping over a Predator in slow motion, what appears to be fresh human hosts lying on the altars shown in the previous trailers. We hear a voice saying, "They set up a trap", then Lex responds, "They didn't come here to hunt us. We're in the middle of a war." We get two title cards that flash on screen: IT'S OUR PLANET... BUT IT'S THEIR WAR. Then we see one of the team members scream out at the Predator, "You ugly son of a...", before he's cut off by another montage of action scenes. That's pretty much all I can remember but it f**king kicked ass! Damn, I hope Apple posts this trailer soon.

Actually, during the shots, you see alot of the queen, you can see a bit of her new waist wich I think is awsome! And the pred is not trowing a spear so to say, it was actually the net, its kind of a net spear. And we can clearly see the pred being shred apart in this one wich I found very cool!!! just hope that the alien will at least win 1 1-1. You know mano to mano. And I liked the way that the guy said you ugly son of a... was cool . think that we are up for some good acting in this movie. And I think that I saw the pred alien near the end like my friend said to me.

Actually, the Predator throws a spear at an attacker but the scene makes a clever cut to Stafford getting netted instead. I did a frame by frame. Anyway, as AdamJZ said, there was no rock music in it. It was orchestral, similar to the music at the end of the new Spider-Man 2 trailer.

I'm already hearing buzz from some friends that saw Riddick tonight, but everyone one of them that saw the AvP trailer said that it was met with an *extremely* positive attitude. Not only is the new trailer "fabulous and impression-making", but even non-fans are taken by it. This movie just might make it after all. :) And on a side note, I think Anderson really might have just made the best movie of his career. It'd be great if it were true!

Tell me about it. RIDDICK had a packed crowd in a big auditorium and the AVP trailer was the only preview that received applause. It was really cool too because the theater was pretty quiet when all of the other trailers played (they made a bit of a rumble with the new EXORCIST trailer) but as soon as AVP was over you could hear the crowd buzzing. It was awesome!

Hell Alien, there was no rock of any kind in this trailer. I wonder if the MTV/Internet preview might actually be an alternate trailer that is showing up in a few theaters. This new internet preview is confusing some people, most major movie sites on the net are calling it the new THEATRICAL trailer and the length of the clip coupled with the rock music seems to be pissing people off. The real trailer is WAY better than the one released on the net today.

Yeah, it's only in theaters. I wonder why they chose to release this internet preview instead. Like I said, it's confusing some people who think it's the full trailer. There was also a few scenes in the new trailer that I remember, one had an Alien wrapping it's tail around the leg of the Celtic Predator and pulling him to the ground. The other was a scene of the Queen in a foggy silhouette, you could make out the outline of her crown which gave me goosebumps, and we also see a shot of Sebastian trying to crawl out of a stone pathway that is closing in on him.

Sounds like the Access Hollywood preview is what most of the theatrical trailer is based on. Kinda neat, because I loved that music. Oh, and I caught one scene in there that goes by real fast, but it's a great shot, but it shows the Queen breaking free from her chains. ;D

It's in the theatrical trailer *and* the Access Hollywood preview. It shows the queen pull her head down, then the camera shows the top of her crown tearing the chains free. It's about 53/54 seconds into that one.

I didn't really mind it, but diehard fans of the Alien franchise are calling this the last straw that's killing their franchise by turning it into a hardcore, heavy metal, explosions and special effects crapfest. I don't agree, but heavy metal had no place in the first two alien movies, and seeing it in this preview leads them to believe that AvP has gotten rid of everything that made Alien great.

Hell alien: Same here! My problem is that I see too many fans being WAY too jumpy about something like this, and they jump to conclusions about everything. I've seen enough movie promotions to know that some things are done a certain way for advertising, and yet the movie itself won't necessarily be like that. In this case I KNOW that there won't be heavy metal music in the movie (and not just because anderson already said THERE WOULDN'T BE), so I'm not going to freak out over it. Other people prefer to rant over every little detail that they don't like. Go fig. :)

And yes, for the record I don't think any kind of band music belongs in these movies. It's a cinematic movie that relies on orchestral background music. The only exceptions I can make is like in Predator when Long Tall Sally was playing on the radio. That's fine, it fit, and it wasn't part of the soundtrack (actually I think it was, but it was part of the scene).

too tell you the truth i thought the MTV spot was better than the apple trailer. i know the quality is far better on the apple version, but the add was slightly different at the end whe nthe 3 doomed predators are battling the swarm of aliens. it was a little longer and went better with the music. who is doing the music for AvP anyway...anyone know? i wish it was alan silvestri, cuz that rock crap in the trailer was too much.

You know, I kinda see what you're talking about, but I'm pretty sure that's the scene from one of the featurettes of the alien lunging downwards and taking a mouthful of the Pred's upraised hand. :-\ I'd love to get a sneak peek of the predalien, but I would think that they'd leave the hybrid as a suprise in the movie.

About the 3rd featurette thing, we dont see his mouth but look at the rear of the head, its not really like the other aliens. Its bit larger and with several more things on it.

I think Darkness said in a script he read of the movie that the predalien doesn't show up until the last page. If that script is real, then my guess is that after Lex leaves the main pred character pops, the hybrid slithers out, shrieks, and cuts to credits. sorta like what Godzilla's ending was like. I hope this isn't how it goes, mostly because I want to see an adult predalien going after the preds.

Anyway, the movie is gonna tell this. just hope that the pred alien actually does something interesting in the movie. And I HOPE that hes not going rogue cuz that will suck big time!!! there is no rogue in the aliens society exept the damn comics but they are not good sources at all

Ah, but in the movies there hasn't been anything to say that there *couldn't* be a rogue alien. If a predalien turns out to inherit aggressive genes from the Predator it might be overly aggressive to everything, even its own kind. I don't really want this to happen, but I don't think I'd be that upset if it did.

****ing brillant. I've just watch the new trailer and I was blown away, literally out of my seat. Hey galmorzu, about the rogue thing, I really doubt it, cuz I dont think that PA would dare to touch that could piss off too many ppl or make them say shit about the aliens. And for the predalien thing , really could love to see it more clearly but can you try to print it and send the thing to darkness.?

Yeah, but remember the Queen ticked off a lot of people when Cameron first made her, it's to be expected when you add something new to the alien mythos, good or bad. A crazed Predalien might still be brought under control by its Queen, but maybe it's just really nasty if other Aliens get in its way, like wild dogs can be. I kinda like the idea. Heck, in AvP2 do you ever see predaliens in the same group as normal aliens? It might be possible that they can coexist, they just need their personal space. ;D Actually, I wouldn't worry about it. I really doubt PA would do something like this, but personally I think it works in a way.

You can see a predalien with aliens in the first avp on the 5-6 level of the marine campaign at the end or was it with the pred? anyway, it would be dumb to make a rogue in this maybe rebel on the sides but not entirely rogue ya know. just like the kind of guy that will want and push the others a bit to have the kill or something

i didnt read everybodys replys, but.. i think the rock music suited that clip well, rock music goes well with the predators, and i prob would be mad if rock music was the theme for AvP for the final trailer. but i thought it suited it well. this clip favored the preds. i belive. showed them alot more.

Well, I finally saw the theatrical trailer today. It was head and shoulders above that apple exclusive preview. Moreso, even. It had an amazing buildup to the movie, the kind where you weren't sure what the movie was about. They talked about pyramids, sacrifices, temples, but then you heard the sound of a predator. People started whispering ALL OVER THE THEATER! It was fantastic! Then when they finally showed the alien egg opening up, a guy in the row across from me went, "Oh s**t!" I was grinning like a kid in a toy store. People were talking about this trailer even after the next one was over. They did a great job, it looked very well filmed (great cinematic shots), and the music was awesome. I gotta say, it seems like once people see this trailer opinion of this movie will skyrocket. I think we may have a hit on our hands! ;D

lol, I knew before this that it'll be a good movie, but after seeing this trailer I think the naysayers may have less to pick at now then they did with the apple Exclusive Preview. Man that was a heck of a trailer...Weird thing is that my favorite scenes, as awesome as the ones with the xenos in it were, were the ones that showed the ship taking them to the pyramid. Especially that shot of it in the water at night. The movie just looked so..big and grand with those few shots, and that's a great impression for a trailer to give. :)

Hm..starting to get some reports from other friends that people laughed at the trailer and said some pretty harsh things about it afterwards (in some cases, the audience just didn't react at all). So far it seems like most crowd reactions are positive, but some are pretty negative. Huh...

That's true, they might not have been talking since it's respectful not to talk during a movie in the first place. That's a good point. Personally, if something's cool I think it's alright to respond to a movie, I just don't like it when people are talking to each other during a movie.

Gotcha. I really liked the other stuff, but the ocean liner just seemed to ground the movie as something more than just alien and predator action (which is good, but to be a great movie it needs a good buildup, which is what this showed for me)

Because they want the movie to exclusively have the trailer for the weekend, just to draw more people to it. Expect it online Monday. BTW, I also loved that shot of the pyramid in the underground ice cavern. It was right out of the concept art, only cooler because it was just a dark shadow of the pyramid because of the darkness down there. A great shot.

There are few trailers that have actually made my jaw drop, this is definitely one of them. The last movie trailer that really had me ready to storm the multiplex was last year's X2 and the trailer for THE MATRIX in the Spring of '99.

Yea this trailer made me cry it was that good. Few trailers have done that to me. the LOTR: FOTR trailer the final T3 trailer and this. I mean everyone heard me talking about it, and were rolling their eyes at the AvP poster out front. Laughing at it. They saw the trailer, there was no laughing, just awe, and lots started to cheer. A emperor, look on the access holywood teaser. look at or should I say btween 1.01 1.02 its very fast and blury but if you look closely you can see the mandbles on the thing. This might not be a predalien but its alot like it. Try to pause the thing cuz frame by frame is too blury, thanx to the windows media " high" qualyty. And I`v already tryied to save it as a screen but wont work. dunno why?

Galmorzu, I don't know if you have seen the full trailer or not but let me explain. My theatre is filled with about 400 people for the movie, and not one of them cracked a laugh after the AvP trailer, lots started cheering, you could hear mumblings of people saying that looks good and so forth. As for the few people that do laugh. Think about it, in every movie of today there are always 5 or 6 jackasses in any movie, that talk and laugh through an entire movie, they think they are funny and cute, but they in reality are loosers. So that is just expected in any movie. As for the people bashing it online, hah, it's a long story but I remember I would fight with this guy that hated T3, X2 things like that on the forums, and he would make dumb excuses for hating the movie. One day I went to a friend of a friends house, and found out that one of the guys there was that guy on the forums, what a coinsidence, the funny thing is, I did not tell him who I was and asked him what he thought of the movie he said he hated, and he was like I have them all on DVD they were good. The fact of it is, lots of internet geeks like to look tough, and that they have such an artisitc eye for movies, so they only cheer for the really odd ones, like Kill Bill and so forth, because they think it makes them more sophisticated, but in reality they do love the movies they say they hate. I have seen it first hand. So for some to bash AvP cuz it's Anderson and not Cameron is expected, people just like to bitch, after seeing the trailer there was not ONE thing to complain about, the entire thing was awesome.

I was only saying that I had some friends who'se theater audience didn't take it very well and I just can't imagine why. True. I also loved the way it played out, never giving the impression that it was an Alien & Predator movie for the first minute of the trailer until you hear the infamous 'trilling' sound and see that first Pred hurl a spear at them. I swear, people were freaking out by the time that happened, it was great! By the end, forget it... I was convinced every person in that theater was going to book tickets in advance. ;D

Aliens sketches, where the original queen had a more insectoid waist. Well, you can see it when the queen is suspended by the chains, in the official traila, its a bit difficult to see but you can see it.

I wish I could see some of these Queen sketches again, because I know I've seen it at one point a while back. I think the original Alien Legacy DVD collection had a bunch, but I can't remember if the new Alien Quadrilogy DVD set had them as well. I know it had some ceomcept art, but not a lot.

Heh, Alien Legacy was the first thing I ever bought on DVD, so it's really pretty old by this point. It did have a lot of extras for the first two movies, though. Alien Quadrilogy is much, much better, though it doesn't have some of the things that Legacy had. The Quadrilogy came out in the US back in December, but I think it came out everywhere else at about the same time.

Well I checked those extras and saw a ton of pre-production concept art for the Queen, and besides a couple horrendous ideas for her, the rest were basically exactly what we got in the movie itself, so Anderson is either referring to those awful original queen ideas (which I doubt he was), or we haven't seen the images he's talking about.

Well the only way I could describe the new queen waist is, a 36-24-36 kinda girl and put some ant with scorpion kinda stuff in it. I know this is not really clear but its the best i can do for now

I think I just realized what the next featurette could be if they ever do another one. I don't know if they will or not, but the only thing left to talk about the making of would be the Visual Effects. This would be most of the CGI and technical effects, like pred cloaking, plasma casters, pyramid scene, and cg aliens. I'd be really interested in hearing from them about this. I hope they do it eventually. 8)

Yeah, this is getting annoying. I hope it's up today at some point. My worry is that maybe they put that Apple Exclusive Preview up the day before to tide us over because the normal trailer won't be up for a while. ??? I doubt it, it's probably just taking a while. We'll see tonight.

I was just curious, but who is going to consider the storyline from AvP to be canon for the alien and predator franchises? And don't feel hesitant to give an answer either way, I personally don't really mind if people do or don't. I ask because I'm watching Aliens right now and it's rather interesting to imagine that the company knew about the aliens before this movie.

Still no trailer online, I'm going crazy. Damn it. We should mail the avp site for the trailer. I mean, Riddick does not appear in theatres here in the Netherlands before August 12th 2004, so I'm not gonna see this trailer soon, except if they put it on the net. And you guys are talking about it, and it sounds so lovely, and I just can't see it :( The avp site doesn't list an email address (or I can't find it), so it sucks.

My thoughts exactly. A lot of people won't want to consider this movie official, but it would explain why the company was in such a big rush to collect this alien species which, we originally presumed, they knew nothing about. Heck, the space jockey could have been transporting miniature space hamsters for all WY knew, so why would they want those in the bioweapons division? :D They definitely knew beforehand what the aliens were like. Heck, even in Aliens, Burke was in a big rush to get the aliens back into the bioweapons division without really knowing that much about their capabilities, but if they had a record of the aliens life-cycle and lethal characteristics already, they'd know full well what they were capable of. So all-in-all, I would like to consider AvP part of the storyline. When I was watching the movie earlier, that line from Ripley in the beginning about if just one of those things reaches earth we're all screwed speech is chilling. Aliens have already been a major part of your own world's history and you don't even know it! I just love the idea, but of course I know others don't. :)

Yeah, I would have figured that the trailer would be online today, after leaving it with Riddick for the weekend. Quicktime's site only puts up new stuff 90% of the time on Thursdays and Fridays, but I'd hate to think we'll be waiting until then for this to be up. I wonder what they're waiting for? I keep getting this nagging feeling that they put up that Apple Exclusive Preview just to tide us over because the trailer won't be up for a while. :-\

Side-note: seems our good-guy pred is maskless by the end of the film. This just lends more possibility to my prediction that he may have been hugged (awww, pred hugs! Everyone join in!) at some point and could burst after Lex leaves, leaving a cute lil' predalien burster to bring on the credits. Of course, I'm prolly looking way too much into this.

Interesting point Galmorzu. The Predator's vision could probably show if someone is carrying an Alien embryo in him (so that the person was facehugged). I wonder if they will show this. Would be cool... :)

is it just me or am i the only one who is nervous at how far the technology will jump will it make the other movies weapons eg pulse riflle / smartguns etc look like stone age tools. i love the weaponary from aliens it is wot the military of today is experimenting with.

So what is the deal with the Pred's self destruct ? At the end of the Pyramid scene, it looks like the Self Destruct thingee takes out the entire Mayan civilization. Dutch was WAY inside that blast radius in the first Predator film, and that took place thousands of years AFTER the events portrayed in the Pyramid scene. Has Predator self destruct technology gotten LESS ADVANCED in a couple thousand years ??!?!??!?!?!

One the self-destruct is powerful, but you could avoid it, Dutch jumped behind a root of a tree and most likley burrowed himself close to the ground. Two it has to do with clans not technology, some of these predators, especially from the first one had the least technology/weapons, most likley he was a lower class in the social status, a poorer hunter. While these others may have something much greater. Just look at the difference of the Middle Eastern people's technology and ours.

Or with the Preds more like a more experienced hunter packing less gear and such to prove how bad-ass he is. Plus the pred self destruct in the trailer could be a 'things have gone horribly wrong' grade nuke as opposed to a 'keep the monkey's off my gear' nuke :)

They basing it on the general comic storyline that Aliens are now being bred so that Predators can use for hunting both for fun and as a Ritual into Adulthood. Unfortunatly humans get in the way and a bunch of stuff happens, but usually, Predator fight Alien, Predator injured by Aliens, Human save Predator, Predator follows code of honour help Human, Human and Predator fight Alien, Human survives, Predator kills itself to save Human...but theres always an egg left. fade to black - possible and most likely a squel will follow
