I believe that tomorrow may yield something better as far as comic-con material is concerned. I don't believe Fox would unleash all of their arsenal on one day.

What is the way of working of this VFX companies, are they contracting
their employees along the way, only if there is need for some special
designers or?

The more they have on their plate the more people they hire. The staff of these VFX houses ebb and swell depending on their workload. When a particular project is finished the VFX artists often scatter to other facilities where there is currently a demand for skilled labour. They usually do keep a core/skeleton staff of permanent senior personal at all times.
