kind of an obvious answer for a lot but...
i joined because no one listens to me when i talk to them about predator or alien. and i hate megaloathe a majority of people around me. im at home here.
I joined for the heck of it. I've been a fan of Aliens for some years, and fond of the Predator series as well.
I get on kicks of Aliens goodness every few years.
I'm not a geek in real life, nor look like it, so this place is fun to nerd out about Aliens and Predators. This is the best site for Aliens and Predators.
I was already a member at a few AVP sites, I was actually bugged to join this site, I didn't want to at first, mainly because at first glance it looks to big and confusing, but its a great forum.
as anybody else heard of AVPfreaks? that's were I 1st started with forums.
I joined so I could get a chance to molest all of your sweet asses.

I grew up watching Aliens, always loved the film, but only recently (last few years) realized it is such a masterpiece and is easily my favorite movie of all time. I like the Predator franchise as well. Just like to discuss these franchises from time to time... also kill down time at work ;)
Now that I am in my twenties, married, and not just trying to find girls... I get to enjoy other things that I have always been interested in. That's why I am here!

I was "Kiryu" back then.
I when I found this site resurface I wanted to go back to the old times again. I like this kind of atmosphere.

i was so happy.i needed some people who understood alien and predator films as i did
I join because i have been a fan of both series for a long time now and i also join because there was info about the trailer on this site.

I guess I joined because because I'd never joined a forum before, but I'm sure glad I did.
I joined for the obvious reasons, predator and aliens. But, also because none of my friends like either of the two franchises enough to actually sit down and discuss things that went on the movie in great detail like i do. I'll bring stuff up to this one friend and he basically mocks me for it all the time.
Anyway...another reason is because i've never joined a forum before. None of the ones i came across were very active and they rarely replied to each other. :P I think i found this one through google when i was looking up stuff on AVP-R on day. Glad i found it ;D
I joined because I am a fan of both the alien and predator series.
I joined because I wanted to express my ideas, and thoughts about these two franchises with the people here.
Me, I joined because I have been a fan of the PREDATOR, and the ALIEN franchise since I was a wee lad. Plus, I never joined a forum site before, and wanted to see how it worked, and all the people with the same interests as I.

I saw a pic of the boxart for AvP2 at school and I thought it was a movie. So I googled it and AvPGalaxy was right on the top of the list. I looked at it, loved it and joined.
Well...Darkness said to me "I've remade AvPGalaxy. Wanna take a look?" So...I did.
Ok I'll admit it. The only reason I joined in the first place was too see what downloads were availible. :P Kind of a selfish reason considering what a unique place this is.

I joined because I was bored as shit (joined back in December/winter when the parties were scarce as hell), I needed a good pass time until the party season came back around. It was only to be temporary but the noobs in the forum grew on me ;D.

I heard that AVP:R was 'Coming Soon' so I've spent hours looking info on it, I ran across this site a bunch of times so I decided to see what stuff was on the site, I wanted to get some downloads so I registered, I forgot about it. after AVPR I started looking for info again and I ran into this site again I didn't remembered my other account so I created a new one and started using it. :)
found it had cool concept art and tons of info.

I've started to migrate to other forums like a forum related to the vehicles I have etc. The one thing I dig about this forum is the broad range of topics. Lots of automotive forums etc you don't get that. Couple years ago I was on video game forums a lot, but I got banned because I had to put all the little newbs in their place. lol
haha! No kidding...I just recently joined a motorcycle forum. I introduced myself yesterday and already three pages have been filled up with random conversations. It looks like I found another home. 8)

I joined because i only had the original X-Box, and was having problems with Predator: Concrete Jungle. So I googled Predator: Concrete Jungle downloads hoping to find a demo. I found this site, but it wouldn't let me into the download section unless I was a member and had 5 posts. Only to realize after I made my post that the downloads weren't demos, so I decided to stay.
I joined to discuss the crappy darkness of AvP-R, but once I found out more about the Alien/Predator 'verse, I was hooked.
Long-time member of the AvP community from way back in the day (circa 1999), took a break for several years because debating AvP wasn't as much fun as it used to be.
Was looking for some tech support stuff for AvP1 on PC, registered to ask a question, figured I'd stick around for a bit before I take another break.

Curious: do you find it pointless in some way? I can't imagine discussion is extremely varied if the subject matter is all the same.
I had a brief surge of interest in the alien and predator franchises, but I had always liked the idea of both creatures.
I've always been a fan of both franchises... and a recent fanfic (which is likely to develop into an ongoing series) I wrote rekindled my interest in Aliens and Predator.

I still don't get along with a large percentage of A/P fans, but I need somewhere to postulate endlessly on Xenomorphic Cranial Variance, preemptively play Pin the Tail on the Fox Exec every time a new movie gets announced, and show off new additions to my ever-growing collection of related paraphernalia.

I don't remember if I ever actually posted back then, but I did read around. I was more interested in just seeing the new pictures and trailers of AVP, I was extremely hyped. Though when AVPG came back in 2006, I immediately joined.
I resisted actually becoming 'part' of the aliens community for forever, because I felt like there were certain levels of nerddom even I couldn't stoop to. And when I finally relented, I stuck with Alien Experience for forever, just because this site was intimidating. But w/e. I'm here now.

I'm an uber-huge Predator fan and a fan of the whole AVP universe (comics, movies) since it involves Predator. I am a fan of Alien (s) as well, but mostly a Pred fan. Anyway, I'm always seeking information, interaction with other fans and I like to keep up-to-date on the latest Pred or AVP-related happenings so I joined. I used to go to PlanetAVP for years, but it really stopped being updated and I find this is the most active and updated AVP site on the web. It's good stuff, and it's cool there's a resource like this for conversation, debate, info and updates.
Well, I started by creating crappy fan sites for AVP, then found Galaxy. Joine up, (it was the first forum I had ever joined...) then posted the crap outta myself the forst couple weeks.
Then I went and focussed on building a better fan site for AVP and with Darknesses generous assistence in some areas, I was able to craete AVP Spectrum.
I still come here almost every day....if wether's good. ;) But all in all, I like contributing and creating signatures for people and getting into debates on how ALien is better than Preadtor. ;)
I joined this site when i did b/c i was a member of the original site before it shut down after the release of AVP - i remember returning from the midnight showing + posting all about it + a bunch of people responding asking for more details but before i could give them... no more AVPGalaxy - when i found it again - whenever i did... awhile ago - i knew i had to join.
What were your reasons behind joining AvPGalaxy and becoming a member of this site? I joined because it was recommended to me after Planet AvP went down. I also remembered that I had visited this site before and I thought the graphics were cool. Also, there was a competition for the AVP3 lanyards and I had to be a member to participate in it, until that point I was simply a constant visitor to this site.
I'm sort of an old-schooler from Planet AvP. Although I was a very different person back then.

Back in 2004 I decided it was time to stop lurking.

Lurked the shit outta planet AVP and Alien Experience.
Came here when this place was squeaky clean and new.
I Googled 'AvP2' at school, after seeing the first AvP movie. Found a promotional image for the game AvP2, got home, did some more searching hoping for a second AvP, then I found this place, AvPRequiem was buzzing, so I joined up around a year before its release. During the year when AvPR was still in production, I watched the other Alien-Predator movies and realised how much better they were than the first AvP, which I watched before the originals. Been here ever since.

But, then coming over here, I hardly ever even check that section anymore.
Even a good game can start to lose it's appeal (no offline multiplayer helps[hurts!]), but these two species will always be cool.
Simply because I had a titanic desire to share my opinion on A/P worldwide. :)
Good way to meet lots of cool people here, and being part of a community is always very rewarding.
Plus Alien and Predator are two of my favorite film series of all time, so that alone was reason enough.
The voices told me to do so.
Similarly like some posters, I migrated here after it was apparent that Planet AvP died. So now I'm here and happy to see a thriving community.

I saw this site when looking up AVP:R but joined after hearing about the game.
Well, I started becoming really interested in the Alien series about a year ago. I'd always enjoyed it (especially the original), but I was never a huge fan. Suddenly, I started becoming very intrigued by it; I read the summaries on Wikipedia of the AvP games, gobbled up anything I could on Weyland-Yutani and the USCM, and eventually I found out about two little games called Aliens vs. Predator and Aliens: Colonial Marines. Naturally, my curiosity was piqued. I read all I could on Wikipedia, found myself dissatisfied with the level of info I'd found, so I Googled more info. I came across this site, and it had by far the best information of any I'd looked at. After a couple of weeks, I signed up. And the rest is history.

Yes I am. I've loved Alien since I was 7 or so, but fandom didn't come till much later.
I was somewhat the same. I became a fan of the movies at 4. Then it wasn't until I was 14 that I started getting into everything on the two franchises.

Info on AvP:R was led me to here, ironically, after the film came out.
Well I really joined out of lonlyness. It all started one day in 07, i just finished watching aliens for like 4000th time in my life, and i finished reading earth hive. And well I was home alone, checked to see if my friend could hang out, they couldn't. Which wasn't shocking, i've always had friend that were busy with work and stuff, not because they didn't want to hang out, i was always a big party animal. anyways though i felt alone and little sad, but i had aliens on the brain and i needed to talk to some people, so google searched alien forum and i found this place. Chill out for a bit, then i went inactive as my life picked up again.
Now though i'm stuck in the same boat again. I've always had a lonely life, and it bugs me, although at school i have friends upon friends but still, i tend to keep people arms length away except for a select few. Also where I live now is 15 miles out of town and I need to share my car with my dad so he can even get to work. Also my roomate Jason his always working too, so I'm normally home alone with my dog. Its not much of a life anymore, but I try to make the best of it. Everysince I was young, I've been alone, my grandma would take me away from my mom, when i slept with her as child and sat me on the dinning room table alone. Also whenever I truely needed people they tend to never be there,(Like ending up in the ER) except for my mom and now she's like 989 miles away so yeah. So I have never really had anyone be there for me, even in my worse of times, even in times where i was near death. I've grown up how to do things myself and take care of myself but frankly i can't stand the emptiness anymore, between this FORUM and my RPG site, you guys are the only real ones I socialize with, I'm literally stuck at home, not because I want to but because I have no other choice.
This trapped life has lead me to take up writing and reading, and web surfing. For there's really nothing else I can do here besides work out. Which I do as well. I tell you it really sucks to give your key to your dad to get to work because his car is wrecked. So yeah that's why I'm hear because I need to talk to sombody even if its on the net. Its better then talking to my dog or my sheep and other farm animals.

Game Gossip they had a avp section less activity than in the archives of avpr discussions. (Not funny I know).
Let's show a bit of respect. They're the original big AvP site. Eld and Sado did some great work back in the early 2000's on that place. AvPNews/GameGossip was the first AvP site I was dedicated to and first forum I joined.
But have in all seriousness they are dead mainly due to expansion and I doubt they mind there avp section is just a small part of what they do overall there forums are more active than these just not the avp section.
Most undoubtedly. Times have changed, Fox screwed them over and they haven't recovered. We're doing extremely well and we have been doing since our return. I'm proud of the work Darkness has done here, I'm proud of my contributions and of all the staff and forum members (nobheads and retards withstanding but they're reducing in population due to our 0 tolerance policy).
GG was my home on the web for a very long time. But the Alien discussion dried up to nothing, and the general discussion areas had some very loud conservatives whose views turned my stomach, so I eventuially gave it away.

Thats the main reason why i left, all the political shit slinging between the same group of people was just getting samey and tiresome.
C hicks*I'm not disrespecting the place considering i've been there for 7 years heck i remember lurking a full year before i joined, I know eld and sado outside of the forums and i'm well aware what they have done for the AVP community as a whole and have so many fond memories of the place.
I don't want to sound like a typical GG dropout but the place is long dead for various. CAD running the place and causing a lot of people to migrate and never return.The same discussions and alot of in-fighting, the same political/religious debates that caused alot of tension between forumers and Pezman's total lack of dedication to the site that he created plus made admins such as Sado pretty tee'ed off because he had no way of improving the site and no access to the netcode.Yeah the whole Fox being assholes was the first nail in the coffin for the site but it wasn't the last. :'(
I even went back there sometime last year, but my old login didn't work. And repeated attempts to get them to reset my password never amounted to anything, so I thought "Sod it".
Shame cos there was some good people there. A couple like Xhan and Kimarhi ended up here.

I can understand. I was involved in the revival of AvPNews. After Eld left that, I was left to try and run it on my own. Being as GG was their forum, I tried to get things moving on that. Also tried to try and get a new layout and keep things alive but it was just so hard working on it my own without too much technical knowledge. I'm more of a news/content kinda guy.

I joined here because I am a huge alien and predator fan. I also wanted info on the new AVP game.
I visited this site alot but joined just recently to talk on forums. Back when AVP-r was announced I used to visit Planet AVP. It's funny because right after that movie came out, there were no more postings or news or anything. I guess who ever ran that site was pretty let down by the movie and just quit. Anyways Predator and Aliens are my favorites and I also love the toys when I was younger. I still have all of them, I will never get rid of them. Now I like the statues that look ultra realistic. I am saving money to get some. But this site I got to say absolutely rocks. This is actually one of my favorite sites right now.
The forum is the best forum on the internet. I participate on blu ray.com's but man the people over there are just total as* holes. This forum here everybody respects each other, it's like were all good friends. The debates are great, no body acts like real immature or anything. The debates are good well spoken respectable debates.
The rules for the forum I like as well. The moderators are good too. I like them because thay reply on the forums and are fans them selfs. The gallery is great. All the information is really good, especially on the movies. I am not into games that much but there is so much information on everything I never get board with this site.
I joined here because there aren't that many Alien fans where I live, only AVP fans. It's a shame that a lot of my friends think that the AVP movies are better than the first three Alien movies. >:(

I joined because I've seen AVP more times then i could count and had always been an avp fan. Untill recently, I bought AVP 2010, it molded my fat head into the shape of a still fat head, but one that was obsessed with AVP I bought all the Predator and AVP movies, and watched them all a couple of times. I have to alternate turns with my bro on the PC and when it's his turn, I browsed the internet on my wii. I found this cool site and joined, yep you read correctly, I'm on my Wii right now typing this, I can also do it on my dsi. :D

I was sick and fu*king tired of The Flood Forum (Bungie.net's off-topic hell hole), so I gained a furthered interest in Alien, saw that there was an AvP game coming out for next-gen consoles on Inside Gaming, came here for scans, couldn't look at the scans, drew a gun called the Space Sweeper, tried looking for the scans on other sites, got pissed off, looked at the active member numbers, decided Galaxy was best, came here, thought of a username "DURP WAI DUNT AH USE THAHT GUN NAEM- IT HAD LIEK MULTI MEEANINZ N' STUV", signed up saw the scans, loved the scans, discussed in the forums, met SpaceMarines, talked with SpaceMarines, found the Favorite Hot Woman thread, aaaand YAH.
I joined by word of the internet. I haven't regretted joining either. I have met fantastic people and i won't quit anytime soon.

Hey, welcome to the Galaxy! Don't worry about only having seen Alien and Aliens. Those, along with Predator, are the only movies you need to see in this series. Keep your mind untainted as long as humanly possible; trust me, I envy you.

Definatley, and alien 3, nice amount of drama. It is kinda a love hate thing but might as well try it.
Try all of them while you're at it.
Resurrection and the AvP films aren't worth it. He might like Predators but it's really non-essential to the franchise as far as I'm concerned (the Super Predators can be treated as an optional add-on).
May agree with AvPR.
AvP is a fun ride.
Resurrection is more than "worth it".

They are polar opposites. And what they change in avp is from what I gather what she liked about alien.

IT KILLS THE STORY.
The original Alien film terrified me before I ever even saw it. In conquering my fear of Giger's beast I developed a healthy artistic obsession for the creature.
My Dad took me to see Aliens in the theater on a stormy summer afternoon and the power went out right during the scene when "they cut the power!"
Not long after that I remember kids at school talking about this new bad-ass movie called Predator ... and it wasn't long before it was out on video and I had a chance to watch it ... over and over and over again.
I saw a commercial for Predator 2 while on my first movie date seeing the huge chick flick Steele Magnolia's (starring Captain Dallas!) and my 2nd date I took her to see Predator 2. (Pay back!)
David Fincher's Alien 3 was responsible for inspiring me to make my own movies back in the early 90's. (including a full length 'Alien' film starring all of my high school friends.)
Neither of the AVP films rocked my world, but threw kinks into continuity. Requiem did make me appreciate Anderson's earlier efforts.
Nimrod's Predators was a good return to form in my opinion. The new Predator designs were the best since Predator 2.
Lately there is all sorts of awesome Alien and Predator figures. NECA and Hot Toys each have a hand in my pockets at all times.
New Alien film on the way with Ridley at the wheel.
How could I not join at this point?!
I joined because I grew up loving Predator,Predator 2 and the Alien films and nobody in my area shares that passion so I thought it would be a good idea to join a AVP site to interact with fellow Alien/Predator fans.
And I've also just got into NECA's "7 inch series of Predator figures (Picked up my first one today at a convention) and have fallen in love with the line and would like to share my opinion with fellow collectors!
Just some little facts about me my favorite characters from the Predator and Alien series are Private.Hudson and Jerry Lambart wich are both portrayed by Bill Paxton.
Well thats my reason for joining! I look forward to meeting fellow fans in the future!

Alien and Predator are two of my four top science fiction destinations (the other two being 2001 and The Terminator) so sharing a common interest in these two genius concepts really was appealing.
But over time it has become more about the people. In spite of ups and downs, some real friendships have been made that I do hope last.

Because I'm a huge AVP fan. This site, by far, is the biggest and most notable of any AVP community. I felt I had to join it.
Why did I join well....I'm huge Alien fan got a few Alien action figures and growing! ;) ps (Few preadtors aswell) got all the Alien moves plus all of the Alien omnibus series.
Now is the Avp Omnibus series.

i joined for the AVP game, i stayed for Predators, and i stayed more because i really like the place, and everyone here, and the pace of things. these are things i didn't like about Gateworld, especially after SGA was cancelled.

Best comic book I've ever read in my life. I knew from day one reading this thing it needed to be turned into a movie. I was such a hardcore fan of AVP that even my friends started buying AVP comics.
2004 finally came and I saw the first image of a Predator in a AVP film from a site called AVPgalaxy and decided to join at age 19.

Same with me. I first saw Alien when I was either two or one. I just walked in while my parents were watching it and they next day, I put it in and watched it. I've been a fan ever since.

Sometimes there's one or two vivid memories from when you're a kid. I can remember a few specific moments from when I was 1 or 2.

I am a big fan of the Predator character and in fact, I am currently building/making a costume in the hopes of finishing it before 2011 halloween. Started last year after 2010 halloween and although it is a tedious, trying project, I am enjoying every minute of it whenever I get a spare time to work on.
I am also a collector of Predator action figures (also Spawn figures). I do not collect anything other than the ones I mentioned. I currently got my eyes on some Hot Toys figures. I recently just bought 2 x 1/4 scale figures of the Predators (masked and open-mouth versions) made by NECA. Absolutely excellent figures.
I joined to become part of the community of fans of the character I first saw in the movie way back in 1987. Even at that time, I thought it was a very original creature concept and I am glad that there are more movies being shown about the Predators.

I joined to take part in the discussions of the alien, predator films.. mostly to discuss about the alien films and etc. ;) I am really excited to see Prometheus and hear more about it here on AvP Galaxy!
I joined because I wanted to talk about ACM with some decent people who actually know something about the Alien universe. And I am big Alien universe fan since I was a kid so the opportunity to talk with other fans is just great. Actually I knew about AVPG since 2007 but my english was not very good. And I don't like when I can't understand the people talking to me and the opposite. So I registered a bit later. To be honest AvPG is maybe my fav forum now. I really like the users. They are very friendly and have great knowledge of the alien universe :)

I've been a alien and predator fan (especially alien) ever since i was a kid somewhere around 9 I think. I still remember the first time I watched Alien all by myself... I was scared shitless, I couldn't get the image of the xenomorph out of my head and I also had plenty of nightmares after that, nevertheless a feeling of fascination was growing inside of me and that feeling was more dominant then the sheer horror I was experiencing at that point.
In time my fascination evolved into passion. Currently I'm studying animation and illustration and I'm pretty sure that if it wasn't for H.R. Giger and Ridley Scott I would be a different person!
To answer the question in a few words, I joined cause it felt natural. I am among thousands of people all around the world who share their thoughts, opinions, love and sometimes hate for the franchise but mainly our common interest brought me here.

Honestly, I joined because I don't have much to do. Watching films is one of my hobbies and I like discussing them. I'm at home 99% of the time due to a rare genetic cancer gene defect I have (Von Hippel Lindau) so I try to find things to occupy my time. Sci Fi films take my mind to a better place than what reality has to offer me. That's why I'm here.
Also, my gf's eyes tend to glaze over at the mention of Alien or Predator...figured here my views might at least be heard..or read, lol.

My mum had taped Alien 3 for me when I was 4. Then I saw predator 2 when I was approx 5. After that when i as around 7/8 I rented out the first three alien films fom my local video store and watched them all.
I saw predator 1 on t.v a few years later. During all this buying the figures etc.
I'm a mazzive finatic of both fanchises cant live without them.
I just needed to home in my love of these films.
Because I liked predators and wanted to discuss them with others. Now I could really care less about that series (I'm much more of an alien fan) but whatever.

Predator was an awesome movie I wish it got the respect it deserves, no one knows about it now in days unless some stupid comedy tries to spoof it, or teenagers makeing fun of Arnold's line "run! go get to the chopper!".
Predator is a household name.
Predator should be reveared as a classic "in my opinion". I really wish the younger generation showed some respect to things like Predator and Alien, these two movies are better than the garbage teens call intertainement today.
Give it time. They all grow up eventually.

A good idea is to not talk during movies (Unless it is necessary) because it breaks focus and generally annoys people. Well at least you can discuss all things alien and predator here :)

The habit of finishing the rest of the movies continues even now, and this forum seems like an ideal community to hang out with. Plus, I was looking for a place to find other PS3 players for such games like AvP (2010) and A:CM, so you can pretty much tell.

Don't feel bad. My intro was AvP so I didn't fare much better but then again, at that time I knew nothing about the series at large so AvP seemed like it was awesome.

I'm not going to defend Alien Resurrection, nobody in their right mind would, but Alien 3 left it with nowhere to go. An Alien film without Ripley possibly could have worked if it focused on the other survivors of Aliens, but obviously that couldn't happen because some idiot decided to kill them all off at the very beginning of Alien 3. By then having Ripley sacrifice herself at the end, the makers of Resurrection had three options as I see it:
1. Make the film with a cast of characters that had no links to the previous films.

3. Bring back Ripley as a clone.
Unfortunately, all these options suck. To be fair, they went with the least sucky option but it was still never going to work. However Alien 3 was clearly created with the intention of ending the series when, in reality, such a big franchise was never going to be allowed to end with just three films. Ah, yes. I remember right as I saw Hicks and Newt dead, I told myself "I hate this movie". But now I see it in a different light. Yes, Newt and Hicks died aboard the ship, but they're just human, not some kind of supernatural forces of invincibility.
I saw the movie
Pacific Rim the other day, and right as the main character appeared to be dead at the end and it's all doom-and-gloom, he wakes up and kisses the main female character. It was so predictable to me.
But Alien 3 showed no mercy; it was real life (even though occasional shots of the alien puppet running made me think otherwise).
I think Alien 3 should have been the end. Alien: Resurrection and both of the AVP movies were just terrible. Alien: Resurrection was like "Oh! This can't end!" but in the process, made us realize it should have just been left alone and valued for what it was. The AVPs were just typical fight/action movies with a terrible plot, teenagers, and way too much CGI. Plus, the Predator got turned into an anti-hero, so it was kind of like
Aliens VS. Predator (Along with a Few Humans the Predator Decides to Let Live for Some Reason) . I thought the Predator and the black chick were gonna make out at the end of AVP for f**k's sake! Not to mention, the alien design in the AVP movies are just terrible. Poor Giger - having his beautiful idea sold and turned into
that pile of shit.
I remember watching AVP in the theater: The part when the Predator makes the weapon and shield for the human someone stood up and screamed "Oh, F^CK NO!". Took the words outta my mouth, mysterious movie goer!
I love the game and movie, I want to make a group of people who play AVP on Xbox 360.

When I first joined this site I was looking for multiplayer servers because I played AvP 2 and It was so awesome for me that I wanted to go play online...unfortunately , all the Sierra servers were dead so I came here hoping there are still people who are playing the game . :P

I have visited this site on and off as a guest for a few years, it was good to see what was new and upcoming from the avp franchise, I have entertained the thought of joining before but never had time, then one day while on xenopedia, a member here visited and recommended I join and that even I didn't have time, I could still lurk lol well I have a bit more time these days and so I joined plus another reason is because I would like to discuss the franchise with fellow fans.

In terms of people knowing the alien universe form its creation to now there Is probably no better forum than this one. It is great to hear people talk about stuff that was floating around years ago like articles and interviews that lead to discussions that newbies like me aren't even aware of.

Very deep knowledge about the alien franchise is available here and its great to hear it recounted.
I believe most people here share a passion for at least alien as it was the starting point of all things avp.
Hence no better place to learn how understand and interpret the alien films.
I am not good with maths. but I tried my hand at ENGINEERING maths. I was hopelessly out of my depth and then realized that it was not for me. but because I did that I now know that it is not for me but also the extent to which I am lacking.
Same here: I joined so that I could test the boundaries of exactly how deep this knowledge goes. and now I also understand how woefully lacking I am in my knowledge. Knowledge that other members have gathered over many years by buying books and articles (thanks Xeno Alpha 07). i can understand therefore that no one is going to give me that knowledge on a silver platter. which is fair.
Because of joining I have also come to the understanding that knowledge about writing the movie industry directing script writing etc are also disciplines that needs to be understood as well - in which I am seriously lacking. but I needed to see this for myself.
Joining was the only way I can get to see that for myself.

What's Town's Exterior? I know that the Alien Anthology and Alien Quadrilogy sets have most of the deleted scenes, there's also a laserdisc DVD that has some that weren't included in those sets.

The tow exterior shot is shown in the Alien Legacy documentary. The documentary is an extra on the Alien Legacy DVD boxset and the Anthology blu ray set.
Hi, I joined because of Alien Covenant coming out next year, I loved Prometheus (saw it twice in theaters and own it)! :)
My favorite Alien film is Alien, and my favorite Predator film is Predator! I love those films so much!

I finally joined because I've been a long time visitor to the site & have a huge deep love for all things Aliens & Predator
and figured it was time to finally start conversing with people of the same minds & there is no better place for that
then here! I've been coming here for news & the podcast for a few years but kinda shy sometimes when it comes to
talking so it takes me a little to warm up to it. Honestly the podcast made the decision to join the forum easier having listened
to a few of the guys here for a while made me feel like I got to know them a little bit if that makes any sense.

AVPG seems like the only boat left, but honestly I barely go outside anymore. :P
The A/P and AVP franchises still have a big fanbase, don't get me wrong, but this site seems like the only reliable source of info left on the internet, apart from other, non-dedicated news pages.
As much as I love what the staff and community do here (and really do love my hobby!) I do miss the days of being a bigger community. I am insanely proud of what we have built over the last decade and proud of the amazing job we do in providing reliable information as quickly as possible. Hell, we're the place other bigger news websites actually come for news on the series.
I joined coz alien isolation forums went down and didn't know where else to go to talk about aliens :(

I joined because I saw the first Predator movie in the theater the first night it came out, it's been my favorite movie ever since and I never get tired of it, I even like Predator 2, but not even close to the first. Plus I'm excited and want to keep up on The Predator cast and plot news

joined because I have been big into the Alien series since I was a kid, the biggest mystery for me was the Space Jockey Ship on LV 426, always wondered if the Alien that birthed out of the space jockey was still alive somewhere on that ship, was hoping more of the space jockey ship would've been explored
I've been lurking since the year leading up to Andersons AVP , been an Alien and predator fan since I was 9 or 10 , I'm 36 now ;D, so I've been reading this awesome site for a while, with two new movies on the way it's an exciting time to be a fan again and I wanted to contribute instead of just read this time :)

Cool. My dad took me to see Predator when it came out, I was 10. After all, he did let me see Alien and Aliens before Predator came out and knew I was ready. 8)
I was 9 when it came out and my mom was an avid scary/si-fi movie junkie, just can't wait for the lastest news to finally give us a better idea on a the Predator

I joined 10 years ago because Corporal Hicks kept sending me emails incessantly to add an AVPG graphic link on my website. I finally checked it out and decided I liked it, so I finally added his graphic link to my site.
To learn from others, to engage in productive conversation, and to stay up to date on my two favorite film franchises.

Ribbing Hicks aside, 10 years ago, I was researching Alien/Predator sources and avpg surfaced in my findings, so I registered upon first sight.
Because I enjoy using forums more than social media and I like the Alien/Predators films and games.
I joined because I want to be part of this community. It was a bit lonely to be here as a guest. I just read posts every day, but did not interact with anyone. I love AVP. This site is a place that brings together fans from around the world. Now I am also part of this community. I am with you on board ~

I really liked The Predator ( and still do ) and amount of hate ( yeah, I'm using that word ) it got made me really angry . But it had also a good side - I started to look through different forum's topics and eventually decided to join myself .
Fan of the movies for years and wanted a place to distract me from other things and meet like minded people. .

Well, I like the movies a lot and I thought that my parents were tired of hearing fascinating facts about Alien Resurrection.
