Rapace says her character is 'very much her own,' despite sharing similarities to Sigourney Weaver's Ripley.

Quote"I have many ideas and he has many ideas, and now we try to find her," the actress told us. "I will step into her shoes in March and be here for six months, so it's quite a long shoot."
Guess that would account for the Highlands shoot timeframe.
And, like Fassbender, and Giger, she confirmed that it's Alien related. Something Ridley isn't commenting on entirely.
Happy face.
I'd been rooting for her casting since it was first rumored and now every interview since the news was made official just makes me happier about her involvement.
Yay! Another Alien connection!
Hopefully she'll be able to fill Caroline John's shoes in the role....
Damn Noomi, you make sweden proud! ;D
"She is a believer..." what could that mean I wonder. The context sort of confused me on that.

Sort of like Roger from American Dad is the decider.

As in, she is very believable as the spiritual successor to Ripley.

i figured it mean that she believes in what she's doing, and when she believes something she REALLY believes in it, not just passively but actively,
Sounds great! Separating her from Ripley is a good move, and the character sounds interesting.
Even if it doesn't meet expectations for a companion piece to the first film, it sounds like it will be one of Ridley's best films in a while. Glad it's a long shoot.
great! so now they have started shooting for this already in Toronto should we be expecting a teaser in a couple of months then? yes ? no ? maybe?....
Like I said before, they arn't gonna release a teaser for a film a year before it. I imagine we'll get something around Christmas. Please don't expect anything before then, because they'll be in the thick of making it.

Why not? Godzilla US teaser trailer was released a full year before the film. The latest star trek film did the same. its not uncommen for this to happen
The Star Trek teaser went online in anticipation of a Christmas release that year, but was pushed back to the following May. Don't get me wrong, I'd love to see a teaser asap, but realistically I know the chances are it'll be later rather than sooner! Avatar didn't get any trailers until only a few months before release.

well by the looks of it different films gewt teasers at different times so no one can say when the teaser comes out for Prometheus it could be sooner or later
"Alien related" in no way shape or form = Aliens on screen.

lol, there was an article on Cracked called "the top 10 sci fi movies never made" and that was on the list :D
It could just be a way to get attract more people. :-\
It was the first idea, immediately scrapped out.

There never was any serious idea to scrap. No Alien3 script featured Aliens getting to Earth.
They were thinking "Wait this would actually be pretty expensive, not to mention maybe even a little lame."
"So how about mutant sheep-Aliens with human faces on their asses?"
"f**kin'. Gold."

That's right. Makes the trailer even weirder

You know, I might not dislike
Alien Cubed (and yes I finally saw the Theatrical Version -- can't judge the Assembly Cut) as much if that had made it to the final film. ;D
