Ha! Practical full body alien, on set, thank you very much. 8:28 - 8:31, for example.

No practical aliens indeed ....  ;D

Well, that's the sad part. They'be been completely painted over with CGI.  :-\

Hopefully not as severe as that. I liked that prequel, but compared to what it could have been with the original ending and practical effects that ADI showed off after the fact, it was a real disappointment. Its original incarnation likely could've stood up to the original. Still hoping for a Directors Cut someday.

Yeah, I desperately want a director's cut of that film. I still like it too, just want to see the original FX by ADI. The studio wanted to change them because the practical effects made the film feel to 80's. Yeah, of course it does because you're story is set in 1982.

I'm sure A:C wasn't as severe, but still if you're going to hire a practical effects team then at least use their work. Or don't bother to hire one. It saves money in the budget.

I have stayed away from reviews, have read some 4chan spoilers, and watched this. I can't f**king wait!! Bring it on!

XENOMORPHOSIS

Alien Covenant, though in some regards formulaic it did the job, my eyes were popping, heart pounding and chest bursting. A welcome return for Alien. Will the be well remembered, or fall into obscurity as just another average Alien film for the majority of the fan base. Only time will tell.

Thanks for catching this, RidgeTop. I'm really looking forward to getting into the movie archeology side of Covenant. I love learning more about the behind-the-scenes. So many good bts shots in this. Gonna get some caps up soon.

I've updated the front-page article with a tonne of screencaps. http://www.avpgalaxy.net/2017/05/11/watch-alien-covenant-hbo-first-look/

Corporal Hicks

I'm intrigued by the script excerpts. Specifically calls out Giger styles.
