It's really short, but it interestingly enough showcases the David android.

Thanks man! Glad to help!
This is great. Synthetics have definitely a major part in the film.
Shit man, that looked like Ash at first.

Looks like the commercial for David 7 :P
I have to say I am really enjoying this viral marketing campaign they're pushing. Between the Peter Weyland video and now the David video – it's getting me even more excited for this goddamn movie.
Awesome.
It felt like opening a Hoy Toys figure for the first time.
Dat new paint smell. :D
I like that you can see the white "blood" being pumped in to David (or at least that appears to be implied)
I'm officially blown the fu€k away by everything surrounding Prometheus.
Amazing:

During the pic's WonderCon panel earlier today, fans were given cards from Weyland Corp that directed them to a website and a phone number. If you call the number, an operator informs you that all Weyland Corp lines are busy, but calls your attention to a text message you've just received. The text message gives you a link that directs you to a truly spectacular video narrated by one of the film's stars.

f**kin' A! Now that's how you market your movie!
Anyone else noticed a little detail? Ridley does follow the old alphabetical android naming tradition from the series:
Ash
Bishop
Call
David
;D
That video was awesome! Really loving the viral marketing so far!
And I hope the viral video from WonderCon makes it online! :)
This stuff all better be on the Blu Ray :D

EDIT: Ohhh, that post was talking about the video I just watched...I thought it was about something different. Nevermind :-\
Though I really can't wait to see what other videos they have in store for us.
And that's strange, wasn't the line "big things have small beginnings" "leaked" from a reported trailer, instead of a viral video? It wouldn't make sense to have that line in the film, unless David likes to promote his own line of androids. Which I suppose, is possible, since Burke said "building better worlds" in ALIENS.

Its plausible that there are screens in the Prometheus (or in/on other tech) that run Weyland commercials.

Haha holy crap i never payed much attention to that :) scotts being all sneaky. that or it was just pure coincidence. either way, nice eye :)
I'd hardy call this vid "Truly spectacular", but i do love the touch of the white fluid that starts to flow down the IV, just like the Ash and Bishop droids.
This is the first time we've heard Fassbender as David. He's playing the part with the same accent he used for his role in 'Inglourious Basterds'.
Excellent, just excellent!
I love the backstory they are giving the movie and the universe surrounding it. I hope these things will be available as extras on the Blu-Ray this coming fall/winter.
Great as a viral ad, but if that were a real advertisement for a real product, it would be terrible.
Disturb and terrify the shit out of our customers!

I don't think Ridley had anything to do with the naming of the androids. It's more than likely the writers, considering each
Alien film has had a different director.

Maybe according to the present demographic, but 60 years from now people would have probably been exposed to so many androids that that commercial would be amazing to them.
I think there will forever be something disturbing about a man shrink-wrapped in plastic suddenly moving with a quick jerk.

Well, it seems that reports from the live panels say that David "ominously says" "Big things have small beginnings" in the trailer. That confirms it.

Nice timing with that David 8 commercial.
And the implications of a robot connecting a larger real life scenario to some pre-programmed advertising catch phrase that resides somewhere in his earliest programing ... is master stroke.

Usually I'm not an absolute fan of Viral Promo but the campaign for Prometheus is great.
I love how he jerks shortly after the blood flows. It's recalls a newborn having to breathe after the the cord is cut.

I've gotta agree with this. It seems it would bring words such as "stunning", "haunting", and possibly even "beautiful" to mind as opposed to terror. Especially after previous models, this one displays the pinnacle of innovation for them. As soon as I saw the video was meant to be a commercial, I tried to get myself into the mindset of somebody that far in the future, and when that happened it stuck with me in a very odd way... like an mesh between organic life and something created on an assembly line.
Bottom line, I found this fascinating.

I found it Fassbender.
Feels kind of morbid to me. Packing a nearly living this in a bag with Styrofoam blocks lol.
I get a very "Aperture Science" vibe from it.
Just imagining the end of the unpacking process.
"Hello, I am David. Could you please remove the Styrofoam blocks from my face?"
"Thanks a bunch, pal."
How much ya think a David model android would cost? I'd pay top dollar. ;D
If I was WI I'd fire their advertising arm.
They want people to buy them - not get creeped the f**k out!!

What do you mean my this (highlighted) exactly? David was the first model, Ash, Bishop and Call all came after...or do you mean earlier models of David, as stated in the Weyland timeline, which is fair enough??

Apologies.
I heard some time ago on here that someone from production said that the idea was that he doesn't have any,
and that that is the reasen for his "magazine-rape" on Ripley.
David is definitely not all what he seems to be :o

Androids make for bad lovers.
I'd say the androids have genitalia. At least the later models in keeping with the phrase "virtually indistinguishable" from humans.
And it's a safe bet the Ash unit came complete with 'a unit' considering his 'mission.' Considering the close quarters contact the crew had coming out of hyperspace and their general living conditions it would seem like a stupid move on the company to send in a secret imposter android who is also a eunuch. Worse than a eunuch ... a Ken Doll. One slip of the space boxers and it's "Game Over" for the ruse.
I can't believe I'm discussing this.
But I think he probably has a "junk" that is simply incapable of erection, impotent.
That's what the "substitute" rape was for.
Seriously, I am not making this up, I've heard this somewhere on here before.

Alien Commentary. Ridley himself hypothesized about it. But it sounded like he was guessing himself.
