IMAX has started to sort of cut back on exclusively 3D Imax releases, so they're offering both 3D and 2D experiences, or in the cases of films like Blade Runner 2049, just 2D Imax (despite also getting a regular 3D release). So I'm sure Predator will still have some 2D Imax showings.

"... the body count is alarming"

Prop guy must've stepped on an ant hill.  ;) But seriously, it's good to hear that some footage maybe coming soon. Really looking forward to the teaser trailer.

I read everywhere that reshoots are a basic thing that happen a lot, they have plan for them in their calendar, standart process, etc. But, I wonder if this is really true. They could have planned reshoots. . yes, but the content of the new material could be on the end influenced by everything (test screening, comments) so. . I'm just thinking if they are not using their last time for something. I dont want to be negative, but it could sound like some desperation, like a last chance for fix, I hope that this is not this case. I'm very excited about the teaser/trailer. But I think that any recent reshoots dont be in it yet. Also I hear a rumor that they are filming mostly in night, in between forests. .  ;)

Pointless, if a movie is not shot in 3D it looks like crap and like an afterthought, which is what it actually is. Besides 3d is not popular anymore, they should stop this BS and release the trailer already.

It is not true, just some examples of movies made worse by studio meddling reshoots right off the top of my head: Rogue One, Suicide Squad, Justice League, and there are lots more. Test screenings are dumb because the suit people is trying to make a product instead of letting a director make a work of art, and test audiences are dumb because i doubt those people have any idea of filmmaking at all and they just spew BS and cannot be trusted. All of it, reshoots, test audiences and test screenings are pointless, specially because they should start by making a good script, that is literally all they have to do to not  ruin a movie.

I am getting irritated about all this non-news about the movie we are getting honestly, i find hard to believe that they would announce a movie and then go into deep silence and secrecy for everything about it, what do they expect, to have a sudden burst of interest from audiences once they release a trailer? They wont getting that from me i assure you, because everythign about it sounds bad and that they are trying to hide the movie just tell me that they made some poop.

Also, hurray for me to finally get 3 starts after so many years.

The reshoots in Rogue One added the Darth Vader fight scene which was the highlight of the film. None of the movies you listed were ruined by reshoots because none of them were particularly good at any point in the process. Avengers, Blade Runner, World War Z, Max Max Fury Road, Force Awakens - all recent products of reshoots. Deadpool 2 just had reshoots and now outscored the original film in test screenings.

QuoteTest screenings are dumb because the suit people is trying to make a product instead of letting a director make a work of art,
A work of art is a product. Taking consideration of the consumer means they care about how audiences react to their film.

Quoteand test audiences are dumb because i doubt those people have any idea of filmmaking at all and they just spew BS and cannot be trusted.

That's like saying word of mouth is dumb because your best friend, cousin, coworker, and barber don't have any idea of filmmaking at all and cannot be trusted. If enough people provide the same feedback, the studio is likely going to take it into account.

I always find with 3D that my eyes just adjust after about 10 minutes and it's basically just 2D again.

There is a lot of 3d potential in Predator. Specifically the laser and the camo effects.

It would be pretty interesting to have a point of view shot into the 3D trees while a cloaked predator was hiding, just so audiences could try to make out where he's at.

That would be awesome. I'm hoping they realize the potential here.

I could see that being pretty cool especially if the predator reveals himself by the end of the shot or shoots his laser. Like a first person view of the last thing Mac ever saw  :D

absolutely ditto!!!

Yeah 3D can be awesome if used right , gravity is my highlight 3D film , I thought it demonstrated how cool the illusion can be , if used right . The original predator is now in 3D and I thought it was pretty cool with my goggles ,  although the potential for a true 3D predator film is massive . I couldn't agree more .

BigDaddyJohn

Yeah Fury Road was great too
