Yeah, let's cut the True fan crap. Let's just face it. There are no true fans. They're just fans

AlienatedPredator

I definitely haven't seen all the Star Wars stuff, and have not seen a couple MCU projects like Eternals due to bad reviews. The difference is, those franchises don't need OUR support, the nerds will take care of that.

This franchise doesn't need one's support if one thinks the films might be bad, either.

We hit some real low points in terms of ticket sales, then they picked up massively with Prometheus. Covenant was disappointing financial, but we're getting Romulus.

One doesn't need to financially support projects they think they won't like out of some notion of keeping the franchise alive. The franchise will persist. One can let movies they think they won't like fail - or at least, not support them.

Man, regardless of how this film turns out its gonna be an absolute treat for facehugger lovers like me.

What do I mean by that?
Wouldn't you like to know.

Quote from: irn on Jun 23, 2024, 07:54:18 PMI kind of get it. Like the franchise needs to be pulled back onto the rails. Then once it is re-established as a quality series again it can then start looking to explore bolder new directions.

I will sit out on this one.

Covenant was 7 years ago and looks no different to this current offering.Maybe I am not the current demographic market share.

Who cares?

I have two movies I would watch this year (zero so far). They sure ain't a remake of ALIEN or King Kong Minus Godzilla.

Lmao you're really going to sit out a new alien movie being released in theaters and you're and old school die hard fan...yeah okay bud.

Seriously I don't care if people hate on this film but how are you even a fan if you don't go see a new entry to the franchise. I'm ride or die as many of you are, I'll see another The Predator or AVPR and complain about it for twenty years before I choose to skip out. Like come on.

THE PREDATOR, no comment, we already had multiple movies decades prior to it but again I'm not the core target audience.  ::)

AVP-R on blu-ray torrent was sweet and somewhat fixed the lighting contrast issue of the DVD. People hate on me for the nastiness. But I'm a subscriber to hydraulx despite zoomers 12a safe space mindset on  the themes. I'm old, I like old skool anime, sue me.

I have two films I will watch this year that rhyme with Pullverine and Denim.

Quote from: solace97 on Jun 24, 2024, 03:37:55 AMAnd I can't see how skipping on any film makes you a real fan
Because it's not for you or anyone else to determine what the cutoff point for fandom is.
I checked out of Acolyte after 1 episode. The stiffness of everything and fan film feeling during a lot of it means I'll likely never return. Loki Season 1 was okay but very tedious. I won't watch season 2. I'm still a marvel fan. I'm still a Star Wars fan. Alien hasn't had a series yet. If season 1 is hot garbage, I likely won't watch a season 2. I'll still be an Alien fan.

I don't have to give these projects money or hours of my life if I don't want to. I'm not obligated in any sort of fashion.

Romulus is a watch for me though because I see enough to at least give it a chance in theaters. It doesn't mean I don't have reservations.

Quote from: BigDaddyJohn on Jun 25, 2024, 12:10:33 PMI myself have numerous reservations regarding this movie, and anyone having some is a normal thing. What I don't get is when some say they hope the movie fails, or assume the final quality of a whole scene based on a frame or two.
I'm really full excited for this film, I think that Fede will deliver us the Alien film that we all need and want

I just need and want a thrilling adventure with interesting characters, impactful deaths, great visuals and directing, and a tense atmosphere. I think it could deliver just that. Regarding the story, I'm more reserved.

From a french youtube channel that had access to the panel with Alvarez answering questions and footage of the film being showed
Spoiler
they confirm the film will feature a "cocooning" scene. The movie will feature the alien going from chestburster, to cocoon, to adult for the first time, which is probably what we saw at 1:45 in the trailer. The scene at 1:36 with the guy seeming to poke at something with a stick, it's directed at the said cocoon, probably trying to destroy it before the full grown alien comes out.

Awesome! Sounds like some visually astounding body horror right there

The scene at 1:36 is possibly
Spoiler
where the adult alien gets his scar.

Well, according to Building Better Worlds, tarantula is quite the colonial delicacy.

You know, I find It interesting that people who are regular viewers of this type of shit, Don't really get the hint that The people who are making these videos don't really believe Most of the things that they are saying. They just saying these political theme and using the viewers as profit rather than actually wanted to make a difference.
