Any of y'all get out to shoot lately? I just hit the range for the first time this year (technically I was working but it was dead so I got to shoot), finally got around to shooting my STI 1911 G.I. no stoppages but my hand was bleeding from hammer bite. Wednesday I'm breaking out my "new" K98, gonna try and ring her in at 200 meters

Also recent acquisitions I guess

1. Yes I did put a heat shield on my 870, fight me.
2. Always clean all the cosmoline off your rifle, or else you end up like me dry firing it and getting a splash of soviet storage juice right in the eye

Huggs

The woods are overgrown and the ticks are horrendous right now. Probably won't be able to go shooting until the fall.

Master Chief

My ranges just opened up so I'll be out there soon.

The textron will never happen in a million years

Are we getting closer to the M-41A pulse rifle?

PVTDukeMorrison

Still a long ways off, while we've developed caseless ammunition its still in its infancy. The biggest problem is that they're always way too over complicated,  in the field you want as few moving parts as possible so that Pte Dumbass and Cpl Shitforbrains can disassemble their rifle in the field with very few chances of loosing parts. Makes it kind of hard when your rifle assembles like a swiss watch

If only we had more forests in the infantry  :'(

Also went shooting for Canada day, my 1911 magazine decided it just didn't want to live anymore and exploded. Thankfully handgun is fine

Corporal Hicks

Is your hand fine?

PVTDukeMorrison

Hand is A-OK, it looks like the plate on the bottom of the magazine shot off, breaking the lips that hold it in place, launching the spring and 6 rounds of .45 into the dirt

Are you saying that... what are you saying?  ???

That they'll just add more weight to a soldier's kit even if they make the weapon lighter?

And that is why one should never use a cup and saucer grip with a pistol.

The dreaded teacup grip.
