Apart from the fact that the aliens were declared cannon fodder, Cameron's contribution to the alien universe has become indispensable and is quoted significantly more than the original.

I myself don't have much idea about the techniques used in film or the transversal of old films on Bluray etc., but I was surprised that Cameron's film, when seen from the picture, was very grainy and far behind in comparison to the other parts.

Yeah because it is made on faster film stock, the material itself it is filmed on looks grainy, you do not get to change that without turning the film into a waxy mess with artificial sharpening. (Exactly what they did for that awful 4K.)

Yes, I noticed that the base material was the problem.
too bad. Especially when you do an alien film marathon it is abundantly clear.
but I have to live with it.
I didn't buy the 4k versions because I stuck with DVD and Bluray. I'll keep it that way as long as I can.

yes, but it's even more annoying that it unfortunately didn't work with Aliens.
Well, I can't really say anything about it because I don't use 4K, but obviously many people are disappointed with Aliens in this regard.

It didn't work because they used AI noise reduction and upscaling, so it's not actually a 4K transfer of the film itself
