Hmm

Then it could be in one of the AvP docs about getting the film together, but I swear he said it was an AvPR doc.

To make sure, I'll be going over the discs again tonight. I'm sure I couldn't find it in any of the AvP Requiem special features.

It has to be in the unrated definitive edition of the first AvP film then (which I don't own yet)?

Thanks anyway.

Quote from: SiL on Sep 14, 2024, 10:09:23 AM2-disc AvP DVD is great for special features then.

I just ordered this DVD for the bonus features - I'm looking for an outtake of the Alien, in the corridor, that was used in a featurette or documentary. Would you know if it's in this unrated definitive 2-disc set of AvP?

The outtake is from the original Alien. It was uploaded here about a decade ago by xeno alpha 07. I'm hoping it's in this DVD release.
If the outtake is from AVP (1st one), it's either going to be on the 2-disc DVD, or it's going to be one of those things floating around on YouTube.

I already have it (from a poster, here) but the footage is slowed down, and the quality isn't the best. I did have it at normal speed, but accidentally deleted the file.

As it's an outtake (from my favourite film) that I don't own (in the best quality). I've already ordered a copy of AvP off eBay.

If it isn't on the Definitive Edition 2-disc DVD set for AvP (the first film), then I don't know where else it could be?

I did go back to the Definitive Edition DVD and the Blu-ray, for the sequel, AvP Requiem ... and ... nope, it's not on there.

So it has to be in the bonus material for AvP - or - if not, as you've said, perhaps floating around on the 'net from another source.

At the very least, I can confirm that if you're a fan of the AVP films...
AVP: Get the Blu-ray for HD, but get the 2-disc DVD for Special Features.
AVp-R: Absolutely loaded with Special Features. This was actually my first Blu-ray!

I have the 2-disc Definitive Edition DVD of AvP Requiem and the Blu-ray (the same special features - but with a new interactive one that features video segments).

Soon, I'll also have the 2-disc (unrated) Definitive Edition DVD of the first AvP.

I'm not even a fan of these AvP films. I just want all ALIEN (1979) outtakes or BTS material that wasn't included in the Legacy, Quadrilogy, and Anthology sets.

I have the Australian releases for the AvP films. Perhaps they may have been edited, and the US / UK versions have more bonus features? The old R4 ALIEN Legacy boxed set was edited for bonus content. But the 60 mins documentary was included. For the US R1 version, you had to send away for the bonus disc documentary, I remember.

Have you tried Blu-ray.com? I use this website when I am looking for specific cuts and releases of movies and TV shows I want to get on disc. Now you got me thinking, here are the releases I have...

DVD: Alien vs. Predator (1-disc), Prometheus (bare bones)
Blu-ray: Alien Anthology (6-disc set), Aliens vs. Predator: Requiem, Alien Covenant, Predator (4-film collection)

All that's missing is AVP (2-disc DVD, Blu-ray), Prometheus (3D Blu-ray for the exclusive Special Feature disc), and Prey (still haven't seen it, haha).

Yes, I use Blu-ray.com for comparisons. They don't have anything, I believe, on out-of-print DVDs, only standard and 4K BDs.

They'll list DVD releases, but they do not review them, just Blu-ray and 4K.

Quote from: BlueMarsalis79 on Sep 14, 2024, 12:32:40 PMIt is an uspscaled 2K master, the same as the original Blu-ray release, it is modified with Park Roads "artificial intelligence" algorithm which invents fake detail like edge enhancement does for example but baked into the image of the 4K Blu-ray.

Leading to smearing faces in the background or misinterpreting certain things as other things it can draw.

Additionally the high dynamic range only gets to 200 nits of light, basically barely even noticeable, for comparison most discs get up anywhere from 1000 to 2000 nits.

Yes all that and the the color grading is different and imo not in a good way from the previous releases.
