Where can I try out as an actor? Sadly I'm in the states and would love to go to audition but Australia isn't exactly a hot skip away.
Casting for Alien: Covenant has begun! MCTV Management Group has posted the first casting call for Ridley Scott's upcoming Prometheus sequel, Alien: Covenant. The first casting calls ask specifically for people between the age of 8 and 40 who are "skinny & very tall or skinny & very short but strong and very physically agile".
They further elaborate that other useful skills would be "fast in movement, acrobats, dancers, gymnasts, contortionists, Cirque du Soleil type performers." Whilst the actual role isn't specified, this sounds like a casting call for potential Engineers or Aliens. This is reinforced by the request for "skinny & very tall" and "gymnasts, contortionists, Cirque du Soleil type performers."

The first Alien, Bolaji Badejo, was notoriously tall and skinny and James Cameron was also known for casting gymnasts for his creatures in Aliens. Also of note is that the age range and stature request is quite varied as this could imply a wide variety of creatures – young and old Engineers? Less developed Aliens? Perhaps even new creatures as seen in the comic series Prometheus: Fire and Stone?
The last we heard Alien: Covenant is slated to start filming in April with an October 2017 release. Are you in Australia and planning on auditioning? We'd love to hear from you and see how the audition went!

Interesting. The casting call instantly reminds of what Ridley had in mind for the Beast back in 1979. I also thought of Engineers young and old.

Dont worry just joking. :D (but i am tall and skinny)
So exciting!
I'm skinny and tall... but I'd make a good Engineer couch potato, not a gymnast. XD

Ewoks
Sexy ewoks?
Oh come on man; surely there is one slightly over weight engineer.
Maybe with the call for contortionists we'll finally see the "box alien".

Maybe. Personally I'm hoping we saw more movement like that of Stompy coming out the vents in Isolation.
It would interesting to see whether all the engineers are the same height or not. Personally I believe they are looking for individuals who can play xenomorphs. I think the engineers will take a back seat in this story. Their architecture, worlds, and creations will be the main focus. Like aliens in Egypt. We will see statues and flashbacks, and maybe hopefully an engineer or two.
Damn. I'm a tall skinny mofo, and dance and theatre trained. Sadly, I believe Australia could be on the exact opposite side of the globe from me...
This immediately made me think of some bizarre batch of beings smushed together, mutated and contorted, in all sortsa ways and directions that DAVID is experimenting on. Something like the VIPER PIT in A:R only much more organic and distorted.
Either that, or the inhabitants of the planet are all creatures David has experimented upon in various stages of mutation from the goo.
I'm still expecting a lot of ISLAND OF DR. MOREAU from this.
I do hope we see the engineers in Alien:covenant and in more detail than seen in prometheus, it's great to see Scott and team making another film featuring the xenomorph, no doubt the iteration will be something fresh alongside more towards the horror genre. I found prometheus more of a sci fi thriller, i was disappointed when i first saw the film, but accept it for what it is, the only part of it which unsettled me slightly was the engineers black lifeless eyes, when Scott deleted the engineer speaking to weyland, i thought it was a terrible mistake. I'm hoping we see something 18 rated and the studio don't put any pressure on Scott to reduce the violence or horror elements for a lower rating. or the run time to enable more cinema screenings daily.I know a studio will always have an influence on a production, as the movie industry itself is a business and Scott generally does what fox will advise. I just hope we see a decent film, which is not hindered by studio interference, i think Ridley can still deliver.
If this film follows on to alien, would we not see the engineers to tell the story of the crashed derelict and the dead pilot?

A more direct tie-in towards Alien isn't going to be until one of the later films, I don't think.
Did someone just comment to my post? I do not live in Australia, and I am not an actor. I used to be.
If u look at my previous comment, there is a line separating the first line from the second. The second is not mine. Is this someone else's???
Sorry, it merges the posts when 2 guests post after each other.
In answer to your question though - I don't know. I'd suggest contacting the agency.
try it ! you never know ... !

You'll need a work permit for any sort of formal employment in Aussie. And even then I suspect they'll only employ Australian citizens anyway.
Unless they're looking for illegal aliens. That might be a different matter.

Start digging...
One interesting thing about this is that the official synopsis for the film claims DAVID is the only inhabitant of this world. Which begs the question: Where do all of these characters fit into that framework?
Are they part of some flashback sequence?
Is David lying and there are plenty of people/engineers on this planet with him?
or-
Is the Covenant carrying an entire Colony of people? If so, what kind of colony is comprised of these types?
I want a movie with lots of Working Joes.
This is very exciting news. If we look at the extremes I'd rather have obviously human Aliens than obviously CGI ones.

No, it just doesn't mention Shaw, doesn't mean she isn't there, she just won't be in the next movie, but prob in the movie after. I don't trust anything Ridley Scott says anymore...If he however just kills off the character like Hicks n Newt were killed off..I will be even more disappointed than I was with Prometheus..

Something tells me they are looking for actors to play "Deacon" hybrids or variations thereof. It is as if Sir Scott wants to have many different types of the 'ancestor' program and then build up to the final resolution and crescendo at the end of the film, wherein the ultimate form of this bio-weapon, the Xenomorph itself, is unveiled as the final showdown. I really hope he goes that route, with various small skirmishes and encounters with the various "attempts" by the Engineers at creating this theoretical "perfect organism" gone awry, and through much struggle and conflict (and maybe even an Engineer-Human team-up), eventually they track down the "egg silo".
I would like to audition for alien covenant but I tried to register with mctv but it doesn't let me sign up I wish I could get more information in the auditions email mrcwatson60@gmail.com

Engineer kids?
That was my thought too.
If the tall people are going to play Engineers then the "midgets" (proportionate dwarfs) will probably play normal humans in order to get the necessary scale contrast.
Kind of how Ridley Scott used his kids in Alien to make the Space Jockey ...err "Engineer" appear bigger.
Engineers kids are the last thing I want to see, enough with the Space Jockey emasculation already!

Or maybe they built scaled down sets again and they will have the kids in space suits like in the first movie again.
