The Empire Strikes Back.

BTS of Echo Base in the Hoth system:

The grand 'ol days of huge practical sets with nary a blue-screen to be seen. A full-scale Millennium Falcon was built for Empire as opposed to only a partial one for Star Wars/A New Hope.

The picture below gives you a good idea of the huge size of the Falcon:

Ralph Mcquarrie on ladder taking a pic of the Falcon:

Mcquarrie also made a brief cameo in the film and subsequently also got an action figure:

The Local Layabout on set: (note the Star Wars 2 on X-Wing boarding ladder)

Imagines himself so suave:

Not really with the Echo Base interiors though. Except maybe for that Mcquarrie cameo shot? That looks like a matte painting in the background.

Rest of the film and trilogy had plenty of blue-screen and matte painting work though, granted.  :P

Yeah the McQuarrie shot (with Joe Johnston) was shot in front of a blue screen.

I recently read Lucas' rough draft of A New Hope from 1974. It was interesting seeing how different it was, but it wasn't terribly well written stuffed full of endless technical exposition. And Lucas was no better at writing romantic subplots in the 70s than he was in the 2000s. Also, he very much nicked a lot of names of terminology from this when putting together the prequels.

Any honorable mention of Coruscant, midichlorians or the sand?  ;D

Nope, but Utapau, Valorum, and Mace all pop up applied to different things/people. And there's some talk of trade blockades as well.
