Best way to read Fire&Stone + Life&Death? (Read 768 times)

Hi there! For those who've read them, what would be the best way to read the Fire&Stone plus the Life&Death comics? I've never really read graphic novels before, and I'm a bit confused by the ordering. Do the Alien Fire&Stone and Life&Death comics directly relate to the Prometheus comics of those series? Same with the Predator comics?

I bought two Prometheus comics from my local comics store, which are Prometheus: Fire&Stone volume #1 and Life&Death volume #2. Looking online, I see that the Complete Editions are super expensive, so I'm figuring I'll just go ahead and buy the individual copies. :)

This list by SM in another thread is your best bet for Fire And Stone.  Life And Death is already done chronologically.

Fire And Stone Chronologically:

Aliens
Prometheus
AvP
Predator
Omega

You can also read them in release order:
Prometheus 1
Aliens 1
AvP 1
Prometheus 2
Predator 1
Aliens 2
AvP 2
Prometheus 3
Predator 2
Aliens 3
AvP 3
Prometheus 4
Predator 3
Aliens 4
AvP 4
Predator 4
Omega

Thank you soo much! I plan to read them all eventually!

Just get the Hardcover versions from Dark Horse, they look great and are correctly ordered.

Cosmic Incubation

I've been wanting to get those hardcovers to read and add to my collection.

I assume they're out of print tho. Is there a good place/site to buy them at a decent price?

thexenomorph

They're super expensive on Ebay sadly. I might have to save up haha.

Since you already got a real answer I will give you mine.

Spoiler
Not to.

Fire and stone wasn't too bad but it's painfully obvious the creators were no longer able to tell the story they had set out to.
The only part that has a fairly well rounded story is the predator arc.
The Prometheus arc is pretty cool on its own as long as you don't mind it ending on a cliffhanger with no real payoff.
And don't even get me started on the design of the Helios spaceship I think it is. One moment it has dozens of rooms, a huge hanger bay, a crew of about 30, the next panel it's the size of an F16. Makes no sense.

Life and death is pointless. Absolutely zero pay off to anything. And most of it is drawn by a four year old with a crayon.
Avoid. Don't waste your time or money.

I can't imagine creative freedom making this better necessarily.

These will probably never be re-released, right?

SM

I'm sure they will at some point.

The Geryon Armada was four ships - Geryon, Helios, Kadmos, Perses.  All different sizes and configurations.  Though none as small as an F16.

Yes. The Geryon Armada was indeed multiple ships. The one I'm talking about is the yellow one. The one Eldon attacks, steals and later crashes.
The interior shots of that particular ship are f**king massive. Huge corridors, big rooms with long tables, panoramic windows in some of them.
The exterior shots of the same ship never have any windows (other than the bridge) and it never looks big enough to contain what it shows inside.

By the time Eldon crashes back down on 223, that ship is tiny. Look at the panel of him on top of the bridge while he talks to Angela. It's like the size of a cockpit on a fighter jet.

Bear with me while I set my watch, I'm sure next there will a "f**king hell, who is this c**t?" Comment from Sil, quickly followed by an ingenious display of cognitive thinking in the form of a witty but very apt gif by Local Trouble.

Any moment now...

I can't find the panel you're talking about but I think I know what you mean.  The Helios does appear smaller in Omega, but it's still not fighter jet size.  Just different interpretations between different artists.

I would imagine/expect we'll get them whenever Marvel does the Alien vs. Predator omnibuses. Personally, I preferred the Life and Death series. I find Elden intriguing, and there's some nice artwork in the various Fire and Stone series, but they frustrate me like Prometheus itself does.
