People who hate Alien 3.

Yeah. I said "real fans" of Aliens. I didn't say "real fans" of the Alien franchise. Anyone who saw Aliens in the cinema and loved it, was disappointed in 1992. It's why things like the WG script was made into a comic book and the original Aliens actors came back to do the audiobook of the WG.

Having seen the writing on the wall a year before release, my expectations were at zero well before it came out, and then picking up a copy for $1 in a clearance sale of physical stock after some of the issues had been patched, means that I don't actually hate it - it's a shit game but I can't summon the visceral rage born of betrayal that a lot of people hold for it, because I knew it would suck. I played through it once and was mildly entertained for large parts of it, so I got my dollars' worth out of the thing.

That's understand. You know that I actually did really love the game when it came out. It was very young at the time, but I really did thought it was a great game, And I thought that the people who were angry about it, were just haters. There was even a point where I thought that this game was better than isolation. Yeah, I'm surprised that I'm not in a psych ward already. But as time went on, I stop playing the game then I realize that that it was a pretty shit game and isolation really is the great game that everybody was calling it. That doesn't mean I have some Positive about the game. From what I recall, there were some nice Easter eggs Within the game, Like the giant donut, and the chestburster with a hat and cane. The multiple alien variation that came to like Like the Crusher, which became A big thing in recent time and my personal favorite, the spitter. However, we denied the best Mission was The Raven. Basically, it was a beta isolation with a big ass alien on your tail. My thoughts on it

I quite like elements of The Raven's design, although there's enough bad aspects that I can't claim to like it as a whole.

Like the eye? Or was it too spiky?

I agree, tone it down and it be better

I like the actual head though, and the fused scarring exposing the skull is a cool concept but probably a bit much to double up with the other gimmicks in one enemy.

Maybe, however, we can agree that the first part of the Level it came from was pretty much the best part of campaign, right?

I remember it being closer to genuine tension than most of the game, but wasn't it also the part with the blind, exploding clowns?

Can't say I'm a fan of either concept or the execution at all, honestly.

Well Aliens 1986 is considered the best movie in the franchise. And this game puts you in that movie, the same characters, same weapons, etc. which is what makes it really cool. And with all the fixes on PC it plays like a completely different game than Randy's original disaster. It also fleshes out many of the weapons used in the comics since like the NSG23, etc.

Whatever people think of it, this is the only game that is in the Aliens 2179 universe of the movie. And the edits and fixes make it very good nowadays (at least on PC).
