Still Collating said, "This announcement is for the start of the Kickstarter that probably won't start before November. I'll be surprised if we see the PDF before the next summer."

That's a good point. they will have at least a year, maybe two, before this actually comes out. That does ease the pain of double dipping a little.

Very nice hearing the mention of Solo Play.

I recently came across a fan supplement that can be used in a solo play style for ALIEN. Haven't tried it yet, but will be starting a game soon with my son.

He's loved the little bit of Alien he has gotten to play. Pretty sure it was the Chariots of the God's that we had started. He had one character and had tried to do a space walk like in Isolation from one ship to the next. Well it didn't pan out like he was hoping as he got caught in zero g between ships. So, I let him take control of another character to help him out of this mess. A bad roll later, he had unintentionally sent his OG character to meet its maker and drift in space forever.

I hope that Andrew Gaska will still be involved in some capacity. That man really gets what Alien is about, and can spin the strangest expanded universe material into canon gold.

I also want Fulfremmen miniatures. Pay off the Giger Estate if need be.

The RPG actually presented the 3WExit in a convincing way, something that Colony War failed to do.

I own the RPG, but simply don't know anyone in proximity to actually sit down and play. Since I've never participated in a book based /tabletop rpg, is it something that could be played via webcam? And if so, is it something that could be organised officially for AvPGalaxy members who are interested? (Time difference and work commitments permitting?) get some of us together, keep a log of the stories that play out and have our own kinda ongoing 'series'? 😊

Webcam usually isn't necessary. Discord group VC and a supporting website for maps (and dice rolling if you don't entirely trust people to play honestly) is standard.

I've only played one game of this that way (with Blue, Hicks, and I want to say... HuDa, Shevvie and Blues' brother? It was a ways back now) and aside from a few mic issues it went great. I've played A LOT of Rogue Trader and homebrews the same way however.

EDIT: lol, apparently I have a discord..looks like I made one previous and joined the AvPGalaxy server there (presumably to join in potential multiplayer game sessions and just never getting around to it?) I don't recall doing that 🤣🤣🤣🤣

Used to make a lot for my homebrew game that's basically just a "one page rules" version of this but haven't transferred them over yet, mostly due to poverty meaning I haven't kept up with the books.
