No doubt. Still doesn't explain why it's only 8 foot tall. I'd guess at least 10 from memory of the scene.

It might not be a puppet of the entire body. Could be something meant to be shot from the waist up or have the rest added in post.

"By the way, people are going to be in for a shock when they sit down to watch Prometheus and there's an enormous semi-human head piloting a spaceship."

I hope the head looks something like this:

The Alien Predator

This is great news, I am glad they are going to use animatronics rather than cgi for the Space Jockey, it surprised me in a good way.

I hope they do the pilot head right though it kind of worries me a bit but I think they can pull it off somehow.

this will be much better because it will look much more realistic thats why i preferd ALIEN because the xenomorpth seemed more real

QuoteBeen watching bits of a scifi set pass the window & glimpses of construction on soundstage at Pinewood. I suspect for Prometheus.

QuoteLooks so awesome. All thick airlock doors, corridors & bulkheads. Def. Part of Alien universe.

So this is definitely set in the Alien universe but tries to stay away from the franchise at the same time. It's kind of a spin-off then.
