I guess our hopes for an AVP2 remake/remaster are now even further away.

I completely forgot they existed given they made no games since 2017.
Frankly, one shouldn't expect AvP2 remaster/remake especially not from Monolith.

Maybe if Nightdive Studios could do one...

Yeah this holds no bearing on anything to do with AVP frankly, Monolith's fate existed as tied to Warner Bros intellectual property for the majority of their lifespan, it's delusion to suggest they might have done anything outside of that.

I was actually going to ask if this might make a remaster more likely, given one part of the rights mess is being taken out of the equation.

As far as I know, it's still split between Warner, Disney and Vivendi.
