Well, like 90% of the crew.
Is not just Ledward. When the neomorphs attack 10 minutes later you cant tell whos dying, first becouse the scene is a mess  and second becouse you dont know who the hell are they.

Ridley's work with his characters gets worst every film. They are just cannon fodder with no background. You just dont care about them becouse they are expendable (pun intended).

Ankor is the only one who dies in the Neomorph attack and Rosenthal names him when it happens.  It's intentionally chaotic.

Seegson

Two people died during that scene, but is so chaotic and the crew so poorly presented that is normal to lost count.

SM

Depends how you define when the scene starts and if it includes Hallett and Faris dying too.

We see who's left just after.  There's no need for a nice slowly paced action sequence to see who dies and how in when they're firing almost blind at creatures that are very fast in the dark. Give the audience a teensy bit of credit to work it out. It's not difficult.

Two times in a row ?

Yes. Have you ever been in a situation where you're legitimately in full panic? Your rationality and physical coordination go out the window.

Even people trained to control themselves in shock/panic situations like that have a big reduction in effectiveness and have to hyper focus on one or two things to not succumb to the same problems, generally.

Yes I agree on that. I just found the scene silly as it was presented, but I guess that can happen.

this was often called silly. but it isn't at all. on the contrary.
People in extreme stressful situations sometimes do completely crazy things.
I once witnessed a traffic accident.
A car crashed into the driver's side of another car. Thank God it was just a piece of sheet metal damage and no one was injured.
But the driver's door was jammed and the window was broken.
The driver was so scared and hectic. He climbed out through the broken window instead of just going out the passenger side.
It happened incredibly quickly and by the time I got to the car it was already through.
it was due to the stressful situation.

The fact that Ferris caused the lander to explode is also entirely conceivable and not a comedy.

Slutty Badger

Well, hey, Spunkmeyer said "dumbass colonists" for a reason.

SM

Ironic considering his demise.

I feel that Disney likes Prometheus enough to not erase it from canon

But Prometheus fans are lying to themselves if they think that Disney approves of David the creator

There is zero evidence of that and plenty of evidence otherwise

Nightmare Asylum

Who is "Disney" in this instance?

Not only can it be good if it contradicts the lore, it's generally what happens in most works in legacy franchises! The main priority of a lot of creators is to focus on the quality of the work itself, not on how consistent it is with the larger IP.

That's also why redesigns are so common in every cultural industry. Let's say you're making a new Freddy movie, you're gonna be less focused on the fact the texture of the disfigured face is consistent with previous movies and more on the fact it works well with the visual universe of your movie, in patterns, palette, possible symbolism...
