I'm personally not a fan of sword play or in-fact anything that implies something similar within the alien universe. Logically imo it degrades the alien by almost equalizing human and alien making it less scary, less dangerous and less terrifying.

The world of Alien is smart and although science fiction it keeps itself grounded in a semi-realistic sense - at least most of the time. Just my opinion.

Quote from: Kimarhi on Jan 29, 2025, 04:33:44 PMTrailer looks terrible.  I've seen better animation from fans on youtube.
I don't understand the hate for this little teaser. Obviously, it won't have the fully polished CGI of the show, it's just an advertisement. Given what it is, it's actually rather good. It doesn't spoil anything and sets the tone well. The mysterious creature aggressively flying around and either rabidly or desperately trying to escape in a ship where all hell has broken loose gives off a disturbing vibe and teases what's to come. In an era where most trailers spoil the best parts of any movie or show, this is refreshing. Of course, I would love to see some more actual footage, but this is a fun advertisement and the animosity towards it is ridiculous.

I also recall these people complaining about how "terrible" the ''CGI'' was for the first teaser. This confused me because I was in the absolute minority who didn't think it was CG. It was then later revealed that none of it was CGI to begin with lol. I also don't think anyone can find an Alien fan-made CGI video with higher quality than this teaser.
People complaining about this might as well be getting angry over the chicken egg in 79 LOL

Quote from: Xenomorph Nerd on Feb 01, 2025, 11:36:21 AMCalm down cowboy, you're being dramatic and puerile. It's a 30 second advertisement, they're not going to rig up a practical model for this like in the full movie in 1979. You're on the same level as someone complaining about the egg in the first movie's trailer looking like a chicken egg. Someone would be more vindicated in complaining about that since it was actually a part of the main trailer.

If you want to get all ruffled and petulant over a 30 second teaser that isn't going to appear in the show then that is your business. I would say that it isn't good for your heart to be so though. With ''ass'' seemingly taking up half of your conscious I'd say it's time to stop admiring the rearview and start focusing on the road ahead  ;)
Oh beat me to it

I wouldn't be surprised. I could see that sort of big budget marketing for it.

Nightmare Asylum

Not gonna get my hopes up, since nothing was advertised for tonight like it was at the playoffs last week, but it'll be a nice surprise if we do get something!

Same, imagine we saw a teaser for Badlands... it'll never happen for a bunch of reasons but yeah.. would be cool.

"But some of the elements as we know, whatever the host is, informs what the final creature is," said Hawley, "I just wanted to play around a little bit to make it as scary as it should be."

When i read this interview i started thinking what a xenomorph could b hatched from to make it any different to what we've seen before, any 2 or 4 legged mammal would produce basically the same thing & insects r too small, so that left fish which would b silly & what i landed on which was birds.

I figured what if the ship crashes & there r vultures feeding on corpses at the crash site & one is impregnated by a facehugger then we get a flying xenomorph.

Now seeing the teaser which apparently shows a facehugger tussling with a winged alien insect of some kind i figure that's where the flying xeno comes from instead.
