Another great episode! It was interesting hear the devs talk about experimenting with the alien trying to hide and ambush the player from corners. My best memory of this game was in my first playthrough having my back pressed against a door waiting for it to depressurize. The alien started running at me so I gave him a blast of the flamethrower, he jumped up into the vent and I heard the door open behind me only to spin around and the alien was waiting for me behind the door to grab me. I felt just as Burke must've when he got grabbed! I thought the A.I. knew it could cut me off at the door, now I'm thinking I was just unlucky but my "clever girl" moment is still the best Aliens gaming related experience I've ever had! Hopefully the passion and quality remain the same for Isolation 2!

One of my favorite moments is when I'm being pursued by a relentless working Joe, to the point where I was actually laughing at it. I wasn't even thinking about the alien it was just get away from this synth.

@Corporal Hicks: will there be a transcript? I just can't find 2 hours to spare, but I'd love to read what was discussed.

Alien isolation is particularly cinematic if you do the following

Before starting the game, you play last survivor, this serves as the opening scene

Then play the game proper

When you go to the Apollo core, you go on the Apollo computer and cut to black(exit the game)

Then play crew expendable, when you realize that Ash was an android who sabotaged the Nostromo crew and getting you to that point in the opening

Then continue the game from the Apollo core to the hive

This structure works well

My theory is it's a different alien. The whole premise is that you are being hunted by a lone xenomorph but as the game goes on particularly towards the end we see a hive, we hear an alien queen, I genuinely think that's the big twist of alien isolation that there's more than one.

I've seen a lot of videos of players posting videos of the teleporting alien but I really think there was more than one.

Sorry, bud. We don't transcribe discussion episodes - sometime Darkness will transcribe the interview episodes, but not these.

That's a theory I've seen before, and it's one I do quite like. It's a narrative theory, of course, but it's one that makes a lot of sense.

I wonder if IGN is becoming hysterical.

Fancy complaining about a game being hard when playing on hard mode.... :P

In other news, water is wet and fire is hot.

No worries, now that I've found Whisper for Mac. It transcribed the entire thing with only a free account. https://apps.apple.com/us/app/whisper-transcription/id1668083311?mt=12
