Alien and Predator universe generally connected?

I grew up with AvP.  So I want AvP, but I don't want things setting up in the Alien or Predator universes f**king with the others canon.

AvP should be its own thing.  As it pretty much has always been despite that little while where they were trying to say Anderson's AvP was canon and then Prometheus and Covenant nuked it.

The primary reason no is that they have never cared, or showed that they give af about making things make sense. 

This isn't going to be Lucasfilm where they had canon SW historians going over everything and making it fit.

It'll literally be a tongue in cheek reference between the movies that some poor writer will have to try and conceptualize an idea off of into a full film that makes sense. 

Eventually because Disney is tied into Marvel I GUARANTEE YOU that they will try a crossover with the Predator.  And I'm not okay with that kind of nonsense entering the A/P movies. 

Like do you really want an Alien movie where a 300 year old logan is a main character?  Just stop this before it gets too dumb.

I can literally see their brains spinning and all of it is only, "We gonna make so much money of this vs shit."

Which would be fine..........if it stayed in its own little pocket reality.

I know, and that is why it needs to be separate.  Otherwise it essentially becomes the DH EU timeline.  Where almost every story was its own little pocket timeline of people knowing/not knowing about the Aliens, or where earth had been invaded or hadn't been invaded by the Aliens.  That was annoying, but it didn't matter because those stories didn't effect what was happening in the movies.

When you start doing that in actual film, that influences other film, that gets a little harder to try and rectify.

It would, but it's not mandatory.  They're all getting on a bit. It just needs to capture the vibe as much as possible, without resorting to parody.

I always saw that AVP was influenced by the separate Alien and Predator events in film, never the other way around. The most I would like to see is mentions in like bar stories of hear say of the event of that Alien film here or that Predator film over there. Kind of like in the AVP 2010 game where they talked about how messed up the mission was in the events of Aliens.
