Theres plenty of dvd, blu ray and game topics, and theres plenty of topics about what your favourite bands are and what youre listening to but I couldnt find one like this.
Now I know not many people buy music in physical form these days but for those that do, lets hear what youve been buying be it vinyl, cd or whatever. Some of us still like to have a growing music collection thats tangible and infront of them and some of us still get excited when an album has great artwork or comes with something different.
I always look forward to Ed Banger Records releases because they often have something special about them. Uffies album (Sex, Dreams & Denim Jeans) came in a little denim sleeve designed to look like a back pocket of a pair of jeans. Justice's album Cross opened up into a big (you guessed it) cross shape. DJ Mehdi's compilation Red, Black & Blue came with a nice little booklet in which he'd written little notes about each song he'd chosen which was nice to read.
People say you should never judge a book by its cover but sometimes I judge a CD by its cover(not often but I have done it) and i'll pick it up purely because of its cover and buy it on a whim.
I probably spend about £100 on CD's a month, wether that be in a store like HMV or at a market or charity shop.
Anyway today ive just bought:
Albums:
My Morning Jacket - Circuital
SebastiAn - Total
Led Zeppelin - Mothership (Cant believe I didnt own a Led Zep until now, shameful)
Friendly Fires - Pala
Compilations:
Friendly Fires - Bugged Out! presents Suck My Deck
Rough Trade - Counter Culture 10
Kitsune Maison 11
Come on guys there must be some of you on here who has a collection and not just digital data on a computer and I wanna hear about it?
Man, it's been a couple of years since I bought a cd.
The last ones I remember buying were:
Revenge of the Sith OST
Evanescence - first one
Seether - Disclaimer II
It was back in 2005. For me I just lost a lot of interest in music and I'll hear a song or two I like but not any specific group enough to warrant buying a whole dvd. :-\
i picked up "The Aeroplane Flies High" Boxset by Smashing Pumpkins a few days ago off the net.
I intend to buy Stone Temple Pilots - Purple, and a few Lenny Kravitz CD's
Mortal Treason- A Call to The Martyrs
Seriously sick album, took me ages to find it too
found an awesome music shop and bought
Manic Street Preachers - Generation Terrorists
Lenny Kravitz - Let Love Rule
Suede - Best of
White Zombie - Astro Creep 2000 \m/
Prince - 1999
Massive Attack - Mezzanine
Foo Fighters Greatest Hits.
I bought The Essential Bob Dylan CD pack.
And I also bought The Pixies: Surfer Rosa. Come on Pilgrim
I don't listen to music much and don't have a large collection of music.
Looooooooooooong time since I've actually paid for music. But I think the last album that I bought was Bjork's debut album.
Amon Amarth's Surtur Rising
Today I picked up
Digitalism: I Love You Dude
Beastie Boys: Solid Gold Hits
Arcade Fire: Scenes From The Suburbs
SBTRKT: SBTRKT
Lykke Lie: Wounded Rhymes

Arcade Fire: Scenes From The suburbs.
Anygood?
Dont know never had a chance to watch it yet. I presume youre talking about the short film seeing as its the same album as The Suburbs only with two new tracks, a dvd with a short film by Spike Jonze, and an 80 page booklet. Nice little set and if you dont already own the album its definately the one to pick up. I already own it but i had to have it.
I'll watch it today at some point.
Frank Turner - England Keep my Bones
City & Colour - Little Hell
I used to buy CDs every week a year or so ago. Now it's only every few weeks.

Watched it today. I really enjoyed it and thought it was great. If youre a fan of Arcade Fire and Spike Jonze (Where The Wild Things Are, Being John Malkovich) then its worth checking out. Its not incredible and a sin to miss or anything but its definately worth watching if youre a fan of either. Being a bigger fan of Arcade Fire and in particular their latest album helps the most though because its basically a half hour film with the soundtrack being tracks from the album. It works brilliantly by the way and its not just a cheesy "insert track here" self promotion thing.
The whole thing is well thought out and the two brothers from AF wrote it with Jonze.
The short making of documentary is alot of fun to watch too.
3 Doors Down Time of my Life Deluxe Edition
I love this band. :)
Bought Penguin Prisons debut album yesterday and I also picked up The Raptures new album on Vinyl as a birthday present for a friend. Hope the little c**t hasnt already bought it.
Bought the special edition version of The Holy Bible by Manic Street Preachers. Really good, its got an alternate US mix of the album which shits all over the original, and a DVD of live footage and videos
^^^ Nice.
Unfortunately i bought the 20th Anniversary version of Nevermind which is f**king appalling!!! Terribly remastered.
Five Finger Death Punch's new album American Capitalist.
I bought the soundtrack of "Drive"
Got quite a few today.
The Black Ghosts - When Animals Stare
The Kills - Blood Pressure
Lykke Li - Youth Novels

Antanas Jasenka - Ancient Songs (2009)
Arturas Bumšteinas - Heap of Language (2010)
Bohdan Mazurek - Sentinel Hypothesis (2010)

The last album I bought was:
Royal Trux - Twin Infinitives (1990)
I guess...
X-Men First Class Soundtrack.
So good.
One of the Sailor Moon osts :D
I bought The Hunter from Mastodon off of Itunes. Not bad, some good songs but nowhere as good as their other stuff that they did in the past.

It's f**king superb isnt it. Only just listened to Broken Bells album for the first time last month too. Danger Mouse is a f**king genius.
Cee Lo Green, The Grey Album, Gorillaz, DangerDoom, The Rapture, Sparklehorse, The Good The Bad & The Queen, Black Keys, Broken Bells, Daniele Lupi and even Banksy for f**ks sake. The man's got his fingers dipped in some mighty fine pies!
I worship very few people. But Danger Mouse is one of them; he collabs with the best.
And yeah, I just got into Broken Bells too, they're amazing.
Bought a few today. Some I alreayd have downloaded but didnt own a physical copy. I got a few baragins in a second hand shop too. Picked up a pretty neat Special Edition of Gorillaz - Demon Days which had awesome packaging (it was a clear plastic case with a cardboard interior that you can fold in different ways to have a different Gorillaz character on the front. Got that and their first album for a fiver.
Also picked up
Aeroplane - In Flight Entertainment
Janelle Monae - Archandroid
Happy Mondays - Greatest Hits
M83 - Hurry Up, We're Dreaming (didnt even know this was a double album until I bought it)
Zola Jesus - Stridulum II
Laura MArling - A Creature I Dont Know
The Long Blondes - Someone To Drive You Home
The Futureheads - News & Tributes
She & Him - A Very She & Him Christmas - First Christmas album ive ever bought. Come on it's Zooey what did you expect. I'll also be picking up Emmy The Great's christmas album on Monday. What have I become.

Listening to the Zola Jesus album now. f**k a duck, its unreal. So powerful.

Let's not get ridiculous here. If nobody supported an artist, there would be no art produced; so I choose to contribute to supporting them.

ditto, i might not always buy an album right away, but i will probably buy it eventually, this is especially the case with music i discover a long time after it's released, whereas brand new stuff i will buy in order to help their release day sales figures, which although not always important to the band, is important to the label.
as for seeing bands in concert, i only go to a couple of "concerts" a year, and i go to a music festival where the money is split amongst every band, most of whom I don't see and possibly don't like.

That sentiment is exactly why James Murphy decided to call it a day for LCD Soundsystem. Hugelu popular band, with a huge following but not in the "mainstream" where they could sell insane amounts of records. They had to make their money from gigs and in the end he got fed up of the state of the music industry where any old crap pop music can make millions while artists like themselves get critical acclaim and a huge fanbase but not much else. He just couldnt see the point anymore.
You have to remember not every artist earns ridiculous money. Those in the pop charts regularly, certainly do and youre right it isnt going to hurt global superstars but it does hold back the little guys who dont have the advantage of the mass appeal. Without people buying their music we wouldnt get new acts breaking through because they would never get the chance.

Sorry I'm not in the know with regards to Florence and the Machine, I'm not really a fan (infact for some reason she annoys the f**k out of me) but if its the one that's been getting alot of radio play in the UK recently its f**king marvellous.
Anyway just picked a few CD's today:
FabricLive.30 - Stanton Warriors
Boys Noize - The Remixes
Discodeine - Discodeine
The Black Keys - El Camino
I've been meaning to pick up Discodeine's album all year after hearing Synchronize with Jarvis Cocker.

Yes, its their new single and I think that it has been getting a lot of airplay here. I'm not usually a fan of their stuff but I do like their new song!
Cool to see Jarvis Cocker again, what a character

Yeah it didnt get very good reviews man, stick to the original disk on that one id say. Great 80s hard rock album, got Steve Tyler on it.
I recently bought Stone Temple Pilots - Tiny Music.... songs from the vatican gift shop
aswell as three of soundgardend 4 albums they put out in the 1990s. Badmotorfinger, superunknown and down on the upside. Great albums.
Burn it Down by Linkin Park.

Textures - Dualism
Sweet band from netherlands. Pretty much the original meshuggah worship (djent) band, these guys do it right. Melody, progressiveness, techy parts, and heaviness is what you find in Textures albums. And it all translates amazing live.
(https://www.avpgalaxy.net/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi213.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fcc316%2Fderplo%2FNile_Those_Whom_The_Gods_Detest_00_CD-Cover_front.jpg&hash=62d1405d130cf49485739b7a7904697a6095fbc6)
Nile - Those Whom The Gods Detest
I've loved Nile fro several years now and this is the first CD of theirs that I have bought so I found this purchase long overdue. Plus these tracks got erased from my computer so I haven't listened to them in about a year. Super stoked to pop this one in and blaze. Also worth mentioning: Nile liner notes are freaking unreal. So in-depth and descriptive about the historical origins of the lyrics and song concepts. I wish every band was this meticulous/I wish they had things to be meticulous about. You definitely get you money's worth with Nile.

Cattle Decapitation - Monolith of Inhumanity
This is the only CD that I bought yesterday that I'm not familiar with yet. My circle of metal friends all highly recommended it so I had really no choice but to pick it up. All you sci-fi buffs should easily recognize the 2001:ASO reference on the cover, cool eh. Cattle Decap are a vegan goregrind band and their songs focus on typical death metal/cannibal corpsian murder concepts, except they take the inhumanities being committed around the world in slaughterhouses and factory farming complexes and put humans in the scenarios to show how f**ked up it really is. I like meat still, but I think this is a really original direction for death metal lyrics. Excited about getting familiar with this album and the bands back catalog because CD are coming to Toronto this summer on a really awesome tour, and there's no way I'm missing it.
from HMV for $50 after taxes
I wanna pick up the "discovery edition" of Pink Floyds "Animals" is it worth getting? (for the remastered content and booklet)

Both are really great albums. Honestly, I'm poor as f**k so I don't usually buy albums, in Canada they can be pretty expensive :/ Sorry but I'm not paying $25-$30 for a single album.
I pre-ordered the latest Dethklok album which will arrive next month. It only cost me $20 which was pretty good.

My buddy wasn't very impressed with it. Nothing really stood out to him. I personally liked the only song I've heard from the new album.
Anyway, while I haven't brought it, I plan on buying (and I use the term buying extremely loosely) the Chunk! No, Captain Chunk! album.
I have never heard a Dethklok song in my life. The only reason I bought it was because this year's Metalocalypse tour features Dethklok and Machine Head, amongst others. When I saw the offer for a pre-order on the Ticketmaster website, I misread it as a Machine Head album so I really don't know what to expect.

Dude, I remember a time I was bored flippin' through the channels and I stopped on one that had some badass music... being played by cartoon characters? It was so brutal I bought that Dethalbum and never looked back, Brendon Small is fantastic!
Lets see whats the last album I have purchased... I think it was Parallax II: Future Sequence by Between The Buried and Me, which did not disappoint in the slightest.
Oh yeah, Metalocalypse; that show is something else.
I bought the latest Deftones album, cause its f**king great.

I bought a stuff load of music last year. One of them was Adele21.
Review? 3 were great, the rest I didn't flip to. Can't win 'em all.
I used to like Adele. That was until the radio got a hold of her material...
Im sick of hearing Adele. I have to hear her shit everyday at work as the radio enjoys shoving it down my throat.
I must hear the same 4 Adele tracks 3 times a day.

Yeah. I'm getting sick of it too. She's like vanilla custard, good at first, but eventually your stomach gets its full. Haven't been on forums for over 2 months, good to see it again.
I bought Can't Be Touched by Roy Jones Jr. from iTunes recently. Normally I can't stomach modern rap music because it's so self-centred in the way it's written but this one is a terrific workout tune.
"Take This Hammer" by Leadbelly (vinyl)
Amazing rootsie old, old blues album with so many classics, including "Black Girl" which Nirvana covered (renamed as "In The Pines"), and "Borrow Love And Go" which has been 'covered' by John Lee Hooker (renamed "Bottle Up And Go"), as well as "On A Monday" covered by Johnny Cash (renamed "I Got Stripes"). One of the best buys of mine so far 2013.
In honour of Slayer's guitarist, Jeff Hanneman, passing away yesterday, I bought Slayer's defining album and one of the greatest thrash metal albums of all time today: Reign In Blood.
Bought [With Teeth] by Nine Inch Nails earlier today. Nearly got all their stuff now.

I need moar slayer CDs, the only one I have is seasons in the abyss.
I saw Veil of Maya on the current Canadian Forgiveness tour and picked up their Common Man's Collapse CD, and Glass Cloud's The Royal Thousand on CD (they were one of the openers).
Don't feel too bad. RIB is the only Slayer album I possess. Is Veil of Maya any good?
"Jenny Artichoke / El Final De Una Ilusión" by Formula V (on vinyl/45). Can't believe I found this! Great 60ies/70ies Spanish psychedelic pop.

Thank you, but I mean, it's Miles Davis. You have to be musically ignorant to not appreciate his material.

Not original, but a reissue that is limited to 500 copies! One day I will get an original copy for my collection....
I bought the following track after hearing it on YouTube. For anyone who is a fan of ambient noise or new age music, you'll like this. It's haunting but in a very soothing way.

One of the best albums I had ever bought! This band is all that I have been listening to for 2 years. No joke.
To anybody who is interested in new music, Ill Nino is a wonderful band. It is kind of like a Latin version of Linkin Park.
I recommend these songs for people who don't know who Ill Nino is:
1. How Can I Live (You may know from Freddy vs. Jason)
2. This Is War
3. Forgive Me Father
4. Pieces of the Sun
5. I Am Loco
6. Have You Ever Felt?
7. Unframed
Thanks!
I've listened to Ill Nino, albeit only one album: One Nation Underground. It's good stuff, but I wouldn't put them on Linkin Park's level based on that one album.

I can respect your opinion :). I guess certain music affects everybody else in a different way. I just happen to find one band EXTREMELY awesome XD.

Their new single Live Like There's No Tomorrow http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8g_AmRI8n-s#ws (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8g_AmRI8n-s#ws)
1. Alibi Of Tyrants - Enigma

3. Death Wants More - Epidemia
4. Frustrated - One Nation Underground
5. With You - Revolution Revolucion
6. God Save Us - Revolution Revolucion
7. This Time's For Real - Confession
8. Unreal - Revolution Revolucion
9. What You Deserve - One Nation Underground
10. Against The Wall - Dead New World
11. What Comes Around - Revolution Revolucion
12. Bleed Like You - Dead New World
Definitely one for the iPod :D So what songs do you recommend?
By whom?
"Come Back" by THE EQUALS
"Slayed?" by SLADE
"Mississippi Blues" by BUKKA WHITE
"Satori" by FLOWER TRAVELLIN' BAND
Tears For Fears - Break It Down Again CD cardboard sleeve
Tears For Fears - Goodnight Song CD cardboard sleeve

Pet Shop Boys - Electric (newest album, 2013): A VERY upbeat and dancy album which was produced by noneother than Stuart Price! Features a cover of Bruce Springsteen's "The Last To die", which is VERY well done in PSB manner. This is quickly becoming my favorite PSB album!

I've been going nuts on iTunes lately, downloading various songs by Maroon 5, Slayer, The Barenaked Ladies, Tracy Chapman, As I Lay Dying, John Murphy, Children of Bodom, Of Monsters and Men, and so on. I'm more interested in singles lately.
Singles are da shizz. I think the most CD-singles I own are by Weezer (Pinkerton era and Green album era). I love B-sides!

November 10th can not come soon enough! :o
Is that band your favourite?
Genesis is my favorite band of all time, Tears For Fears is second but #1 in my heart. Everytime I think TFF is #1 in my brain, I listen to Genesis to check if that is the case. Genesis rules over them everytime I try out that philosophy. :P
For me (and other TFF fanatics), Tears For Fears has an intelligence and seriousness to them that makes you think and research when/after you listen to them. Their broad range of musical abilities produce so many emotions I never thought existed and always return for more. I only listen to them on fridays, as the day itself somehow produces a magical aurora that no other day can reproduce (I have tried other days to test it out btw). So many hidden messages are on the early covers, such as the rarest mainstream single LP that I shall explain:
(https://www.avpgalaxy.net/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Feil.com%2Fimages%2Fmain%2FTears-For-Fears-Change---Withdraw-491111.jpg&hash=35be4d887209ea634e3c7956a74a008b5b472776)
Their first album, The Hurting, is a collection of feelings that childhood and teenage years bring to us all. As Roland (left) and Curt (right) are positioned with the expressions on their faces, they appear to be as fish caught in a fishnet (teens in the world they live in). Roland's bland stare is a symbol of the emptiness teenage years many people feel occur and Curt is a symbol of the effects of the world bring to youth when they do not understand what is going on, ie caught in the fishnet, hopeless. While this was their darkest moments, other expierences the band would endure would shape their next/later albums. Such as: Roland and Curt used much of the royalties they collected from The Hurting and it's singles (which were many in England, their homeland)to pay for primal scream therapy, which was only practiced worldwide by two psychologists; one in New York City and the other in Los Angeles (I think). Thus came the Songs From The Big Chair album, accompanying the hit single from their therapy, Shout.
(https://www.avpgalaxy.net/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fupload.wikimedia.org%2Fwikipedia%2Fen%2F3%2F39%2FTFF_Shout.jpg&hash=1efdd98a2954859024716056e228f915f6201a0d)
Again, much symbolism here. Roland has the saddened look, ready to scream almost. Curt has the appearance of relief, looking up to search for his lost meaning, found in the word (or practice), Shout.
Now merchandise from certain eras is EXTREMELY rare, such as Elemental (1993) and Raoul And The Kings Of Spain (1995-1996), with TFF fanatics literally never getting ahold of some items bc so few existed on the very short tours. When you see an item extremely unique from this band, chances are you will not see it for YEARS (or never) again. If you look on the What made you happy today thread (from Saturday, Sept. 27), I won on ebay an ultra rare Access all areas pass (alternate artwork version) from the RATKOS tour. It is estimated that five or less exist now, so I had to really fight it out with another TFF collector and ended up paying 3X more than I thought I would. Two years ago, I found a RATKOS promotional poster on ebay and got it right away. Two years later, not another has shown up, anywhere. I always keep an eye out for their tour shirts too, (up to 15, I believe, atm) luckily getting a few over the past 3 years that have not shown up again since. Ironically, I have 5 or 6 from the RATKOS tour, the hardest ones to obtain. :)
In conclusion, while Genesis is my all-time favorite band, Tears For Fears is #1 in my heart and #2 in my brain. Their music produces feelings and thoughts no other has produced or possibly match. The musicianship and true talent they possess is a treasure only certain people can understand and appreciate. I highly suggest them to all people I meet, asking them to simply "Listen to them when you are alone and need inspirational uplift. They will not fail you."
I recently saved from a second hand shop

Great choice. On another note, I always rescue Tears For Fears - The Seeds Of Love album on whatever format I find and give them away to people who never heard the band or that album. Everyone is always apppreciative and very happy after they listen to it.

My first gospel album, featuring no other than Oleta Adams (who was made famous by guess who...? Tears For Fears)
I love the second album by TFF. I just find, that while the first album technically is awesome, i struggle with its super dated 80s production techniques. As for Seeds of Love..... i never know what i think of that album because its such a step away from the sound that originally made them big.
I think The Seeds Of Love ran a mile from the sound that made them big. Don't forget they worked on the album for 4 years and spent 1mill pounds on the production (which back then was total insanity, turned out to be total genius). Easily my favorite album by them, possibly over all other bands/music. So much emotion, thoughts and, oh ya, rock.

So many hidden messages are on the early covers, such as the rarest mainstream single LP that I shall explain:
http://eil.com/images/main/Tears-For-Fears-Change---Withdraw-491111.jpg
Thus came the Songs From The Big Chair album, accompanying the hit single from their therapy, Shout.
http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/3/39/TFF_Shout.jpg
In the USA that was the case with "What is Love?" in 1993, but in other countries, such as Germany, Haddaway was an even bigger dance hit artist. "Fly Away" from the
The Drive album was another hit dance single, for example. He is a very educated man and lives in quiet in Europe (current position is unknown to me). Can't wait to hear both of his albums when they arrive!
Just for fun: all three albums I purchased cost a grand total of .41 cents! Also cost 12$ to ship them all, but still... ;D
I recently received U2's latest album for free on iTunes. For some reason it was being gifted to all iTunes users. It's pretty good.

Pet Shop Boys - I'm with Stupid CDS (2006)
Neil wrote the lyrics of the song in reference to Tony Blair's relationship with George W. Bush. LOL Neil's lyrics are just so sardonic and ironic it's classic.
I downloaded a bunch of 80s tracks from iTunes last week:
Jack and Diane
Missing You
Broken Wings
Self-Control
Into The Night

Pet Shop Boys - Very (Relentless) 2CD
Without a doubt PSB's most known work (Very). Don't know why it took so long for me to order it, but it is grand. The bonus disc, Relentless, is an instrumental 6 track album completely dedicated to electronic dance. It was originally going to be a teaser for an upcoming album the following year, but the tracks never got re-introduced and not released ever again on any format, even iTunes. This is the only way to get those songs, which all die hard PSBers call pure electro genius!
Last music I paid for was 2 CDs at a show from two bands called Homewrecker and Pharaoh, very heavy hardcore bands, on a label called A389 based out of Baltimore, check them out if you are into oldschool metalcore and heavy hardcore, they sign a lot of good bands.

Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young - Deja Vu
Depeche Mode - The Singles 2CD
Real McCoy - Another Night (for $1 !)
DMA - Volume 3 (Dance Magazine Association, 1997) also for $1 ! :)

Cocteau Twins - Heaven or Las Vegas
Cocteau Twins - Four Calender Cafe
I nearly screamed when I found this:
Pet Shop Boys - Behaviour (Further Listening) extremely limited edition import for 7$ !!!!!! :D :D :D :D
The first cd is the album remastered with the second CD contains all the bsides, extended mixes, vinyl mixes and previously unreleased tracks. The condition of the box, booklet and CDs are practically brand new, someone must have been given it and never listened to it. So happy to finally find this extremely rare PSB special edition box!!!
Cocteau Twins - Blue Bell Knoll
Cocteau Twins - Treasure
BBK is considered by many fans to be their best work, I may have to agree! Treasure their second best, we'll see today!
^Treasure was really good btw.
Recently ordered:
AFI - Burials
Cocteau Twins - Milk and Kisses (their final album, 1996)
ATC - All Around The World (The Remixes) MCD
The second track is SO freaking dance!!

Picked up some new songs, thanks to some tunes I recently heard at a wedding.
Jason Derulo - Want To Want Me
The Human League - Human
Jimmy Eat World - Sweetness
Journey - Open Arms and Don't Stop Believin'
Meat Loaf and Friends. It was a compilation from 1992 that featured songs by Meat Loaf, Jim Steinman, Bonnie Tyler and Ellen Foley. Ellen Foley's songs are the only ones that don't have Steinman songwriting credits
Just got in DMA (Dance Music Authority) Volume 1 Eurodance from 1995. So many great tunes for a great low price!
I bought Disturbed's newest album a few weeks ago. Overall it's quite good though I'm one of the few people who doesn't like their cover of Sounds of Silence. They took a very simple song, both lyrically and musically, and turned it into some grand orchestral piece. It doesn't work IMO.

Jomsviking - Amon Amarth
Of Gosts and Gods - Kataklysm
Finally broke down and got:
Genesis - Invisible Touch (remastered) CD/DVD combo
The DVD alone was worth the 15$ I paid. The remastered album is decent; you can really hear Tony Banks' playing much better on this version and the drums don't really have the echo effect.

Includes the instrumental version as well! :D Interesting to note this is a EU exclusive for a US band... But then again, Weezer has boatloads of back catalog CD singles that are Japan/Australia/England exclusives, so I guess it's not so odd.

"Once & Future Band" by Once & Future Band. Just as great as I thought it would be since I already have the LP. Strongly recommended to anyone who likes Yes, E.L.O., Steely Dan and early Genesis. Despite Once & Future Band being a contemporary band they sound more 70s than the 70s, and not in a contrived way.
Oasis - What's The Story (Morning Glory)? 2014 remaster 3CD edition

Today is a good day (for great music news)!
Thats really cool. I'm looking forward to this album! Not sure if I will preorder, I might just listen on spotify.
My last music purchase was the new The Black Dahlia Murder CD - Nightbringers which I just got in the mail today.
You must preorder. Now. ;D
Just ordered With Doom We Come on CD I am now $30 Canadian poorer, I hope you are satisfied FiorinaFury
I'm only satisfied if you are. I know we both will be :D
Given the bands consistent track record, it will probably not disappoint. My only hope is for some good black metal parts and not all folk metal the whole way through.
It's not really folk metal, it's "Epic Austrian Black Metal". Direct from one of their shirts
Okay, I stand corrected. Epic Black Metal =/= Folk Metal.

Absolute '90 - V/A and genres comp CD
PULSE - V/A comp CD (extremely reccommended for new Eurodance listeners, loads of classics!)
New Order - Spooky remixes CD
Last album I bought was The Contortionist - Clairvoyant. Picked it up on vinyl. Fantastic progressive metal record. It really takes you away to another place when you listen.

Harrison is a legend.
The second CD is really good. Of course, the first CD is pretty good too ;)

A wise $3 investment, worth it for the remixes alone!
In my case it was Mrs.Walter Legge's (nee Fraeulein Elisabeth Schwarzkopf) rendition of twenty-four of Schubert's Lieder, an interesting recording as the Lieder are traditionally performed by a light male voice. A decidedly lucky find as it costs twenty-eight pounds on Amazon. She was a very highly regarded East Prussian-Austro-British (!) soprano.
